Objects in the Classroom
This lesson focuses on listening and
speaking. Activities are teacher-led
where teacher elicits words with the
phoneme /b/. There should be a lot of
encouragement for pupils to speak and
share. Teachers role is to facilitate and
provide a good environment for
listening and speaking to happen in
the classroom.
1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary
schooling, pupils will be able to
pronounce words and speak
confidently with the correct stress,
rhythm and intonation.
1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and
recite rhymes or sing songs with
guidance.
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be
able to
(i) talk about a picture
(ii) identify objects which has the /b/
sound

This lesson focuses on
reading. Activities are teacher-led
where teacher elicits words with the
phoneme /b/.
2.1 By the end of the 6-year primary
schooling, pupils will be able to apply
knowledge of sounds of letters to
recognize words in linear and nonlinear texts.
2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary
schooling, pupils will be able to
demonstrate understanding of a
variety of linear and non-linear texts in
the form of print and non-print
materials using a range of strategies to
construct meanings.

initial, medial and final sounds,
