1.0 INTRODUCTION OF PROJECT

Library is a place where, student are finding a book and do some work in there. Im very sure
that student are using another utility such as internet to find another information, which is not
available in library for example latest newspaper and more. As I know Library is the best place
to test the project that has been given and needed to analysis the performance of the network.

Network Testing is the actual measurement and recording of a networks state of operation over
a period of time. It involves recording the current state of network operation to serve as a basis
for comparison or control. While Network performance refers to measures of service quality of a
telecommunications product as seen by the customer (user).For Example of network
performance measures for a circuit-switched network:

In Circuit-switched networks, network performance is synonymous with the grade of

service. The number of rejected calls is a measure of how well the network is performing
under heavy traffic loads. Other types of performance measures can include noise, echo
and so on.

Although bandwidth is the bit-rate of available or consumed information capacity expressed

typically in metric multiples of bits per second. Variously, bandwidth may be characterized as
network bandwidth, data bandwidth, or digital bandwidth.
This project are needed to test Bandwidth, surfing, data transferred and how many time it takes
and Delay. It also test the time taken for data to transfer and Packet loss are also affect
throughout and Applications. I been assign to complete this project for 8 week and the Network
must been test to check the performance in our library college for at least 3 days to get the
result.

2.0 PROBLEM STATEMENT

Many Student are involves in this case, when most student uses internet it slowing other
people to surfing any information and do some work. Actually the most problem is, there are
not using it to find information but otherwise such as watching YouTube video, download
video (movie) and etc. High traffic load is also the main problem why is the pages is not
open because there are too many visitor are visit the same page. Sometimes high traffic

load is not the problem .It because the computer are using low configuration that are not
optimize and didnt detect any various problems.
To identify the representation of the problem suitable for evolutionary approaches.
Exploring the use of evolutionary algorithms in network routing and congestion control.
To compare the effectiveness of evolutionary approaches with the existing one.
To test the best time to use it.

3.0 OBJECTIVE
The aim of this project is to finding the best result to analyst the configuration at which
application that will give the best performance at a certain time. So that, Im choosing Ping
Test as my tool to test the performance of network. Less of people are using network are
more stability then many user and network managing are major goals in this project are
such:

Analyst the point at which the performance down and cause the problem.
Test the network stability in the production environment.
Application Response Time - Time taken to completes a task.
Configuration - The configuration with best performance
Regression - effect of new version on response times.

Capacity Planning - Point of Performance degradation.

Bottleneck Identification - Finding the reason for performance degradation.

4.0 Methods
In this section, the measuring network performance to make sure that Ping Test is meeting
the performance requirements of the Project. Network Performance consists of measuring
the bandwidth at each initiator thread, worst case and average latency of the CPU, and the
area overhead to achieve the bandwidth and latency.
Methods for measuring network performance parameters usually fall into two categories:
1. Passive
2. Active
Passive measurements are based on actual payload traffic in the network. They provide a
statement about the treatment of the current traffic in the observed network section.

However, passive measurements in high-speed networks often require the storage and
processing of very large amount of data.
Active measurements by generating the traffic needed to make the measurements, are
becoming increasingly important due its great flexibility, intrinsically end-to-end in nature,
and freedom from the need to involve core network switching elements. This active
measurement methods are typically used to obtain end-to-end statistics such as latency,
loss, and route availability. The method presented on this Network Performance focuses on
the application to active measurements.
I am choosing Ping Test as a network tool to measuring the network performance in Library
College. Furthermore, I need to test the network using Ping Test with same area and place
and repeat again for the three day. After that Im collecting data every three days and make
some report.

5.0 RESULT

In this result they are some detail that need to know such as Packet Loss Ping, Jitter grade and
IP address.

Packet loss occurs when one or more packets of data travelling across a computer

network fail to reach their destination.

Ping is main data that need to collect from the result.
Ping is response time that measure in milliseconds.
Jitter is frequency of signal. A lower jitter value is better.
Grade is level of the ping result.
IP address for network (telecommunication Provide.

STEPS TO GET RESULTS

They are few step that need to do to get the result
The experiment has been conducted over three days
Step 1: Using laptop.
Step 2: Activate Wi-Fi connection on the laptop.
Step 3: Connected the laptop with the library WI-FI
Step 4: Open pingtest.net or Google it.
Step 5: Click begin test.
Step 6: Start measure the Ping (response time)
Step 7: Get the result and Screen Shot it.

On the first day, I decide to do the test at library in our college because I thought library is
the best place where we can find a good time to use internet without slowing it. I do the test
three day, in the same place with different day, each of day Im testing three times on
different time. Im using the best application that will measure the response time. The result
that I got on the first day at 1.08 am is 139 ping that means the response time is 139
milliseconds and the Line Quality is D. This quality is not bad but sometimes need to wait to
surfing. The connection worked for any internet browser. On 2.55 pm, Im testing the result in
the same place and I got the response time is 78 milliseconds totally different and the Line
Quality is B. The Line quality is very good, different time made the best result. This quality
make student smooth surf any information. Testing to other server. On final test of the first
day at 5.29 pm, I got the response time is 82 milliseconds .Different with second time test is
not too much. The Line Quality is B as the result the network quality is very good to finding
information and also give advantage in different way such as streaming video will be fine and
give a good quality video.
On the second day, the first test at 12.02 pm and the response time I got is 469 milliseconds.
The Line Quality is F, the quality is Very poor, real-time internet application performance will
totally mess up and suffer greatly on such a connection bad connection for this time exactly.
On the second time, 3.26 pm. Im testing and got the response time is 85 milliseconds and
the Line Quality is C .Acceptable, your VoIP quality will suffer some and you will have a
disadvantages if you play online games. On final test for second day at 5.29 pm, I got 57

milliseconds and the Line Quality is B. I thought it was very good connection for second day
and this time surfing internet is fine at all.
And the last day test, on 12.04 am. I got the response time is 59 millisecond. For sure this
response time will give us Line Quality B like usual. The connection is incredible good. This
connection a giving staff advantage to their job without any slowing. On the second time test
at 2.36 pm, I got the response time is 57 milliseconds and this second test actually no more
different with the first test I got. Final Test for the last day at 5.19 pm. I got the response time
is 58 milliseconds and the Line Quality is B. It showing the connection is getting better.
Actually I thought this is the best day for everyone to use internet and the best performance
of all three day that I already test. This is analysis for three days that I has been collect, the
connection of the internet at the college library is not balanced.

7.0 Conclusion
Based on our observation, Network Performance can be measured at various levels.
Ping Test Performance can be implemented in various ways such as using various tools.
The practical understanding of Ping Test work and what are the parameters upon which
selection of a network is based. The main objective of this project has been achieved as
this is about the performance of Network in high speed long distance network. Analysed
it practically and drew a conclusion that Quezon City Server is better than Batam server
and Ho chi Minh City server .And this time I can tell everyone, actually SUNDAY is good
day and got the best performance of the three day that I already test to find information,
for example streaming video, download, and do some work without slowing because
SUNDAY is Public holiday so for sure there didnt attend on this day. The main problem
why every WEDNESDAY didnt get best result is actually that day is weekday and every
student, Staff or Lecturer must waiting for 5-6 pm to finish their class/work. And
Sometime there are going to library and do some research about their work. And
SATURDAY is Half day, sometimes student has a class on that day and finish for 12pm
and this time it give slower internet but not too much but staff must waiting it until 5-6pm
So only Staff and lecturer will using internet after 1pm. Finally the most of using internet
are student and the most of student who using it only just for fun.
