Dear Friends-It is with much sadness that I advise you that I was informed that
my cousin, Billy Dickinson passed away this afternoon. Billy and I
were just a few months ago in age -- we lived two blocks away
from one another -- we were at SJA together, till he moved to
Martin High for his junior and senior years, and from which he
graduated in 1959 -- and we roomed together at UT in Austin.
Billy was born William John Dickinson on January 23, 1942, to
Charles B. Dickinson () and Bertha Garza Dickinson. He
attended Ursuline Academy before entering St.
Joseph's Academy for 3rd grade and was there through his 10th
grade. After graduating from Martin High, he attended St. Mary's
University and the University of Texas at Austin. He married
Gloria Flores, his HS sweetheart, and they had four children:
William John Jr., Karen, Jennifer, and Alexa. Billy was a smart
guy and a lot of fun. He had a career as an Accountant, as were
his grandfather, his dad, his uncle John, his cousins John and
Paul, and his son. Billy was a family man who loved and lived for
his family. He also loved and lived for our Lord Jesus Christ. He
was a kind man who cared a great deal for others. He will be very
much missed. Please remember Billy and all who were close to
him in your prayers.
Our Father Who art in heaven, please welcome into Your
kingdom, our beloved brother Billy. He followed the footsteps of
Your Son Jesus Christ, and at every opportunity, he invoked Your
name with love and reverence. Like all of us, Billy lived his live
preparing for the moment that he would come face-to-face with
You. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in

peace and may perpetual light shine upon them. Also, O Merciful
God, please shine your light of grace on Billy's mother and
brother Charly, his bride Gloria, his children Billy John, Karen,
Jennifer, and Alexa, his grandchildren, and all his relatives and
friends who loved him that they may take solace in all the
beautiful moments that You allowed him to have with us. We ask
this through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Thank you and God bless us all.
In Jesus' love. --Johnny
