a. Invite the students to tell you the
differences between a typical computer
lab and the current computer lab. ( e.g.
many more PCs, teacher has 2 PCs, etc.)

challenging to do. Also ask them what
do they expect this HP Classroom
Manager to have to assist the teachers
in the classroom.
b. Allow for discussions that lead to their
teaching and learning processes only.

d. Show slide Classroom Manager, how
does it work for you?
e. Introduce the topics for the training.
f. Define what is HP Classroom Manager
(HPCM).
g. Show the interface of HPCM from the
slide. Explain some of the icons.
h. Show the difference between Teacher
View and Student View, side toolbar, top
toolbar and Control Window.
i. Let the students explore their toolbars
and guess what they mean.

WORKING WITH STUDENTS
BROWSING THE INTERNET
1. Invite the students to tell you the fear
when their students are allowed to
browse the Internet.
2. Make the students feel confident that
with the software, worries will be kept
minimum.
3. Show slide on Co-browse. Explain that it
gives you control Web browsing during
lessons and guide the users through the
web pages. When co-browsing,
students computers are locked.
4. Show Co-browse icon on the teacher
monitor.
5. Teacher keys in this
www.tourism.gov.my in the URL box. Get
the students reactions.
6. Ask the students to click any links. Get
their reactions.
7. Teacher shows the options lock,
restrict and free from the HPCM.
8. Let the students experience if teacher
clicks on Free option.
9. Get a few students to try out the
feature.

Click SEND WORK. Click Browse to

toolbar and select CHAT.
4. When the CHAT properties window is
displayed, select the students and click
OK.
5. Get the reactions from the teachers.
6. You can do the same with sending
messages to individual students or
entire class.
7. Click the COMMUNICATE icon and click
MESSAGE. Select the recipients and type
the message Hi how are you
today?....
8. Click SEND.
9. Nominate a few volunteers and try out
the feature.

YOUR SCREEN TO STUDENTS
1. The SHOW feature can let you show the
teachers screen to all students.
2. Teacher opens a document how do you
feel?
3. Click the SHOW menu icon on the top
toolbar and click SHOW.
4. Select the students, click SHOW.
5. The students should be able to see the
document on their screens.
6. To exit, select the SHOW menu icon in
the notification area and click END.

1. Show slide. A journal is a digital record
of key information that was covered
during class.

3. Click JOURNAL icon on the top toolbar
and select START JOURNAL.
4. In the START JOURNAL window, enter
your name and lesson title ( e.g.
Multiseat Training) and click OK. It is
automatically saved as PDF.

SHOWING VIDEOS TO CLASS
1. Show slide and talk about the
multimedia features that let the
students use multimedia features i.e
video, real-time audio monitoring,
virtual whiteboard, capturing images.
2. Click SHOW MENU icon on the top
toolbar, and select SHOW VIDEO.
3. Click OPEN and choose Video X ( from
the Training Materials Folder)
4. Select the students.
5. Click SHOW.
6. The video should be playing on the
students screens.

AUDIO FEATURES
1. Show slide.
2. Let the students know that teacher can
adjust the audio settings from the
teachers console.
3. Teacher demonstrates the procedure
Click the AUDIO ACTIVITY icon on the
side toolbar. Click VOLUME icon on the
bottom of the Control Window.
4. Use the sliders to adjust the volume,
lock student volume, or mute the sound
for both your computer and the
students.
5. Let the students know that teacher can
also monitor students audio activity.
Recording the students voice is also
possible.
6. Teacher demonstrates the procedure
Select the students. Click the AUDIO
ACTIVITY icon on the side toolbar.
7. Click LISTEN icon on the bottom of the
Control Window to begin listening to the
student. ( Get one student sing or read
something. )
8. Click STOP icon on the bottom of the
Control Window to stop listening. To
playback the recorded audio, click
RECORDINGS in the Audio Playback
window, doubleclick the file and play.

USING MULTIMEDIA FEATURES USING


THE VIRTUAL WHITEBOARD
1. Show slide to talk about Virtual
Whiteboard. Explain how it works and
ask the students how it can work in their
own classrooms.
2. Click INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD icon on
the side toolbar.
3. Teacher uses the annotation tools at the
bottom of the screen to create your
content.
4. Teacher click SHOW at the bottom of the
screen so that the students will be able
to see on their screens.
5. Save the document.
6. Click the INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
icon and in the student list on the right
side of the whiteboard, right-click the
student and select MAKE LEADER. This
enables the student to share/interact on
the same whiteboard.
7. You can also capture a snapshot of the
image and save it. You may want to
keep this to the Student Journal.
8. To capture, click CAPTURE icon on the
top of the View toolbar. Click Save.
