"Noble dragons don't have friends. The nearest they can get to
the idea is an enemy who is still alive."
But it was far easier when you were over 55 feet of muscle,
wickedly intelligent, and could burn villages down with a single
huff (puffing was for wannabe wolves).
The world tended to throw itself into you, when you were a
Noble Dragon*.
NO.
"Well, I for one like it. I look rather dashing at age 25, don't I?"
If you got off me, I could better inform you. Where you sit
now I'm afraid I cannot see. The Dragon replied courteously,
but the man settled on top of the beast's head knew better.
A single path lead into the heart of the plains, and perhaps a
good month would pass before the arrivals to the bonding*
would actually arrive. The entire path was perhaps two miles in
width and stretched for all those miles, a product of a proud
mother who'd seared her children's entrance into the world with
flames and charred earth.

Zeph had heard strange rumours about a huge path leading off
into the grasslands, and his curiosity had been piqued. Was
there something dangerous out there? Or was it nothing but
another prank pulled by whatever powers that ruled this world?
Whatever the case, the Soul Reaper had started walking, scythe
resting on his shoulder.

The smell was... interesting. Kira sniffed the air. Human mixed
with dragon, just like her brother. Lifting her canine head, she
sniffed at the air again. She had been in wolf form hunting when
she caught the scent. Her guitar was propped up against a rock,
the string hanging loosely. Padding over to it, she slipped her
neck through the strap, stepping through with practice before
she set off, the instrument bouncing gently at her side.
Nose to the ground she followed the scent, pausing here and
there to lift her head and glance around, ever wary. There was
something else, she couldn't quite place it. Soon the ground
became some sort of path, the ground seared and charred.
Stepping onto it tentatively, Kira noticed that the smell was
getting stronger.
Soon, she found the place, ears flicked forward she paused just
within sight of the eggs and the dragon, staring at the large
beast in awe. She didn't even notice the other people, just the
great beast... and all those eggs.

"It could take your life, he said. You might just pass out from
fear, he said. Bah! I am a strong guy! I can handle anything!"
The Shiv'tsah grumbled, eyes a vivid shade of orange so dark, it
was only a few shades away from being red. He was annoyed
that someone else found him lacking. Pffft. As if he wasn’t as
good as everyone else! “Oh I just can’t waaaait to be kiiiiing!”
He sang, zig-zagging along the path.

Ari
Polished Villager
Ari ran on all fours, she preferred it to going on two legs. She
could go faster and didn’t trip up as easily. The pains were a
good place to run too. Not like that dratted forest. The were-girl
was happy to leave that place for awhile. Still, things weren’t
going too badly. She’d managed to survive so far. Sure, she was
still rather lost in this strange world, but she was beginning to
understand it better.
She found herself wishing for a moment that she had picked
some really fast form last full moon, a cheetah maybe. Oh well,
maybe next time. She’d have to remember how to find this
great trail again when she did.
Dust rose around her as she ran. After awhile, she got a little
tired of it getting in her eyes. So, without even slowing down,
she grew herself a pair of sturdy wings and leapt into the air.
Flying over the path was as fun as running on it. Ari let herself
enjoy a good long soar before flying high to get a better look at
where she was headed.
She noticed people on the path, both ahead of her and behind
her. That was interesting. Where were they going? For that
matter, why was she going there too? Then she caught a scent.
Or rather, she caught two scents which were decidedly more
interesting that usual.
The second scent was more bewildering than the first. It was
clearly vulpine, tainted with magic and a thick overlay of human
that would fool anyone who wasn’t used to scenting shape-
changers. Since her mother and her mother’s whole tribe were
shape-changers, Ari was more than just familiar with the
intricacies of their scents. Thinking about that gave her a pang
of homesickness and further incentive to fly ahead and see what
was going on.
Kallisto
Po l i s he d Vi ll a g e r
The path was long, but not particularly arduous. Trekking most
of her life in the dense, rainforest where visabiliy was near two
feet in front of you face, traversing on this open, wide plain was
nearly relaxing. Kallisto had chosen endurance over speed and
soon enough the air was nearly palpable with the scent of
charred grassland.
The tall feline sat on the ground, her long, striped legs folded
comfortably, the rounded ears on the top of her head up and
alert. She would wait until she was given permission to
approach the brood. She hadn't even glanced at them yet. She
knew dragons were protective of their eggs and that it was a
priviledge to even be here. So she would wait. For as long as
this dragon wanted, she would wait.
Tobias Creed
Po l i s he d Ai d e
They were all being cordial. Tobias was nothing if not adaptable,
but this was too much. At nearly 60, he had thought that his
desensitization had reached its peak. Perhaps he should have
allowed for the possibility of alternate dimensions and chicks
with fox tails.
He squared his jaw and stepped into place behind Kallisto. There
was only one small speck of familiarity to be found here, and it
rested in the ghoulish figure who had first arrived. "Zeph," the
old man growled, trying to worm his way around to the scythe-
holding abomination. He couldn't spend too much time looking
at the larger entities--the dragon in particular--without worrying
for his mental health. "What in the hell is this. Are they
dangerous?"
Renaud le Gant

Rene had just followed where Dee had told him to. Apparently
something big was happening as most of the people from
everywhere started to make the pilgrimage along the toasted
road. It took him a few minutes to not cry after seeing the
carnage, realizing that the creatures here didn't take the life of
grass and other plains-life as seriously as his people did. They
couldn't hear the weeping of the rest of the grass. Well, neither
could he at the moment, perhaps it was just the new work he
was in, the grass wasn't as loud here. He blinked at the growing
crowd, along with what was beyond that as he stood over part
of the crowd.

Damien trekked into less familiar territory, the plains were flat
and wide, and Damien slowed to walk nervously between twisted
trees and dry grasses, finally he stumbled onto a road, there
were a lot of people walking in the same direction. This was
strange but perhaps there was a reason for this, he followed
behind them, shuddering at the sound of distant roaring.
Damien was transfixed by the sight, and waited with the rest of
the crowd with baited breath, though he didn't know what he
waited for.
Jessari
Opaque Deleted Member
It had only been a few days since Jessari had been ripped from
her homeplanet and sent tumbling into a haystack. Since then
she'd been wandering from place to place without any real plan
in her mind. It was hard to motivate herself to make a survival
plan when she'd lost everything she loved in life.
Jessari tossed her head, black hair flying in the wind as she
shook away the memories that threatened to crack her in two.
Flying in strange skies was dangerous enough; doing the same
while crying was doubly so. Desperate for a distraction, she
allowed herself to drift lower, taking her first good look at the
dark earth beneath her. It was easier to tell from up here the
pattern that lay on the ground. It was like no path she'd ever
seen, and curiosity drove her to follow it.
At the end of the path, the S'kytri discovered the creature she
assumed had constructed the enormous scar. She should have
been afraid, but she felt an odd urge to fly closer, to land and
approach the creature. She'd had urges like this before, the
insistent pushing of her sixth sense that wouldn't allow her to
rest until she followed. It had been quite a while since she'd felt
it. The last time had been just before...
Pressing her lips tightly together, Jess pulled her wings in tight
against her back, spine straight as an arrow. Like a black and
blue missile, she shot towards the earth, the wind trapping her
arms at her sides. At the last moment before impact, she
snapped her wings out wide.
She ignored the pain that screamed through her limbs as her
forward motion was abruptly halted, focusing instead on the
daunting task of touching her feet to the ground without losing
her balance. Once that was done, she moved towards where she
had seen the great dragon.
It wasn't long before she reached it, and it surprised her to see
the large clutch of eggs lying nearby. As wide, blue eyes viewed
the colorful ovals, she felt the odd pull again. Whatever had
drawn her to this place had done so because of these eggs. So
intrigued and curious by this feeling, the S'kytri completely
forgot about the other people present, and even the adult
Dragon.
Mercy

