Submission
A soft copy of the complete manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc/docx) should be
submitted to the Chief Editor.The submission of manuscript will be taken to imply that it is
unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible
for requesting permission to use materials, for example, figures that have been previously
published and/or are copyrighted. In this case, permission forms should be included with the
manuscript.

Submission of articles to the journal is welcome at any time. Authors


interested in submitting a paper, should send the article using an
online submission. Submission should adhere to our guidelines. The
journal currently publishes yearly.
Authors are encouraged to use the Article template for preparation of
Articles. All manuscripts should be submitted to: Chief Editor,
Journal of Acedemia, Universiti Teknologi MARA Negeri Sembilan.
Papers are accepted on the understanding that they have not been and will not be published
elsewhere. Each paper is assessed by the editor and, if it is judged suitable for this publication,
it is then sent to at least two independent referees for peer review. Based on their
recommendations, the editor then decides whether the paper should be accepted in its current
form, revised or rejected.. Papers on acceptance become the copyright of the journal. To assist
publication, authors will be requested to submit a copy in Microsoft Word file of their final
manuscript via email. The journal will be printed in black and white.

PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
General Instruction

Journal of Academia accepts research/original article, short communications and


reviews article.
Manuscripts should be typed (with single spaced, Times New Roman (Font 11) on
one side of paper and usually should not exceed 12 pages in length.
In the text, scientific names should be italicized; do not underline any words.
Avoid excessive use of italics to emphasize text.
Use the Symbol Font for Greek letters and other symbols.
For mathematics equation, Equation editor must be used. Each equation should end
with a period or comma.

11. Acknowledgements (additional information concerning research grants)
12. References

TITLE

Titles should not be run within the text.


They should be typed on a separate line without indentation.
Use bold face, upper-case letter type for titles.

AUTHORS NAME

The authors first names should preferably be spelled out.


If the authors are from different institutions, a superscipt Arabic numeral, i.e., 1, 2, . . .
, n, which corresponds to the appropriate listed institution(s), should follow each
authors name.

AUTHORS AFFILIATIONS

Give adequate postal addresses including the name of the country.

ABSTRACT

The abstract should be clear, descriptive and not longer than 200 characters.
It should provide a very brief introduction to the problem and a statement about the
methods used in the study. This should generally be followed by a brief summary of
results, including any important numerical data (means and standard errors, for
example). The abstract should end with a conclusion drawn fron the study and theirs
significance of the results.
Figures, tables, and references should not be cited in the abstract.

KEYWORDS

Keywords should be chosen so as to best describe the contents of the paper.


Keywords, up to 5 in number, should be typed on the next line after the authors
abstract, starting with the headline keywords:
Each keyword, except proper nouns and acronyms, should be typed in lowercase
letters and italic and followed by a comma, except for the last one.

TABLES

Authors should take notice of the limitations set by the size and layout of the journal.
Large tables should be avoided.
Tables should be placed and typewritten in the text.
Each table should have a brief self-explanatory title & numbered accordingly.
Column headings should be brief, but sufficiently explanatory. Standard abbreviations
of units of measurement should be added between parentheses. Any explanation
essential to the understanding of the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom
of the table.

FIGURES

Figures should be saved in a neutral data format such as TIFF or ESP and a printout
should always be included.
All figures should be placed and typewritten in the text.
Figures should be numbered consecutively according to their sequence in the text.
Reference should be made in the text to each figure.
Each figure should have a caption. The captions to all illustrations should be typed on
a the manuscript. Explanation should be given in the typewritten legend.
Drawn text in the illustrations should be kept to a minimum.
Photographs are only acceptable if they have good contrast and intensity. Sharp and
glossy copies are required.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Thanks for grants, equipment, samples, etc. should be expressed in the


acknowledgment section.

REFERENCES

All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following
the text of the manuscript.

The manuscript should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of authors
names and the dates of publication are exactly the same in the text as in the reference
list.
If reference is made in the text to a publication written by more than two authors the
name of the first author should be used followed by et al..
References cited together in the text should be arranged chronologically.
The list of references should not exceed 25 for regular article and should be arranged
alphabetically by authors names, and chronologically per author. Papers accepted for
publication but not yet published should be cited as in press.
References concerning unpublished data and personal communications should not be
cited in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. Use the following system
for arranging your references:
