we know what is the right thing to do . . .
but do we DO that right thing? It is a matter of
integrity. When nobody is watching, do you do
the right thing? That’s where it counts. You
need to stand
right before
God in your
heart. Because
He’s watching.
He is always
watching. He
is a whole lot
more careful
than Satan,

who‘s keeping a book and checking it only
twice, or so we‘ve been told. God is watching
everybody, all the time and He’s keeping the
book.
Do you think I’m kidding you? I most
certainly am not. The Keeper of a great book in
the Heavens has established a record of you,
who you are and all you’ve done. This is the
book that will stand as evidence before you in
the court of God on that last and final day. Will
your name be there? Or will it be blotted out?
Will it give an account of the righteous acts of a
redeemed man or woman or will it describe in
great detail the sordid sinful acts of a life spent
in rebellion against God?
Deep in your heart you know how you
live your life and the tale that it tells to those in
the spiritual realm. Those here on the earth
with carnal eyes may not see how you have
lived but know this . . . God is watching.
He is ever watchful. The Bibles says, “For the
eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout
the whole earth . . . ”. (II Chronicles 16:9)
Nothing is hid from Him. If even for only a
moment you think He has not seen you, you
have deceived yourself.
Moses knew all about this book, yes he
did. The Bible says, “And it came to pass on

the morrow, that Moses said unto the people,
Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go
up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make

returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this
people have sinned a great sin, and have made
them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt
forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray
thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever
hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of
my book.” (Exodus 32:30-33) Moses knew of
this book which God kept. He was willing to
trade his place for theirs in this book, that God
would forgive the people their sin. He was
willing to suffer for their sin, a type of
atonement. God stood firm and told Moses
that whoever sinned against Him would be
blotted out. Blotted out. Do you know what
that means? In the Hebrew it means to literally
erase its presence. To be blotted out of God’s
book means to be removed completely from its
presence.
The psalmist refers to it here where he
asks the Lord to remove the names of the
wicked men who afflict him from His book, the
book of the living, the book of life. “Let them
be blotted out of the book of the living, and not
be written with
the righteous.”
(Psalm 69:28)
And also that he
has knowledge
that God has kept
a record of him,
of us all, since we
were formed in
the womb. “My
substance was
not hid from
thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously
wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

the evidence of His resurrection, the power

damnation will have had the opportunity to be
warned by His Word and His servants and have
chosen rather to ignore this greatest of all
warnings to their soul’s eternal peril.
We who have believed and are following
Him have taken this warning to heart and we
also have our marching orders. Let us serve
Him with vigor and in great faith as we await
His return. For regardless of the day we shall
soon meet Him face to face. Peter wrote, “But,
beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that
one day is with the
Lord as a thousand
years,
and a
thousand years as one day. The Lord is not
slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-
ward, not willing that any should perish, but
that all should come to repentance. But the
day of the Lord will come as a thief in the
night; in the which the heavens shall pass
away with a great noise, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and
the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to
be in all holy conversation and godliness,
looking for and hasting unto the coming of the
day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire
shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt

Taken Away
No matter how far we put the thought of
death from our consciousness, that thought
continually lingers deep in the recesses of our
mind. We all have an appointment with death.
Not just ourselves but our loved ones, our
grandparents, our parents, a spouse, a child,
our friends. Some unexpectedly, some long
and drawn out, but it indeed comes for each
and every one of us. The Bible says, “And as it
is appointed unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) Are you
ready? For Judgment? Are those you know
and love ready? Have they been warned?
We all become far too familiar with
living in these mortal bodies. Often times we
forget that we are primarily souls in a body
rather than a body containing a soul. This is all
so temporary. When we are young we look to
the far and distant future, thinking we are
invincible, a day
of death that
seemingly never
will come. As we
gain age and time
begins to pass
quickly the
thoughts of our
mortal end begin to appear on our horizons.
Then in those final days, whether they be filled
with good health or poor, the day arrives.
Don’t get so used to living in this body of death
that you forget to take care of your immortal
soul.
Unfortunately, in all of the living we
mortals do very few of us give thought to the
second death. The one that will be there for
most of those who die physically. It will be a
day of horror and shock such as they never
experienced while in this body. This second
death need not happen. “He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches; He that overcometh shall not be
hurt of the second death.” (Revelation 2:11)
The Bible tells us there is a way out! It is
simply heeding the Word of God and His

this second death.
Death entered into life on this planet for
all of us as a result of sin, disobedience to God.
The Bible says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin
entered into the world, and death by sin; and
so death passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned.” (Romans 5:12) He lovingly and
mercifully gives us a gentle hint. The Bible
says, “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in
the first resurrection: on such the second death
hath no power.” (Revelation 20:6) Do you
have a part in the first resurrection that He is
speaking of here?
The famous Bible teacher and pastor,
Lehman Strauss, said, “In the day that thou
eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis
2:17) “There shall be no more death.”
(Revelation 21:4)
Between these two
statements in the
Scripture lie all
the efforts of
science to increase
the life span, the
consummation of
civilization, the
endeavors to build
a better world,
and all the joys
and sorrows of billions of individuals that
eternity alone has the record of. Hidden
between the covers of this record book is the
story of the whole human race cursed by the
fall of the first parent Adam. The surging,
aimless mass of lost humanity has been
impelled by fear - fear of the dark, fear of
disease, fear of the supernatural, fear of the
unknown, fear of death. The fear of death is
but the apogee of all fears. Men avoid it, hate
it, fight against it. The undertaker uses every
artificial means at his disposal to cover the fact
of it. Yet the fact of death remains and will
remain until that day when, through the
glorious power of Christ who was triumphant
over death, the scroll of heaven will be rolled
back, the saints of God shall enjoy the blissful
ages of eternity, and ‘there shall be no more
death’.”

Simply put, in order to avoid the second
death all one need do is be born again. Jesus
says, “Verily,
verily, I say unto
thee, Except a
man be born
again, he cannot
see the kingdom
of God.” (John
3:3) And I
repeat to you
what Jesus says following this, “Marvel not
that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
(John 3:7) And in that vein Peter wrote,
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but
of incorruptible, by the word of God, which
liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as
grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of
grass. The grass withereth, and the flower
thereof falleth away: but the word of the Lord
endureth for ever. And this is the word which
by the gospel is preached unto you.” (I Peter
1:23-25) By simply believing the Gospel, the
soul-saving message of the ages, and following
on with Jesus in obedience, you will not be
harmed by the second death as you will have
escaped it!

For those
who reject God’s plan of salvation, those who
spurn His great and abundant love and mercy,
death brings to an end their opportunity to be
reconciled to Him through our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. For us who have
surrendered to His Lordship and have endured
unto the end, overcoming sin, we with the
apostle Paul can say, “We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord.” (II
Corinthians 5:8) You will certainly one day die
here on this earth. But provided you have
become a partaker with Jesus Christ in the
resurrection unto life there is no need to fear
this death since it is not an end, it is rather a
grand beginning. Worry not, then, about being
taken away.

Burden of Proof
Nowhere in the Bible does God make a
claim to have to reveal or manifest Himself to
any man, woman or child in order to prove that
He indeed exists. All around us in the world we
live are those that demand proof or evidence of
everything. We live in an age that has the
greatest amount of information at its
fingertips. On the internet alone you can find
out the facts for just about anything or have

practically any question you might ask
answered. The amount of information passing
around the globe electronically minute by
minute simply stuns the imagination.
Nowhere does God indicate that he will
answer the demands of sinful man to prove
that He exists. He reveals Himself to us
through the work of His only begotten Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ, and the testimony and
testament of His life here on earth and the acts
of the men and woman who gladly followed
Him and became His disciples in the early
church all through the indwelling power of His
Holy Spirit.
It is by faith that we reach out to Him,
acknowledging our need for a great Savior in
response to the revelation and indictment of
our great sinfulness. So overwhelming is His
love for us that He overcomes our manifold
wickedness and evil hearts and has mercy upon
us when we reach out in this faith to Him.
Even this expression of faith towards Him is
His gift to us!
The burden of proof then has been met .
. . by God . . . in His holy Word. He alone is
the author of Truth, there is none other than
He. All else pales in comparison. Until Truth
is known of Him, there is no salvation, no
deliverance for
your soul.
He spoke
to Jeremiah,
“Call unto me,
and I will
answer thee,
and show thee great and mighty things, which
thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3) This did
God speak to the prophet while he was shut up
in prison. God acts upon an expression of our
faith towards Him. He never changes. As He
spoke to Jeremiah, He will speak to us. He will
do no less if you will reach out to Him in Truth.
Simply call unto Him . . . and He will answer
you. He will reveal unto you that which you
must do to be saved. He will reveal unto you
your Savior, the One Who will set you free from
the bondage of sin, death and Satan.
Our great and merciful God has revealed

