Progress
the previous slide shows some of the new developments we will be implementing this summer.
1. Continued Development of our Website: www.theschoolfund.org - we’re working to implement phase 2 of the website
with a whole bunch of new features.
a. better sort function on the homepage (way to “sort by” and “filter by.” for example, a potential funder will soon be able to
see only students who want to be doctors, or teachers, or lawyers, the idea being that a funder would be more interested in
funding a student they have something in common with.
b. school profiles. we plan to implement the school profiles where schools can request funding for learning materials to
improve quality of educaiton. for example, a school will soon be able to request $500 for 5 new computers, $300 for musical
instruments, $500 for lab equipment, etc.
c. partners. we want to become a clearing house for other ogranizations doing student scholarships, and distrubution of
learning materials. student scholarships are pretty easy to add to our work. students from other organizations will appear on
our website just as students currently do! we hope to eventually partner with other organizations distributing learning
materials--these partnerships may appear on school’s profile pages.

2. Our Summer Trip is More or Less Organized--whew! we’ll be meeting with several students, teachers and government
officials during the course of the trip to help monitor and expand our activities.

3. We’ll be partnering with One Million Lights to distribute solar lights to our partner schools. These items will eventually be
one of many to appear on schools’ profile pages.

4. 28 of 32 students fully funded!
