Some people argue Law changes human behavior whereas some

disagree. Do you agree with it?

Laws are made by the Government for well-being of its people. They are made in
order to maintain peace and tranquility among people. Some people opine that laws
influences peoples behavior while others argue against it. This essay will express
full agreement with the former view i.e. strict laws govern human behavior; and will
offer myriad reasons to justify the view point.
There are manifold reasons to shore up my point of view. To begin with, there are
numerous countries with strict laws which aids them in achieving minimal crime
rate. A relevant example that I would like to draw on here would be the case of
Singapore, wherein drugs smuggling is strictly prohibited, and has a death penalty
for those who conduct such illegal activities. Therefore, such activities rarely takes
place in Singapore. This exemplifies that there is a positive correlation between laws
and human behavior.
Furthermore, a second instance illustrating the effects of law on peoples behavior is
the fact that in countries like the USA, spitting on roads is an offensive crime, which
are heavily penalised. Every citizen in that country is aware of this law and therefore
they rarely break it. Hence in absence of laws, situations can get worse and its
likely to create conundrums.
To recapitulate, penning down my thoughts, laws prevents people from getting
involved in heinous offenses and therefore aids in thwarting crime; Moreover, it
encourages people to help in smooth functioning of the country.
