Glasgow played host

to the Scotty Qualifier
Track & Field Meet last
night. The idea is to limit
athletes events and give
them a chance to qualify
for state. And we dont
know of anyone who has
as much fun in track as
our Scotty girls. Pictured
below is Alaina Sallee
doing a little jig to warm up
for the high jump in which
the freshman placed 4th.

Duking it out in a tight race are (left to right) Glasgows Cade Myrick, Walker Allen, Ellis
McKean and Poplars Mathew Rattling Thunder. Myrick, a freshman, would eventually pull
away from the pack to win the 1600, ahead of Rattling Thunder by seven seconds. McKean,
also a freshman, would place third and Allen took 5th.

Paul Zerbe

Paul Zerbe was born February 27,
1930 to William and Marie (Redekopp)
Zerbe in Lustre, Montana. He passed
away peacefully into the loving arms
of his Lord and Savior, at his home on
April 16, 2016, at the age of 86 after a
short battle with stomach cancer.
He accepted the Lord at the age
of 13 during a revival meeting at the
Lustre M.B. Church. He attended
Lustre Country School through the
8th grade and went on to Prairie Bible
School in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada,
his freshman year. He finished his high
school years at Glasgow High School,
graduating in 1949. He and his brother,
Otto, had to return to Glasgow to finish
high school and help with the family
farm because of his fathers illness.

In 1950, Paul and his brother Otto,
went into the farm equipment business
together in their dads shop starting
Zerbe Bros. Inc. In 1951, Paul attended
a year at LeTourneau Tech in Longview,
Texas, to study welding. While visiting
his sister and family in Nebraska, he
met Ferne Rousselle, and they were
married June 18, 1952 in Culbertson,
Nebraska. They had 3 children; Lynell,
Galen, and Sherrie. Paul loved farming,
especially harvest. He enjoyed driving
the combine or grain cart. After
retirement, in 1997, Paul and Ferne
moved to Glasgow. Their winters were
spent at Bibleville in Alamo, Texas
working at Rio Grande Bible Institute.
Paul was the local handy-man fixing
everyones plumbing problems.
Paul was a member of the M.B.
Church and later transferred to the
Evangelical Church in Glasgow. He
was a school board member at LCHS
and also a board member for the Valley
County Refuge for many years.

Paul was preceded in death by his
parents, brothers; Otto and Ludwig