Mercy peered over the edge of a small hill, in awe of what she
saw in front of her. She’d never seen a full-grown dragon
before, and she had a feeling that this one was even bigger than
normal. Pure black, it towered over everything around it. This
was definitely going to put a dent in her plans. Narrowing her
eyes, Mercy cautiously stood and moved out of the cover of the
hill. The dragon didn’t seem to be looking her way at the
moment, so she dodged sideways behind a bush that was
slightly closer to the dragon and the nest it was apparently
guarding. And the eggs! There were so many of them to choose
from, each with its own size and look and feel to it. If only the
huge dragon wasn’t there…
Mercy’s whole plan was to find a dragon egg and take it back
with her. It would hatch, and she would bond with it, and it
would be what she wanted. But how could she steal a dragon
egg with that creature looking on?
She noticed with a start that there was a man here too, perched
on the dragon’s head. Why would a person be here? Glancing
around, Mercy realized that there were lots of people here,
some shy, some actually approaching the dragon. The only
reason this would be true would be if the eggs were about to
hatch… if there was going to be a bonding.
Well, this way she would have more competition than she
wished for when bonding with a hatchling, but at least it was
more legitimate. No one could accuse her of anything if she
actually got a dragon like everyone else, through bonding. She
decided she might as well give it a shot.
Nervously, she stood and walked out from behind the cover of
the plants, into sight of anyone watching.

Search me out, I drum the sound
Twist and turn in the night
Dragon come, my guiding light.
“I wonder what all the talk is about.” the light voice trilled
through the air as the youngling angel sat high up on a bare
branch. Her eyes flickered here and there seeing the charred
earth and the large mound of dark blackness nearby though
didn’t connect the two. Furrowing her brow she watched as one
by one people made their way toward the large dark hill auras
anxious, some even frightened as they did so, “What is going
on over there?” She murmured to herself.
Ever curious the young woman stood on the branch, spread her
wings, and made a leap into the air. Nimbly climbing higher with
each pump of her wings the angelette decided within that she
needed to find out what the source of all the anxiety was about.
High above the darkness below she circled slowly around the
gathering and all of the sparkling gems nestled near the coal
black hill. It wasn’t until she was directly above the curious
darkness did she realize with a start that it was no more a hill
than she was a bird-brained gull. That “hill” there was a
-“Dragon.” She muttered shocked.
Now about dragons, she knew very well they could be dangerous
though she also knew that dragons had a wide range of
emotions and could be sweet as taffy. Angling her wings just
right the planet sent creature circled slowly to the ground
before very nearly skipping toward Kallisto who sat near the
large black dragon and his bond. Looking to the draconian she
put a finger to her lips as if to tell him not to give any hints to
the feline woman before him. The auras around her were nearly
too much so sneaking up behind she nimbly leapt onto Kallistos
back she relaxed in the calm she felt near the tigerwoman.
Winding her wings around so that they covered her friends eyes
she giggled lightly, “Guess who?” She chimed.
Turning her eyes to the large father she nodded her head both
in thanks and in respect, “Hello sir, I hope you and your
family are well.” She spoke with the utmost respect despite
practically hanging off the tigers back. When speaking of family
she referred both to the brood and his bond who stood close.
Bowing her head in respect she dropped off the back of the
tigress to crouch next to her, wings arched so they didn’t drag
on the ground. Now it was time to wait, no?

The boy decided to speed up a little bit, and bent down and
pumped his legs beneath him. That is, until he saw the hulking
figure that is a dragon. He turned abruptly to stop, but kept his
eyes on the hulking figure, impressed. So this, this was an
actual dragon that he’d heard about at the tavern. It was huge,
it looked pretty awesome. Skating along, continuing on the path
towards where the beast lay, he looked to see what was going
on. As he neared, he saw a large group of people and, eggs. A
little over a score of them, all within daddy’s protective body,
eggs, and people. What was this all about?
Ore eventually pried her eyes off the egg and looked around for
any one familiar. There was that strange were-girl... And then a
few others seemed a bit familiar, probably not many people she
knew were here. The halfling sighed it would seem that just
waiting here would be as boring as the walk over.
Theo
Opaque Villager
The Noble Dragon’s roar sent a tremble through the plains, the
ground shaking, the grasses flicking and swaying, but the sound
naturally unable to reach all those miles to Isnit. However,
something swept over Theo that day—a month before the
bonding itself. A bodily chill waved down his figure as he
inspected what was called a lake for the first time. Water itself
was a very odd thing, but what was even stranger was that no
ripples creased the surface of the liquid as the Homunculus’s
own body quivered once. What was that? Why had such a
feeling of something happening washed over him?
Theo had been trying to keep his sensations under control, but
the more adapted to this environment he became, the higher
number of intuitions he experienced. He was unsure if others
felt the same way, but somehow he knew he was a bit different.
Hell, everyone was different—he had seen extremely unique and
wonderful things around Isnit. But in this sense, the way he
naturally responded to occurrences in nature (all aspects of
nature), he felt that he was alone. Now, this wasn’t necessarily
a bad thing; Theo simply wished that he could have power over
his feelings instead of them ruling his body. He had a disturbing
theory.
---
It was a few days later. Theo was taking his time in making his
way over towards the plains, where he had felt beckoned ever
since that impulse shook him. Instead of cutting across town, he
had wrapped back around, through the forest (which he quite
liked) and was now moving through the uneven, unfamiliar
paths of the mountains. This particular night was misty, the
aftermath of a small storm that had raged for a short while on
the Eastern shores. It was in a small crevice, not quite deep
enough to be called a cave, where the Homunculus sat, head
buried in arms that rested on his lap.
---
Deep black eyes settled on the burnt black path. Theo could see
another humanoid off in the distance, back turned to him as
they moved towards the North. The charred earth was somehow
encouraging, guiding. Setting a bare foot against the bumpy ash
gave him a silent shove. This was obviously meant to be
followed; it was what had called him forth all those days ago,
while he was experimenting with a strange substance called
liquid.
“Noah.” The name was mumbled under his breath, the name and
idea of the boy calming his racing mind that had not settled in
days. Anticipation rose within him, knowing he was close. He
could feel it through every limb.
Indeed he was, for that day he reached the giant black pit that
was his apparent destination. Theo had probably made it there
faster than any others, considering he was sprinting almost the
entire way. That had only sped up the deterioration of his body,
but that was no matter. There had been something in him that
told him he needed to run, needed to get there.
His pace slowed to a walk as the gathering came into view, feet
stained black from all the ash that had been consistently
smashed against his skin. The site of that many humanoids was
unsurprising, as he had seen many more crowded among the
Weyrd. It was the large, ebony Dragon that was curled around a
multitude of colorful (and some not so much) eggs. The figure
of Kisten on the beast’s head did not go unnoticed, but that was
hardly as brilliant to Theo’s eyes. It was a beautiful sight,
something that simply felt important to the Homunculus, as if
he was meant to be here and couldn’t take a calm breath until
he was. The desolate landscape might have normally crossed
through Theo’s mind, but it was perfectly evened out by the
fresh life that pulsating throughout all the unique shells.
Calmly, the man drifted into the gathering of people. His dark
gaze was ripped off the Dragon and his eggs, drifting over the
faces and bodies of the strangers he passed. They were all in
varied states—some confused, some excited, others even bored.
Theo was…well, for now, he was simply here. He was certainly
not bored, too calm to be ‘excited,’ and too accepting of the
aura of the world to be confused. He wished just to be, and
would react only when it was clear what was happening. Things
would run their course and he would let them, for it was a
mystery how much longer he would survive.
A hand was lifted from his side, giving a couple pats to the
lower back of Noah.

