Of course, we know our prophet duties, i.e. guide from the darkness to
brightness and teaching islamic doctrins to mozlems to get the happiness in this
world and here after. As the estafet of messangers, scholar take and continou the
main duties of messanger. They also convey some advices to mozlem walfare.
How an excellent and difficult their duties are..
The hadis said, ............., it means : scholar, the legacy of messanger. What are
messangers legacy? They were not gold coins, but sciences. The men who take
this legacy, he will get much luckiness.
Scholar gave some contribution in some religious thingking and great effortness
to against and expel collonialism. The collonialism is not some effortness to
against and expel the collonixer, but also straighten our character and mental
deviations amid of modernity and globalization.
The people who have bad character in many side showed that their bad quantity
and quality. We often have heard about this hadis, the destruction of country
because of there are no scholar who lead that country or because of scholar just
be passive.
Moreever, according to statement of WCRP president,because of Indonesia have
being lost is national character. He said, politic has lost his moral trustworthiness
and civil protection. law has lost moral justness and egality. Education has lost
moral evenness and prosperity. Culture has lost moral value abd the leadership
has lost his integrity and figure model. How terribel the mozlem conditions were.
Their existance and contribution were very impartant to streghten morals
deviation in many side as I said before. One of them is Sahal Mahfudz alhajj. He
was well known as an activator and demolisher of traditonal thingking of
Nahdlotul Ulama that consisted of indigene mayority. His democratic is very
conspicuous. He could motivate societies around him to reach progress in
education, economic and helath aspect. He always revere tawasuth, tawazun,
and tasamuh to solve some social problems.
Maybe, some of you dont know who is Mr. Sahal M. Shortly, he is the leader of
islamic boarding house Maslakhul Huda, Kajen, Pati, central java. He also the
leader of MUI for two periode, start from 2000-2010 th ago. Hes not only the
scholar is wished his guidance, a teacher is arrounded by students, a critical
writer of paper in arabic and indonesian language, but also an activist of LSM
who has high careness about social economic problem arround.
His contribution to find out the solution in Fiqh point of view are :
Eduation aspect : his thingking which were well known about social-contextual of
fiqh. He concerned about making fiqh have a dynamic telationship with social

conditions that is always changing. Mr. Sahal trying to explore Fiqh from a real
strunggle between the truth of religion and social reality which always lame.
Ecomic aspect : he said the economic society emprovement is not sufficient to
hang on the grants from goverment. But needed strong of team working, solid,
well-orgnanized, and profesionalism. Beside that needed some effortness,
thingking, knowledge and transparency to achieve the target and runs
consistently.
And in health aspect, he is the pionering of nutition park which his students
handled it. He also developed health clinic which is thriving became islamic
hospital in Pati.
I wanna convey the Alis statement that was coppied by ibnu abdu barr from the
holy book of jami bayan Ilmi scholar will be reminded every time, although
there is no body is you faced, but their services will be saved in deep of mind.
