information and contains the site name, the author and publisher.

Evaluate the following Critical Thinking thesis statements based on the checklist above:

Sample 1:
Child beauty pageants hyper-sexualize children by requiring contestants to imitate
strippers; leads to eating disorders by overemphasizing unrealistic physical
characteristics; allows pedophiles to easily prey on future victims; therefore, the
National Pageant Association must mandate age limits.
Sample 2:
Child beauty pageants help kids build confidence, develop strong communication skills
and foster a healthy sense of competition in contestants and therefore participation
should be encouraged.
Sample 3:
The criminal justice system in the US focuses on punishment instead of rehabilitation,
was developed to target specific minorities, and attempts to mitigate the problems
associated with a lack of educational opportunities through high incarceration rates.