She didn't like this one bit and with every step she was getting
more and more curious as to just why she was taking the time
to make it all this way. Anyone could have seen the whisps of
smoke coming from the plains--heck, a blind man could have
smelled the ashes in the air.
Well, perhaps not. She had her wolfish senses to thank for that
one. But there was definitely something weird going on here.
Even among the ashes and smoke she could smell the faint
scent of new life. Which was, it just so happened, why she was
even going to all this trouble in the first place.
Upon her arrival, however, she found that her prior thoughts on
this area were far from fact. No, instead their was an enormous
beast at the end of a charred pathway; surrounded by eggs and
humanoids. Her bi-colored eyes narrowed and she felt a growl
rumble up into her throat.
But she was here now, and with no real foliage to hide within it
would make a quiet retreat nearly impossible. No foliage, that
is...except the plant-man who towered over most of the rest of
the group. He was hanging back and with good reason--the
lizard was huge and...well just look at what it had done to the
landscape. What the heck was he thinking?
"I don't like this one bit." She said softly, eyes moving
between the eggs and the parent-creature protectively circled
around them. She didn't look up at Renaud, not seeming to care
if he recognized her from the Inn or not. The important thing
was that she recognized him...the secondary thing was her
curiosity as to why he would have willingly traversed up the
charred road given his...state of being.
Thomas

Tom was out walking today, as had become usual for him. He'd
probably traversed quite a bit of the surrounding area before.
But he had never seen this path before.
He was standing on the side of it, glancing up one way and
down the other in an attempt to figure out where it was going.
He was travelling light today - he'd taken to leaving his gun
behind a while ago, and all he had was his pack containing the
few possessions he had: a compass, a pocket knife, a blanket,
and some rations. His blue uniform jacket was unbuttoned in
deference to the heat of the day, revealing a clean white shirt
beneath - he'd finally found someone in town who could wash
his things properly. There were a lot of people on this path,
which was another strange thing; he didn't usually see very
many people out and about. They were all heading in the same
direction, too. Tom watched as another went by and shrugged to
himself. "Ah, what the hell."

"Cheese and salt pork will be, though! And the skillet? Why do
you need a skillet, Jim?"
"I ain't chasin' nothing! Look, if you cain't help me, I'll
find someone else..."
Just when the Plains seemed like they'd never end, the rocks
started. Archer was singing 'Lily of the West', voice loud in the
clear air.
He didn't see the eggs until he was much closer -- too close, he
realized, to run now if the Dragon wanted food for the children.
Resignedly he sidled up to the mass of people gathered there,
joining them in peering at the eggs. He'd been collecting eggs
from his family's henhouse since he could follow his sisters. No
egg he'd ever seen looked anything like these, and it wasn't just
the sheer size that baffled him. The colors. Every shade of the
rainbow, and most of the ones in-between, too! They're just
rocks, then. Ain't no eggs at all, he thought stubbornly, but his
eyes strayed back to the massive jaws of the clutch's guardian.
Old stories spun in his head. No, they're somethin' special, all
right. Dragons only ever guard three things: treasure,
princesses, and other dragons. And I don‘t see no gold or
damsels.

Orchid had been super psyched when she first started out in this
place, called Isnit. She had believed it to be a region- but
slowly she learned that maybe, just maybe, this wasn't a place
of Pokémon. She was becoming slightly sad too, because she
hadn't seen heads or tails of her Pokémon yet. She was all alone
now, without her friends :(
But thankfully there were other people there, and she slid
behind Evangeline, a person whom looked familiar. "Hide

Kira wasn't the only one out and about on four paws today.
Kythen had been exploring closer to the plains in search of deer
or some other large herd animal that he could hunt to diversify
his diet. Thus far he'd had lots of rabbit, a squirrel or two and
he'd caught a mouse at one point that had promptly bit him on
the nose and escaped. There was also that exploding rabbit-
squirrel-thing he'd tried to catch at one point. But nothing more
than that. He was sure he could get other food in the village
(fruits, veggies, stews etc.) but had yet to actually venture into
the town simply because he didn't feel the need to. He found
enough out in the wilds all on his own.
There was a roaring coming from the fields area. That was
where he was heading and he hesitated. It sounded much larger
than just some big cat. Was there danger? Was it safe? Should
he investigate? Uncertain, he paced a bit as his human part
urged him to take a look. They'd stay to the edges of the plans
and they could look from a distance. If it was danger they could
run and if it was safe they could get a closer look. It was an
intruder afterall.
With the scents of the only two beings he'd really talked with in
his nose, he ran down the path, the possible danger to himself
forgotten. He slowed to a trot as he reached the fields and
sniffed again. They were here all right, as were the others
whose scents were on the same path. He could see them, still a
short ways away, standing about and looking at something. It
seemed to be a large hill but the scents told him it was
something alive and reptilian.

So... this was the best place to collect Juice of Grass alright. For
miles and miles and miles and miles there was nothing BUT
grass. Opal smiled to herself and began collecting fist fulls of
the stuff and chanting a mismatched rhyme.
"Seventy-three stalks,
the Salt with fried stalks,
The Lemon with Salt and stalks.
It makes your stomach churn."
True this had absolutely nothing with the reason why she was
collecting grass juice just then, but it gave the witch something
to say. It had been at least a month since she'd encountered
another life form (that didn't include the local butcher with his
weird glass eye and creepy smile), and imagine her surprise
when she turned from the tall stalks that easily towered over
her.
Not too far she saw an insane amount of people, their blurred
shapes surrounding something even more massive than their
numbers. Squeezing a particularly tough stalk of wheat, its
strange liquid dripping into a special vial, Opal craned her neck
this way and that, her steps bringing her closer. She noticed
now, that all of the shapes were humanoid, and upon even
closer inspection, that all of them had somehow found
themselves a large Dragon, who in turn had wrapped itself
around a clutch of..eggs.
Nyx

