Toledo, 9, Ohio*

January 1st, 1952

Dear Brethren t

Again it is our privilege to make a report of our expenditures of

the funds which you have so generously Cohtrihuted for the work of our Lord in
Italy*

As usual we are sending you an itemized list of the receipts from

your own state, receipts by states, and disbursements.

Should you desire a

list of the entire list of contributors, a few will be available upen request*
We do not send a complete list to each contributor because of the expense
involved, and knowing that you are usually interested in your own home state*
When the doors were open in Japan - we didn*t send missionaries,
later we had to fight Japan lit
We neglect^ Russia when,the-time-was ripe now that harvest
appears beyond reaping, at least for the present#

We feel that NOW is the time when Italy must be won for Christ,
if EVER#
We have two new reciuit families anxious to go to Italy as your
partners in Christ for this gigantic task. If we do not act now, it may be
too late.
With the situation os it is in Italy, we feel that we must work,

work and WORK, training native evangelists and other Christian workers, so
that if and when the time should come that we "foreigners'* are excluded from

Italy, our Christ will still have faithful laborers in His vineyard#
Are you willing that these families should go as your representa
tives in bringing the gospel to others in Italy?
As the church at Antioch SENT out Paul and Barnabas, so Christ
must depend on you to send out these workers#

Mac and Wilma Coffey and Patti are ready and anxious to go to
Italy when Betheen Grubaugh returns in January. Approximately JSOOOo^
are needed to make this possible*

months.

The Charles Troyer family will be ready to sail in about six

Eiis will take about |2000o00*

The Lord has blessed the efforts in Italy thus far, Bfore workers
are a MOST if we are to. accomplish the task that is before us, in the time
that MAY be left to us*

Actions of the Church in Rome (Catholic) gives us good basis for

believing that they are aware of their losses, and that they will redouble their
efforts to keep Christ from the common people# Wfll we give up, er will we
GO AHEAD WITH CHRIST?

Your continued prayers and financial support will give the answer*
Your fellow laborers in Christ,

Charles and Mary Frances Phipps, Evelyn Jones, Betheen Grubaugh,

Mac and Wi.lma Coffey, Charles and Jessie Lee Troyer#

Dear Brethren;

This letter will accompany the announcement of Brother and Sister Mayfield
and family, that they will return to the work in Italy in the summer of 1953.

pother and Sister Mayfield, who spent some time in and around Rome, while
in Italy haye felt very keenly for some time, the need of New Testament
Evangelization in that area, and are willing to again go out on faith that the
necessary support will be forthcoming.

They go out with a spirit of cooperation existing between the work established
at Ban and now being carried on by Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Phipps, Miss
Betteen Grubaugh and Miss Evelyn Jones, and the new work which is to be

centered in Rome, and certainly with the prayers of the Mediterranean Christian
ttot the Lord's Kingdom may be enlarged and more firmly

established in Italy because of their venture.
