Biological Air Cleaner Eliminates the Need for Costly Air Exchange System
The CAP™ Clean Air Plant
was tested on destruction of
printers’ blanket wash, a
solvent used to clean rollers
on small printing presses
between runs. The blanket
wash, a clear liquid with a
strong petroleum odor, is
considered an OSHA Class
1B flammable liquid. Over-
exposure to the vapors will
irritate the nose, throat, and
lungs, and can cause central
nervous system depression
with symptoms such as
unconsciousness. Solvents
are a source of concern in
printing shops — as health,

Blanket wash is the most
common solvent used by
the printing industry, since
cleaning rollers typically