All she knew for sure, was that she was bored. Nyx, the young
Jackalope, didn't exactly know where she was going. Her
constant travels and misadventures with poor wild animals
always left her in random areas which left her completely
distraught on how she ended up int he certain area int he first
place. Today, the usually 'nude' anthro had finally decided to
wear a little bit of cloths. Very little. Instead of the usual spiked
belt that she usually wore, Nyx had pulled up some jeans.
Finally. But that's about it. Her fur covered areas that needed to
be covered rather well. So no one would mind if she didn't wear
a shirt... Nor a bra.. Would they? Heck, why did she care! there
was nobody... Look at all the people!
She had never seen so many different species of... Of... Living
species in her life before. Her silver eyes stared at this large
group for quite a while. She was surprised that she didn't their
scent until now. "Ews... Demons and humans smell stinky
together..."
She pouted, covering her nose immediately when she had taken
the scent deeper. Why did human and demons cents smell so
weird to her together! Should demons like.. Eat humans or
something? She closed i on the crowd. Finding there were much
more then just humans and demons, but did she really care of
the other species while her mind was so set to figure out what
they were all looking at? No, not at all.
It was hard to see beyond the crowd. She wasn't exactly short,
but it didn't mean everyone else wasn't tall or crowding
whatever they were staring at. She wanted to complain, tell
everyone to make room. But it seems like everyone seemed to
be.. Much too interested in what seemed to be happening in this
particular spot and is that a dragon?! Her mouth opened, gaped.
Never in her life, had she ever, seen something so huge. So
powerful looking before! "Oh my gosh! It's a giant lizard...
With wings!" She squeaked. The name dragon never occurred
to her. The urge to tap someone came into mind, to ask them
what was going on and why they were staring at this big lizard
thing. Did they never see one before? Was it famous? they
wanted an autograph?
After a few peeks, and squirming searching for her own place in
the crowd, she finally was able to see what they were all indeed
staring at. "Aww..." She cooed, her small cotton tail waggling
in delight to see the many different colored eggs, in all different
shape and sizes huddled against the dragon. Eggs weren't
exactly sure, but babies of anything were cute, weren't they?
There were so many! Did these people wanted to come and say
hello to the babies? Would people really come to the middle of
nowhere just to do that. Wow... Well, she wanted to say hello
too!

The lone man belted out the lyrics to the old classic as he
wandered vaguely down the mysterious empty highway. No, he
wasn’t drunk—just bored. Bored and hungry. Donovan had run
out of food a day ago, and though he was no stranger to hunger,
he was certainly a stranger to the area he currently found
himself in. Having spent his entire life in crowded, urban
environments, he found the huge lonely stretch of scorched land
rather, well, boring and horrible. Nature and wilderness is great
and all that, but so is not dying of starvation. Perhaps it was his
foul mood talking; Donovan had come quite unprepared for the
long hike. His stomach hurt, his head hurt, his feet hurt, his
back hurt, his hands… actually, his hands felt fine. Donovan
liked his hands. They were very useful things. He decided to
reflect upon the usefulness of his hands for a while. It was a
very poor distraction.
The second thing that came up in his mind was relief that he
was obviously not the only one worried about becoming a snack.
Donovan approached the crowd, trying not to look at the
humungous flying lizard for fear that it might stare back at him.
He snaked his way through the people to catch a glimpse at
what they were all looking at. Eggs! Colorful eggs! It was an
Easter dragon! So this is why all these people walked all this
way on this stupid giant endless overcooked road: it was to
snatch a baby dragon. Of course! This entire time he had been
vaguely worried he’d been tricked into following some weird
dragon suicide cult into the desert, but now he was almost
certain that wasn’t the case. Not entirely certain, but almost
certain. Donovan’s fingers itched to reach out and touch one of
the eggs, to feel the texture of the shell and the warmth of the
creature inside. Instead, he found a nice rock to sit on.
Normally, he would try to mingle and ask someone what was
going on, but he really wasn’t sure he had the presence of mind
to make intelligible conversation at the moment.

Across the plains it was easy for the Noble Dragon to detect the
arrival of others, his keen nose and narrowed eyes turning from
one to the other. The numbers were relatively staggered at
times, but the more that came, the more that lingered. A
plethora of looks were given to the beast and many less to the
one that perched contentedly on his head.
While the young man was content to smile and wave down at
the arrivals, the Dragon's lips curled into a snarl and he
wrapped his tail tighter around the clutch of eggs. One great
wing unfurled partially to cover them up and keep the
humanoids from viewing the treasure he and his mate had
painstakingly guarded for some time now. Just by showing up,
they thought they might somehow be worthy?
"The Noble Dragon, Mikal, extends his greetings to you all. His
beautiful mate shall be here in a little while; she has been busy
preparing for this day." As much as he wanted to greet his
peers, it would likely get him smited to announce his name to
them. "While you can't touch the eggs, you are permitted to
stare at them as much as you'd like. Please maintain a large
distance between yourself, Lord Mikal, and his clutch. Around
the other side of him, I have prepared some water and meat to
feed the hungry Dragonets. Use proper caution when near a
Hatchling, and keep your hands and feet away from their
mouths at all times. We are not responsible for any maulings,
maimings, or deaths that occur through misuse of our
instructions."
"Thank you, and good luck!" Kisten chimed in with a sexy little
grin and wink that felt as though it was directed to you and only
you.
Long, tapered wings remained stuck tight to its body, but a bit
of fussing let them loose as they flared out to either side. This
was much better than that cramped place, he decided as he
hunkered down against the ground and allowed his wings to dry
a little further, eyes closing softly.
It did not take long before she joined the duo, rumbling a hello
to them and the humanoids as she stalked forward. Born with a
plan, it seemed, the Saucy Plains Dragon stalked forward
towards the humanoids without hesitation. Tail swinging and
little wings flared up proudly, the babe wandered into the midst
of the humanoids before plopping onto her haunches and
creeling. An accompanying roar from her stomach made it
obvious what the hatchling was after.
If you choose to grab some meat, you may assume that Kisten
gave you some to take back to the front, rather than wait for
me to reply saying he did. x3

When the man jumped down off the dragon's head and began to
give his instructions, Tom realized that he really had absolutely
no idea what was going on, though whatever it was, it was
apparently rather dangerous. Well, what else is new? he
thought, sighing to himself. Ever since coming to Planet, he'd
gotten used to being constantly baffled and possibly in mortal
danger. Finishing up, the man grinned and winked, as if
directing it right at Tom. The younger man quickly turned his
attention to the eggs. Awkward, too; he often felt awkward
here.
The third dragonet was not as calm as the first two, nor did it
make any attempt to keep near its parent. Instead, it stalked
directly into the crowd and sat, crying out loudly. Tom's
eyebrows went up, impressed by the young creature's
straightforwardness. It was obviously hungry, and from what the
man had said earlier, the guests were expected to feed the
young ones. Well, why not? Tom stood and went over to the
table, grabbing a few large chunks of fresh meat. Returning, he
remembered the warning about the hatchlings and dropped into
a crouch a few feet away from the Plains Dragon, gently tossing
a piece of meat towards her.

Looking around at all of the others, she could see that they
were just about as slack jawed as she was, but she recovered
quickly, stepping past Zeph and Thomas, who had already
tossed his first little morsel.
She wondered if that were such a good idea, as she picked her
own slice of meat. What was this? Cow? Chicken? Rabbit? It was
red, so not poultry. It was thicker, darker and with a healthy
white line of fat at the edges. Warm certainly, but not hot like a
living animal. She smiled at her selection and went off to garner
even more, the vial of Grass extract forgotten on her neck.
The pieces weren't overly bloody, and in fact it was much like
what she would bring home from the market nearby her home.
It was slimy and even a bit gritty. Most definitely wholesome for
a baby dragon. She nodded to herself and muttered something
about the nutritional value of such meat and walked back to the
front.

