I am in the process of completing my final year at Virginia Tech, where I will earn a

Bachelors Degree in Public Relations. I am pursuing various internship positions at the moment
where I can contribute my strong writing, problem-solving, and technological skills. This
opportunity will allow me to make a valuable contribution to a companys mission while
continuing to expand my knowledge and grow further.
My academic background has provides me with a strong understanding of ethical public
relations and marketing principles. Through my education, I continue to develop and train my
analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills to powerfully convey ideas in various
situations. My knowledge in public relations campaigns has expanded after intently studying
various client case studies in my public relations curriculum. Courses I have taken have allowed
me to exercise effective public relations writing skills so I can better prepare for the work field.
One will find on my resume that I possess well-developed technological skills to complement my
effective communication skills. This wide range of skills can affect a multitude of in-office
activities or operations with companies.
I have worked with companies as an intern where I was able to translate what I have
learned in the classroom and apply those principles toward my career path. The two internship
experiences were some of the most challenging experiences I have had. I worked on test
marketing strategies, brand-awareness campaigns and product inventory from as early as 7 a.m.
to as late as 9 p.m., five days a week. Each experience tested my ability to work on a team of
account managers, my motivation and my patience.
Currently, I am the student assistant coach for the Virginia Tech HighTechs Dance Team,
and also am a dance instructor and office administrator for Dance.tech Performing Arts Studio. I
have danced for 19 years and am well-versed in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and precision dancing. With
my competitive drive, I have pushed myself to be the best athlete, leader and person I can be.
Dance has taught me more than just skill. It has taught me discipline, responsibility, and
commitment. Being a captain on my high school team and collegiate team has given be the
ability to act as a liaison between my coaches and teammates to make for a successful year. As
both a student coach for HighTechs and and office administrator for Dance.tech, I am responsible
for not only supervising and leading curriculum and practices, but I also develop marketing and
promotional events to attract prospects. I am in charge of coordinating publicity through social
media and live public outreach events a skill I have developed through my public relations
courses at Virginia Tech.
My academic skills are balanced by my willingness to learn and my ability to quickly
understand and apply new information. I am able to manage tasks simultaneously and my
persistence gets the job done. I bring a pleasant, energetic, and enthusiastic personality as well as
a hard working ethic to the table. Above all, I am passionate in everything I do. Passion goes a
long way. If you are passionate about something, there is no doubt you will be successful.
