Chapter I

Synopsis
He Lord of the Rings is a story of epic fantasy novels written by JRR Tolkien. Published
in three volumes in 1954 and 1955, each volume consisting of two books. The first volume,
entitled The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers the second volume and the third volume of
The Return of the King. This story was written from 1937 to 1949 and became one of the literary
works of the 20th century's most popular and translated into 38 languages. The Lord of the Rings
was filmed three times, first as an animated film by Ralph Bakshi in 1978 (as the first part of the
two films were originally planned), the second in 1980 as a television show. The third
masterpiece, the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings by director Peter Jackson were released in
2001, 2002 and 2003, won several Academy Awards and renew public interest in this trilogy and
other Tolkien works.
he story begins when the hobbit Bilbo Baggins departed leaving the Shire and bequeath
his property to his heir, Frodo. Gray wizard Gandalf, a friend of Bilbo, Frodo advised to be
careful with the ring that became one Bilbo heritage. Seventeen years later passed, and Gandalf
told Frodo to take the ring out of the Shire because the dark lord Sauron in search of the ring.
Frodo, Samwise Gamgee and Peregrin Took (or Pippin) departed and they met with the Ringwraiths on their way. After reaching the Brandyhall, they met with Meriadoc Brandybuck (or
Merry), and all four started their journey towards Bree. They almost killed Barrow-Wights if
Tom Bombadil is not helping them.
When they arrived in Bree, they meet a mysterious person called with the name of
Strider, which means "the wanderer". A letter from Gandalf given to Frodo, tell that Strider is a
friend of Gandalf. In the letter, Frodo was also told to go to Rivendell. Strider offer assistance to
Frodo and they accepted it. The fifth character is finally reached Rivendell, but Frodo was
stabbed by a Morgul blade which is very deadly.
After Frodo healed by Elrond, ruler of Rivendell, a meeting was held. Meeting that tells
the history of the ring, and they decided to destroy the One Ring by throwing it into Orodruin
Ring (or Mount Doom) in Mordor. A group consisting of Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf,
Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas and Gimli formed.
This group missed a lot of danger. Gandalf fell into darkness when the carrier is in the
ring in Moria. Boromir died killed by unidentified armed orc arrows. Merry and Pippin was
kidnapped by the Orcs and Frodo and Sam go both to Mount Doom.
Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, as the rest of the Ring-bearer, decided to save Merry and
Pippin. They refer to themselves as the Three Hunters (The Three Hunters) and pursue the orcs
to Fangorn Forest. Three Hunters Rohan met with troops who had killed the orcs that had
kidnapped Merry and Pippin.

In the Forest of Fangorn, three hunters meet with Gandalf, who turns back to life.
Gandalf told them all to go to Rohan and help the forces of Rohan. At the same time, Merry and
Pippin were already in Fangorn Forest, go to Isengard with the ents who want to take their
revenge against Saruman, Orthanc Tower in Isengard occupants.
Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli fought in the Battle of Helm's Deep with the
Rohirrim and they win. After the win, they go to Isengard and meet with Merry and Pippin. At
this time, Frodo and Sam were walking towards Mordor. On the slopes of Emin Mule they met

influence of the ring always bothered him. In front of the gates of Mordor, they find that they can
not get into the cursed land through there because too strict supervision.
Golam then bring them to Ithilian, land that had been owned by the kingdom of Gondor.
He intends to pretend to bring Frodo and Sam (highly detested) into Mordor through the MinasIthil / Minas-Morgol, through a peak named "Cirith Ungol", which means climbing the spider.
This is because Shelob (a giant spider malignant) live there.
In the beautiful forests Ithilian they met Faramir, brother of Boromir and Denethor's
youngest son. With a heavy heart he carries the second hobit to a secret place that is located
behind a waterfall. After eating and resting, Faramir tells Frodo that a strange creature caught by
the guards. The creature is none other than Golam, who fled when Frodo met with Faramir. By
request Frodo, he managed to save Golam of the death penalty, but Golam never forget. He hates
ties or mine and Frodo tricked him and he was tied. Before leaving, Faramir warned Frodo that
Cirith Ungol name is the name that is cruel and it is possible Golam intends took him there to
frame him. But Frodo kept going and Faramir gives Frodo Frodo food and went on his way.
As a sign of the last threat of Orthank, a stone thrown at Palantir Gandalf. Pippin who
picked haunted by a sense of curiosity and he investigate midnight. But he has found a stone of
vision, whose partner is the property of Sauron. In this way the dark lord knows that Sarumand
been betrayed and he sent the Nazgul, ring-wraiths to fight Sarumand.
The horsemen in Rohan rushed to Minas Tirith. Frodo time to continue his journey to
Minas Morgol dark clouds swallowed the sun. In this dark and the troops of King Theoden to
ride to Gondor. In the dark it is Aragorn, a descendant of Isildur rode the streets to die, calling the

Orks, goblins
This creature comes from a variety of ancient beliefs in England and Saxony. In

Creatures in appearing in Middle-Earth after entering Elves. They were created

Witch
