Close of Conference

Dear Executive,
Amidst todays global volatile business environment, the role of the corporate Chief Financial Officer
is now far more challenging and evolving. Not only are CFOs required to move beyond their
traditional role of external reporting and increasingly being asked to help guide and improve business
performance, so adding greater value to their organizations, but the current economic climate in
Vietnam also necessitates that finance operations shift focus to maintain liquidity, managing risks
and business continuity, to name but a few.

KEY CHALLENGES FACING TODAYS CFOs/FINANCE LEADERS IN VIETNAM

Challenging financial times call for inspiring financial leaders. It has become ever-more challenging to
manage the financial health of your company, or business enterprise. As a CFO, you may now not only
be focused on managing profitability, but also simply concerned about how to keep your company, or
business operational. Cutting the costs and risks within the organization can help you survive
the downturn and be ready to grow at the first signs of recovery. Knowing what financial tools
and techniques need to be a part of your survival kit can determine your potential success and
sustainability. Therefore, top financial management need to learn the full range of financial skills
planning, control, treasury, risk management and investor relations expertise, as well as the strategic
skills to be a full business partner with the CEO on how to improve the corporate bottom line. The CFO
must also have the ability to balance finance needs with other company functions to optimize business
opportunities and improve operating performance. To succeed in this evolving role, CFOs must step
back, take a deep breath and determine which investments and activities are truly worthwhile by