we can see and handle in our hands, see with
our eyes and observe with our minds. In order
to state that He does not exist we have to deny
all the evidence He has placed around us in this
universe. He has a warning for those who
would deny Him and it is not to be taken lightly
as the eternal soul we are born with in this life
will go to a place either with Him or apart from
Him. Paul writes, “For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness; because that which
may be known of
God is manifest in
them; for God
hath shewed it
unto them. For
the invisible
things of him
from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so
that they are without excuse: because that,
when they knew God, they glorified him not as
God, neither were thankful; but became vain
in their imaginations, and their foolish heart
was darkened. Professing themselves to be
wise, they became fools, and changed the
glory of the uncorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible man, and to birds,
and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.”
(Romans 1:18-23)
God will not hide Himself from you. On
the contrary, it is His great love for each of us
that He has prepared an antidote to the sin
nature that we are born with and will carry us
to Hell if we do not find that place of
deliverance. See where He has said, “For
whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain
favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth
against me wrongeth his own soul: all they
that hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8:35-36)
How much plainer can He be?
In all of world history and in all of world
religion, Jesus is the clearest and only evidence
and most specific picture of God pursuing us,
sinful man! Can you grasp that? It is God Who
pursues us! Religion is man’s failed attempt to

find Him on man’s own terms. Jesus says, “I
am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John
14:6) No other man has come upon the earth
and done the things that Jesus has done (and
continues to do through His disciples) all in the
effort to reconcile man to His Father. The
greatest prophets this world has had to offer,
Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and others fall
far short since they only claimed to know the
way, saying of themselves that they were only
prophets and servants. Not one of these men
named or others claimed either to be God or in
the least way equal to Him.
As far as I can find out in my research,
the following quote is anonymous and
unfortunately very, very true. “For those who
know God, no proof is necessary; for those who
reject God, no proof is enough.” We wind up
preaching to the choir when we speak of His
existence to other believers. For those to whom
we address God’s existence who have no desire
to believe, it is akin to shoveling water against
the tide. Only and unless God’s precious, life-
giving Holy Spirit attends the heart of the one
to whom you speak, convicting them of their
sinfulness and need for a Savior, your words of
witness and testimony only serve to make their
condemnation more sure. Unless those words
take root and sprout at some later time and or
some other believer speaks the Words of Life to
them whit God attending the ministry, their

things through our familiar five senses? We

possess spiritual faculties by means of which
we can know God and the spiritual world if we
will obey the Spirit's urge and begin to use
them. That a saving work must first be done in
the heart is taken for granted here. The
spiritual faculties of the unregenerate man lie
asleep in his nature, unused and for
every purpose dead; that is the
stroke which has fallen upon us
by sin. They may be quickened
to active life again by the operation of the
Holy Spirit in regeneration; that is one
of the immeasurable benefits which
come to us through Christ's atoning work
on the cross. But the very ransomed
children of God themselves: why do they
know so little of that habitual conscious
communion with God which the Scriptures
seem to offer? The answer is our chronic
unbelief. Faith enables our spiritual sense to
function. Where faith is defective the result
will be inward insensibility and numbness
toward spiritual things. This is the condition of
vast numbers of Christians today. No proof is
necessary to support
that statement. We
have but to converse
with the first
Christian we meet or
enter the first church
we find open to
acquire all the proof
we need. A spiritual
kingdom lies all
about us, enclosing
us, embracing us,
altogether within
reach of our inner
selves, waiting for us
to recognize it. God
Himself is here waiting our response to His
Presence. This eternal world will come alive to
us the moment we begin to reckon upon its
reality.”

world is treating our
precious Word of
God. We must not
let them win by
permitting them to
think it is a
legalistic teaching
and preaching of
these Words that
make Christians
who they are. We
must be living
epistles that they all
may read and know
that God is indeed
alive in us and
therefore we live
unto Him.