And there was more! More, but now tiny little Dragon lizard
babies that seemed to be the cutest little thing that she had
ever seen! She had been curious what kind of dragons would
have hatched from the other eggs, but the first hatchlings were
adorable and at this point, she really didn't care. She glanced at
the others, she could only wonder if they were going to go up to
them? They all seemed to cute!... Not very cuddly, but cute
enough to deserve a cuddle! "I want to.. Play with them..."
Nyx finally decided, nearly skipping over to the table she had
last seen the man go to to pick up a slab of meat as well. She
sniffed it once before flinching. It didn;'t smell really
appetizing, but hey, it was baby giant lizard food wasn't it?
"Baabbiiees! Ffuuudd!" Nyx cooed, skipping over to the
female dragon that seemed to be already fed. "Awh... The
others must be hungry too.." She concluded after a moment
of watching the baby dragon eat. So she went to pick up more
from the table. Maybe four or five heavy slabs... It was the
most she could possibly handle. So with a not so graceful turn,
she skipped over to the female dragonette... Dragonet...? Either
way, she went to the more social little dragon and placed a slab
in front of her. "Yew know, you're really cute and pretty.."
She hummed, wondering if there was a way to actually resist
hugging this tiny little dragon.
No... The big daddy dragon wouldn't like that would he? so with
a frown and mostly ignoring the other crowd, she dropped
another slab in front of the female dragon before skipping to the
rest. She first made her way to the Recalcitrant Water Dragon,
the little male seemed so adorable as well. With a small smile,
she dropped a slab of meat in front of him as well. "Yew must
be hungry too, right?" She hummed before turning to the 'A
Fairy Tale Come True Egg' hatchling as well. She figured they
must be hungry. Weren't all babies hungry when they hatched?
Surely they wouldn't wanna play if their bellies constantly
grumbled... They might... eat her... Maybe!
As she was ready to go and give the other babies a slab, the
little Jackalope skipped forward, but somehow, in some odd way
lost her fotting as she tripped on one of the egg shells. Large
slabs of meat flying, the little rabbit.. .Deer.. Thing, found
herself falling tot he floor, her large quantity of meat falling
with her. "That... hurt.." She mumbled, The slabs of meat that
fell with her fell in all directions. On top of her, on her little tail.
One got stuck to her antler!... How lucky was she! "I smell like
giant lizard baby food!" She wailed, seating herself up as she
tried shook the meat off of her. She smelled stinky! Her poor
fur!
Kallisto

Kallisto heard the approach. The soft flutter of wings, the light
shuffle of tiptoeing feet. But still the tigress did not turn, even
if her mood lightened a touch. The approach was heard, but the
assualt was a surprise. The feline gentle held the girl's arm to
keep her from falling over, mindful of her claws. The tigress'
chuckle held the slightest edge that seemed to purr and when
her attacker slid down to sit next to her, kallisto turned her
green eyes to the girl. "Evangeline." And Kallisto smiled her
small, soft smile. So she had come to see the dragon's as well.
If she bonded with one, Kallisto would feel a lot better about
the little femme's safety. She was pretty sure she could keep
Evangeline safe while at the bonding. Her tail swept contentedly
behind her.
Renaud le Gant

Renaud had been watching more and more people arrive at the
nest, feeling somewhat drawn to them now that he was there.
They were beautiful, of all shapes and colors, but the large
'dragon' as everyone was calling him, was quite intimidating. He
heard a familiar voice and looked down to find Kallile standing
there. He smiled, then shrugged a little at her comment. "It
doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary here." He said,
sounding much more sober than he had the last time they had
crossed paths. He craned his neck, ears flaring as someone
started to talk about the dragon and his clutch. They couldn't
touch the eggs but they could feed the little ones that came out
of the eggs?
The creeling of the young one that had wandered into part of
the group make him turn his attention to her. He saw that she
was already getting chunks of meat from someone and moved
over, offering him a few more pieces with a smile before turning
his attention back to the hatching clutch. "Want some?" Rene
asked teasingly of Kallile as he picked up one of the chunks of
meat before tossing it towards one of the hatchlings as he
moved in a little closer. He was getting braver since he had
fallen onto Isnit and he wasn't going to let this chance go by.
Kallile
Polished Villager
Well, she wasn't about to get lost in this crowd when it seemed
like everyone on Planet was here for the event. She reached out
and grabbed Renaud's hand just before he had slipped into the
crowd, feeling a little surprised that he seemed so much calmer
and in control than he had the first time they'd met. It was a
pleasant surprise though--muscle-heads got annoying after a
while. That and life on Earth hadn't offered her many chances to
be around anyone other than jerks, muscle-heads, and general
'tough guys'.
"I don't think we're missing too much yet." She said as she
followed after him, still apprehensive to this entire thing. But it
was far too late for that; they were at the font of the line and
the smell of the new babies and raw meat overpowered her
senses. She released Renaud's hand quickly and took a swift
step backwards as she realized her mouth was watering at the
smell of the bloody meat. Dammit.
She carefully pulled a few pieces from the bowl before the
chance had passed her by, but she did not offer any of it to the
hatchlings. Not yet with others fawning over them. She still had
a feeling deep in the pit of her stomach that there was
something not right about this...and these dragons shouldn't
even be real and crawling around before her eyes.
The little dragons had tumbled out of their eggs and were
looking to mooch some food off of someone. Solus’ helmet tilted
to the buffet of meat and other assorted goodies that had been
set out for the dragons. He stood slowly, brushing off his armor
as though a great amount of dirt had collected there, and
ambled towards the table. He ignored the crowd, as he was
wont to do, and even ignored the first of the hatchlings. Why
not prepare yourself for something before it happened? He
might as well grab some meat now and wait it out. The table
was piled with raw steaks and ground beef that seemed to have
been minced especially for the young dragons.
He folded his arms, the steak hanging from his gloved hand,
and stared at the eggs. Maybe he shouldn’t watch them; what
was that old saying? A watched pot never boils? Was that the
same for eggs? Well, they’d hatched well enough after having a
gigantic audience, so maybe it didn’t matter. He glanced quietly
up at the large dragon, Mikal, the guy had called him, and
frowned. “Hey,” he sad lamely. Everyone had come here for this
guy’s eggs, but none had paid him much attention. “How’s it
goin’?” He didn’t expect an answer; it was just a courtesy. Solus
settled for standing as far away from the group as he could,
while still maintaining a respectable distance form the clutch of
eggs. He mildly wondered what might come out of them next;
preferably nothing pink.
Off to the side, Solus noticed, an golden flecked egg sat alone.
He stared at it for a moment, gaze drawn to the little thing.
What was it that set this one apart? Solus shook his head. He
was imagining things; eggs didn’t have personalities, right? But
still...the Heroic Agenda Egg seemed…different. Solus took a
small step closer, seeming to ignore the other humanoids and
eggs, though he didn‘t dare get too close. This was bound to
be…interesting.

