Online ClassDojo Training Syllabus

This course is designed and created to teach you not only the basics of ClassDojo, but will guide you into
creating your own account. Tasks will be requested and emailed to me within a week of completing this
online module.

Course Objectives:
ISTE T 4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical
behavior in their professional practices. Teachers:
b. address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies and providing equitable access to appropriate digital
tools and resources
c. promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information
d. develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using
digital-age communication and collaboration tools.

ISTE T5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership


Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and
professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Teachers:
a. participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning
b. exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community
building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others
c. evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging
digital tools and resources in support of student learning
d. contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community

Course Outline:
1.

Watch the introductions to ClassDojo (you may print out the powerpoint to use as a reference, do not forget
to watch the PowToon presentation as well to get you familiar with what this program can do for your
classroom. List 3 benefits that you can utilize from this program to meet your classrooms needs. Email me
the list to my email above.

Watch the tutorial for ClassDojo. Using the tutorial, sign into ClassDojo.com and create your own account.
Be sure to add me as a parent under parent invites so I can take a look at your account.

Email me after a week, your classes report and any issues you may be having. These will be emailed to me at
the bottom of the modules page under Tutorial. I will also check your site to be sure that it has been set up
correctly. Try to customize any behaviors to fit your classroom.

Required Technology:
The technology required for this module is any computer, PC, or tablet device with a valid connection to
the internet. Also, participants my use their school email address when sending me any assignments or
questions. Word will also need to be utilized as well as a PDF program installed on your computer to
correctly utilize ClassDojos reports.
Instructor/Student Requirements:
Clear communication between instructor and participants is vital for the correct understanding and creation
of account, as well as answering any questions either party has. Please check emails for any feedback in a
timely fashion, as this is just a week long module (including turning in of any assessments.)
Timeline:
This is not a self-paced module, and creation of your account needs to be done within two days of the
module. You are to collect a weeks worth of class information to send to me, so I can assess whether you
are fully grasping how to use the functions of this program. You have a week and a half to turn in all
materials asked for in this program. Please contact me if you have any problems utilizing the email
