Personal- is travel using a vehicle owned by one person;


bikes, motorcycles, skateboards, mopeds, etc. most
common is automobiles.
Commercial- includes all the enterprises that move
people and goods for money. Include taxi, bus, truck,
rail, ship, and air transport enterprises. Owned by
government.

points.
Hub-and-spoke system- an airline system that
interconnects small local airports to large regional
airports.
Loading- physically placing cargo on a vehicle or
allowing people to enter it.
Moving- transporting people or cargo to the destination.
Unloading- removing cargo from a vehicle or allowing
passengers to disembark at the destination.
Speed = distance / time
10 miles = 10 mph / 1 hour
Time = distance / speed
Distance = time x speed
Time = 1 mile (distance) / 2 mph (speed)
Distance = 2 mph (speed) x hour time = 1 mile
Passenger arrival areas that allow vehicles from other
modes to unload passengers. Also, parking lots and bus
shuttle services are provided at many large terminals.
Processing areas where passengers may purchase or
validate tickets and check in luggage.

across state lines.