Behind her she heard footsteps and then a very familiar voice,
turning she smile brightly at Thomas, “Thomas!” She
exclaimed scrambling up onto her feet quickly to jump at the
soldier happily in a giddy hug. “I’m so glad you’re here! This
is going to be a terrific time, I’m sure.” She bobbed her
head.
Before she could say anything else though Kisten dropped off
the head of the large dragon and gave them rules to follow and
noted that he had meats for the soon-to-be hatchlings. Another
smile formed on her lips as an egg shook and then broke
revealing lovely Forest male who seemed to be a bit on the
clumsy side though the fat that he was tripping a bit made her
giggle lightly, “Oh look everyone, look at how cute he is.”
She squealed lightly clapping her hands.
The next egg she had had her eyes on and it seemed to have
been bothered y its sibling running into it, it cracked open and
Evan gasped sharply. The male that gracefully wound his way
out of the shell was the most wonderful thing she’d ever seen
and her eyes lit up with bright wonder. “I’m going to get some
meats.” She muttered and scrambled off, missing the hatching
of the creeling Plain.
Y the time she’d returned the female was already deep into the
crowd and it seemed she had caught Thomas’ eye. Passing a
chunk of meet to Orchid she smiled happily. “Now you can
feed them too.” She smiled gently before crouching down and
making her way ever so slowly toward the water. Kallisto spoke
to her and the tiger woman’s voice rang in her ears, “I will!”
She called back gently, the piece of meat was in her
outstretched hand as she crept toward the drowsy male. “Why,
you’re brilliantly hansom.” She complimented softly, “Would
you like something to eat? I’m sure you’re just as hungry
as your sister over there.” She nodded her head a small bit
her offering still out in the open.

The crowds were flowing down the path the more that Émer
Feme observed, standing within the safety of the only trees for
miles. Sharp eyes took in the shape of a hulking lizard—a
dragon. This interested her; having been here just long enough
to know the significance of certain creature bondings, and yet
not having taken place in one yet, she debated with herself.
Little, sharp teeth, likely to be blood abound and quite a bit of
attitude. The possibility of disappointment… and yet a possible
closeness with another being that she desired oh so much.
Well… she was right on time, then, as she scented the meat.
Before anyone else could get over there, she took up pieces of
the raw flesh in her hands without the slightest bit of
squeamishness, and then sidled around to the edge of the group
to sit by some of the now-rocking eggs, thrumming with vitality
and life just waiting to burst forth. Looking down by her feet,
the green tone of a single egg caught her eye. The Pint-sized
Egg, rolling furiously, made her smile, wrinkling her nose at it’s
cutness, even as she laid the strips of meat in her lap,
regardless of her dress.
Then she looked at the eggs around her; there was many large
ones hiding this miniature little thing, which she immediately
felt a connection with. Whether she might bond with this
particular hatchling or not was an iffy, but she preferred to stay
away from the big crowd the already-hatched eggs were
causing. There were plenty more dragonets that would soon be
running around to impress, after all, or perhaps not impress. It
was all just up to them, after all.
Ari
Po l i s he d Vi ll a g e r
She wasn’t entirely sure what she was expected to do, but
figuring that the little (relatively anyway) dragons would be
hungry when they popped out of those pretty eggs, she scooted
around cautiously to where the meat was . She picked up a
couple of handfuls and shoved them in her biggest pockets. Her
coveralls needed a wash anyway, and this wasn’t even her
second-best pair. Then she grabbed as much as she could
reasonably carry and scooted back around to the front where
the little dragons were.
She remembered how the little wyvern she’d named Cuddles had
bonded with her after she’d shared her dinner. Maybe it worked
sort of the same way with dragons. That would explain why all
these people were here. So the were-girl did her best to look
interesting. Not edible mind, she wanted to show that she had
food, not give the impression that she was food.
Her eyes scanned all the eggs, but her attention kept coming
back to that Pint-Sized one. Why, she wondered, did she find
that one so interesting? Shrugging it off, she turned her
attention from the eggs to the baby dragons. They were very
interesting, to be sure, but she didn’t want to end up trampled
or eaten by one. Eggs couldn’t eat her, baby dragons though…
Bayley
Opaque Villager
Bayley was scared that she was late. Really, she knew she was
late, and it would probably be looked upon as some kind of
discount or something against her with the dragons. She hoped
that none hatched yet, as it could decrease her chances. She re-
shouldered her backpack, which was threatening to swing wildly
off her back and throw her off-balance.
She took a ripping bite out of her Hot Packet that sort of
flopped around in her hand. The breakfast burrito-thing wasn't
that great, but it was filling and it left a good taste in her
mouth-- something peppery with a hint of sweetness to it.
As more eggs came into view as the crowd thinned towards the
right side, she noticed a few dragons had already hatched-- a
Forest, Plains and Water Dragon. Others were already
approaching them, so she judged them as a lost cause to
approach for now. And one of them, the Plains one, looked
really hungry. She didn't have much food, other than the half of
the Hot Packet she held. She decided to bend the wrapper over
it so she could save it for another hungry dragon.
Nero
Opaque Overseer
As Kisten leapt off of his perch upon the Noble’s head, Nero
shifted himself to the rear and left of the crowd - just near
enough to the bonding so that he could see what was going on,
but out of the way of the actual hatchlings and candidates. With
a short nod, he approved and endorsed the Kitsune’s
instructions - not that anyone was paying him any mind, and
that was probably all for the best. He was supposed to be
watching out for the safety of the bonders, but truthfully Nero
could not bring himself to care about their wellbeing if they
themselves lacked the sense to follow Kisten’s directions.
Liandra would not be happy with him if someone managed to get
themselves eaten or mauled, but the Fallen had no love lost for
mortals. He would step in if it looked like a bonder was about to
be accidentally harmed, but if they put themselves in harm’s
way by acting irresponsibly, it would only be to their eventual
benefit if he stood by and let it happen. Education from
experience, and all that. Plus, fewer mortals. Always a good
thing. They do stink up the area so.
With a sigh, the Fallen flexed his wing, nodding to the few
individuals close enough to appreciate the gesture. He easily
spotted Evangeline in the crowd, he little-child’s voice easily
audible above the background murmur of talk. He spotted the
plant-man Renaud in among a knot of unfamiliar humanoids,
and Kallisto and Opalette hidden in their own respective groups.
Few others were familiar enough to him to receive any spark of
recognition, though few were out and out strangers. Perhaps he
had been going to town too often recently - he missed the times
when he could see a group of people not recognize a single one
of them. It was better that way. Safer that way. If you don‘t
know their names, it won‘t hurt so much when they die.
A gasp from the front stole the Fallen’s attention from his own
thoughts, and his silvery-blue eyes quickly found the source of
the commotion. Apparently one of the eggs had hatched - the
first one, revealing a Forest son. Nero grinned wryly as his inner
monologue vied for the chance to see the new hatchling, but
Nero maintained his distant air as the crowd pushed forward.
Two more newborns were revealed in quick succession, a male
Water and a female Plains. The latter hatchling quickly
announced her presence to the world in a loud creel of harsh
sound, which Nero ignored utterly in lieu of watching the
humanoids press forward. Most of them vied for the meat and
water that Kisten had so graciously offered, but a few either
milled around, unsure, or walked forward without an offering.

Her eyes fell on the Opera Star Egg and she held her breath in
awe at the shell. The melodious hum made her ears twitch and
she smiled, looking at Kythen. "This is so cool!" she finally said.
The wolf-girl showed no fear of the giant creature guarding the
eggs. Dragons were not new to her. After all, she was used to
playing and wrestling with one. So dragons did not phase her.
Then cracks filled the air and she looked around, watching each
dragon hatch in turn, a smile tugging at her lips. Hadn't he said
there would be meat? Moving around, she found where it was
kept and went back to Kythen's side, pushing some into his
arms. She then took a few large chunks of what she had
grabbed for herself and lay it down on the ground close to her,
making sure it was in view of the hatching dragons. Any hungry
dragon would be able to come get it if they wanted to.

"I don't think these are going to be like your brother Kira.
There's something very dangerous about them." He replied
to Kira's comment that the dragons were 'cool'. Yes, it was a
rare opportunity to get this close to such a well guarded clutch
but was it wise to stay? Wolf didn't think so but Kythen was
determined to stay and keep an eye on his pack-mate. Sure she
could take care of herself but if she wasn't getting a bad vibe
from this dragon she could get herself into trouble and then
he'd need to rescue her. This was something he and Wolf could
agree on, they would stay for her sake.
Mercy
Opaque Villager
Mercy hung back, witing to see how the others would make their
move. There seemed to be plenty of food out for the dragons
already, even the Spunky Plains Dragon. If she had to choose
between the three, Mercy figured she'd try for the young
female, but there were many more eggs that had yet to hatch.
Some were rocking and rattling around now, with the hatchlings
tossing and turning in their shells.
Cautiously, Mercy edged around the main gathering of people to
the meat that could feed the new hatchlings.
Ew. Ew, ew, eeeew.
Mercy held the stuff as far away from her as she could. Better
to get it ahead of time, though, even if she wasn't going to get
a chance to give it to the now-less-hungry plains dragon.
Sighing, and still holding the dragon food at arms' length, Mercy
took a chance and stepped closer to the eggs. Doing a quick
head count, she had realized that there weren't quite enough
eggs to go around, so she decided she'd better get started.
Another thing she noticed was that a lot of the people seemed
to know each other. Hah. Mercy was glad she didn't, it would
mean she wouldn't have to cooperate with anyone to get the
egg she wanted.
Peering around at the eggs, she saw some that were annoying
bright, some that seemed to be simply cute, and others that
were more mysterious or dangerous looking. Narrowing her
eyes, Mercy focused on the darker eggs. She needed some
creature who could follow her without hesitation, not something
that would run away at the first sign of danger.
Putting the meat on the ground beside her, Mercy knelt on the
grass and waited for others to hatch.
Alice Gray
Polished Villager
Well this place was far from home. I mean at first it had seemed
pretty similar but this place (Isnit? Isnit Weird? Alice had heard
the term Planet used for this place, too.) made it pretty clear
early on that this place wasn’t quite right, at least compared to
her home. For example, while walking aimlessly through the
forest she’d originally found herself in she’d found a trail of
poptarts. They were alright, a bit dirty and burnt, but alright.
Post-poptarts Alice was doing alright so far as food and shelter
went. There were a lot of things from this place that were
similar to home (like poptarts) but usually they were pretty
weird, even when familiar (like poptarts).
She’d almost skirted around these grass lands when she reached
grass that towered over her by a good foot, “Oh my Yepha...”
she breathed, hot tears suddenly welling up before spilling over
and making a clear track of clean against the smudges from her
many trips and accidents while crossing through the forest. That
day she spent at the edge of the grass and cried since the first
time she’d gotten here.
Where was she? Why was she here? Could she get home? How
far was home? How was her mom and dad and Mooflea? Was she
still...? Was ALICE still...?
The night ended with these questions screaming at her, the
answers were nothing, not even a whisper.
Early on that morning, before the sun was really beating down
on her she ran into a thick of grass that seemed almost knotted.
At this point she was too stubborn, to hateful towards this
damnable grass to go around; it was high time she fought back
against this stupid, stupid grass.
She tore, ripped, bent, crushed and flailed her way through the
grass. Alice was so intent on passing through this hurdle, she
didn’t notice the charred earth until she’d fought her way onto
it, face planting at the sudden change from the resistance
caused by the grass and then flat, empty ground.
Her hands were scuffed up (although that had already happened
a hundred million times since she’d arrived) but she had
managed to catch herself. For a long time she just stared at the
black, sooty ground; disbelieving. Then she looked up, then side
to side to see a clear fire burned path through the grass.
Whatever had killed this stuff was good in her books (but that
was just the bitterness that had been growing in her stomach
speaking... right?). Alice stood up, patting herself to try and
shake as much of the soot and ash off of herself; her outfit was
stained grey, at least until she got the chance to wash herself
and her clothes (this thought threatened more tears, which she
tried to wipe away, smearing the tears and the dirt and soot on
her face). She later found out that the ash covered a lot (but
not all) of the nasty stink she had created on herself.
Since she’d left the forest she hadn’t met much water; enough
for drinking but not really enough to waste on being clean.
Alice wasn’t really aware, but she was lucky she’d made it this
far on her own. That didn’t matter so much right now. What did
matter was this path. To her right was a charred path parting
the grass, to her left the same. Which way to go though?
Unfortunately for her current needs Alice picked right; a path
straight towards a dragon.
Because she didn’t start at the beginning of this path Alice only
had a few days of charred path to travel. As she travelled she
noted many people going the same way as her and felt confident
that she was going towards some form of civilization. She
wondered what people here lived like. From what she could tell
there was no real stream of fashion, everything from
everywhere. Nobody seemed to match at all.
When people came upon her they did one of two things: ignored
her (to the point of that it was obvious that’s what they were
doing, did she look that bad?) or they noticed her young age
and offered what they could. She really liked those people and
forgot entirely to ask about this place while in their company.
On the second day she noticed that in the middle of this sea of
grass was a large, black hill (or maybe a small black
mountain?). Alice stared, then laughed, “This place really is
cracked!” Once more Alice tried hard not to cry as she moved on
that day towards the hill.
She didn’t realize it was a dragon until she had arrived at the
gathering. It was so still but as she finally came to the
gathering it had moved one, great wing. She froze, easily at the
back of the group as she watched, terrified. She was dead!
She’d died and arrived here in this strange world, travelled so
far to find a town and on her way to this fabled civilization she
met some big, stupid scaly JERK who was going to EAT HER! A
scream of her own frustration had built up in her chest when a
man started to speak. Now this wasn’t too weird but then it
was. Why had all these people come towards a dragon to be
eaten? The scream died and the muscles she’d subconsciously
tightened relaxed. Whatever the dragon was here for, he wasn’t
here to eat her (well not yet, anyway).
The girl stood and watched and listened to the man. Don’t bug
the big dragon, don’t touch the eggs and a bigger scary dragon
that had had babies with this big dragon (ew, gross!) would be
here later. ANOTHER big dragon? Alice shivered. Back home
there were these big dragon creatures called paragon and
wowzers, they were HUGE! But tame. This... Malik, he wasn’t
tame. She looked up at him, felt his mood (it wasn’t hard) and
shivered. He would eat her without a second thought, probably.
Maybe he’d complain about it too (“Too bitter! And so chewy!
Not even worth eating!”).

Donovan was so far out of his element that he couldn’t even see
it from here. It would require a friggin’ telescope. Back where
he was from, there were no dragons, no shinies, no plant-men,
no werewolves, no bunny… deer… thingies, no lizard-people. So
Donovan did what he would do in any situation that was
absolutely unfamiliar to him: he hung back and observed. The
more information he could gather by watching the crowd of
people, the more he could blend in. And in his experience, the
more he could blend in, the better. People tended to pay less
attention to the regular Joes, a fact that Donovan was always
eager to take advantage of.
As the cracks and snaps of the first egg rang through the
hushed air, Donovan paced slowly behind the big crowd, paying
little attention to the small and admittedly adorable hatchlings.
He was equally interested in the throng of people, and how they
reacted to the young dragons. They were eager to fawn over the
hatchlings, to feed them and lavish praise. Donovan was not
especially interested in bonding with a dragon who could be so
simply won over with food and praise. He wanted a partner, not
a pet, and in his experiences in the real world, you don’t get to
roll out of your egg and get handed a meal, a pat on the back,
and a personal butler. Unless he was completely wrong, in which
case he was sorely owed an explanation and an apology. There
were still a bunch of eggs left unhatched at this point, so for
now he would watch and wait.

Ah! There! One of the eggs she had been watching hatched. It
was quite the awkward little thing with its long spindly body.
The little thing kept on slipping too! Ahora's eyes softened
towards the baby dragon, but she refused to let herself coo
outloud. Not with all these people here! But the reptilian
humanoid waited for the dragon to come out from the unhatched
ones, heeding Kisten's warning.
Tobias Creed

Amidst chaos, Tobias took the seat that Zeph had offered. A
crowd was forming, congealing into a mass of hopeful
candidates of all species and creeds. It wasn’t the type of
anarchy that the soldier embraced: balls-out running and
rolling, tucking your knees to your chest as you hit the dirt,
watching that your gun didn’t get wet, with orders muffled by
artillery…This was a civilized, albeit competitive, gathering.
Some people (is that really the right word? his conscience asked
as his eyes settled on Renaud) greeted each other, having
already made friends. Feeling his comfort zone extend only to
Zeph, Tobias listened to the soul collector’s explanation.
The man who had been atop the dragon’s head had descended
and delivered instructions to the group. Though he took careful
note of the words, Tobias scanned the masses and not the
speaker. They were still growing, and by now, there were more
potentials than eggs. The segment of his mind that begged for
explanations was gagged and stuffed in a corner as the elephant
in the room emerged: not everyone would receive a dragon.
Rations in hand, he had turned to face the clutch and head back
when the real commotion began. In succession, three eggs
released their contents into the world. “I’ll be damned,” the
older man breathed, sloshing some of the water from his bowl
onto his shoes. The hatchlings were immediately gregarious
after some initial trouble getting their footing. It was the female
Plains dragon that drew a laugh from Tobias; he enjoyed seeing
some moxy in young things.

The smell of iron rushed the boy quicker than he’d like, and he
made a face as he approached the meat. This wasn’t going to be
cooked first? He really had to touch it. He was never one to
mind getting dirty but he’d never held onto meat with his bare
hands before. He hung around the table, peeking over to the
side at the clutch of eggs. Alright, he’d just wait for one of them
to hatch, either one of the eggs that he liked or one of the
dragonets that he thought looked cool. Then he’d use his skates
and slide on over. All he had to do was figure out how to get
some water.

Although these eggs were much more colorful than those of her
former charges and held far different creatures within them, the
roughly-oval shapes brought out the maternal instinct in her,
something she was beginning to wonder if she had lost.
After taking a piece of meat from the pile, Jessari walked slowly
among the eggs. Some drew her eye more strongly than most,
such as the Opera Star Egg and the innocent-looking Second
Chance, but she kept walking, pacing amongst them with pale
blue wings flexing in and out. If she was meant to bond with
one of these creatures, she wanted to be positive she had made
the right decision.

She slowly inched her way across the sands, giving as wide a
berth as possible to the eggs and the really huge dragon thing
and even the man whom was flirting with her? Oh whatever! She
wasn't into him anyway >.> She snatched one of the bowls of
meat, rested Evangeline's meat on top, and slinked back over to

Swinging his head around with an easy coil of his long neck,
Noah grinned as he looked at the tall, dark figure he'd only met
the other day. "Theo!" His voice rang out through the clearing
as he moved towards his companion, curving the length of his
body around the more delicate bone structure affectionately.
"Well, fancy seein' you here, at a dragon bonding of all
things! Haha, this will be fun, buddy! Tha' I can promise!"
Unwrapping himself from the man, he took a few small steps
back, concentrating on the shivers that were now rolling down
his spine. And in a moment's time he'd changed, the large
canine body morphing into that of a young teenage boy, the
same goofy smile and vibrating blue eyes. With that, he shifted
back to his original position facing the dragon and his clutch,
this time residing at Theo's side, the sleeves of their shirts
nearly grazing.
A newcomer's voice, starting up friendly conversation of course,
cause Noah's head to turn, suddenly curious to see who was
addressing him. Smiling warmly, Noah laughed softly at the
stranger's comment, his body wiggling with the movement of his
chuckle. "Aww, no one's here to hurt the lil' eggs, sir! Its'a
bonding, of course! When the lil' fellers hatch, they'll be
looking fer someone to take care of 'em an' all tha'!"
Finishing with a firm nod, Noah turned his body to face the
raspy sounding man, noting to himself the discomfort he
seemed to be in. 'Makin' friends, makin' friends! Jus gotta keep
makin' friends!' But their conversation was shortly lived, as the
voice of the strange man atop the mighty dragon's head spoke
out. Turning to look attentively towards him, Noah listened
carefully as a silence swept over the crowd. And it seemed
centuries passed before finally, after the announcements had
been, well, announced, that a stirring shuttered through the
eggs. And then, they began to hatch.

After some while he did in fact get to his feet, impressive wings
folding against his sides as he slid away from the nest and
closer to the humanoids. When he stopped he reclined proudly
and glanced at the others expectantly, going so far as to beckon
them forward with a claw. Alright, you had him up. Now present
your offerings.
The Very Wyrd Egg cracked open with a sickening pop and
egg-liquid oozed out the top. As it slowed the rest of the shell
gave way, splitting in half. After a moment of thought, the
creature within began to pull itself out and slid down the shell
to the ground. It wasn't long before she had managed to
navigate around the others, moving with an unerring sense of
direction. Three had hatched before her, but she did not mind as
she shook off bits of shell and dirt, scratching her chin with a
chibi claw.
The Savvy Water Dragon was large even as a hatchling and
coiled herself tightly so she could raise an elegant neck into the
air and regard the humanoids with an unreadable stare. You
should consider yourself lucky to even witness this, let
alone waiting around for someone you think you like. We
choose you, not the other way around. She scoffed; not all
of them were waiting around for their favorite eggs to hatch but
some were, and already her shrewd mind had deduced this.
Seriously, they were just shells! The beast within was what truly
mattered and while she couldn't change their stares she could
at least inform them of their folly.
They meandered here and there, but at long last they came
upon another pair- Kythen and Kira. The Chill Plains Dragon
went for Kira's meat, as the Prized Water Dragon snatched up
what Kythen kept (leaving his body parts intact!). Satisfied,
they scampered off and away, but were quickly stalled as they
sensed Alice shiver.
Last but by no means least, the largest egg of the clutch had
reached its breaking point. The Pachyderm Puzzle Egg. Like
pieces of a puzzle, the shell split apart into its respective
elephants, revealing someone who would one day make an
excellent fifth elephant. At this very moment, the wide-eyed
babelet sat amongst his shell refuse and yawned. He was quite
small at this point, if by small you meant the largest of all his
siblings thus far. Don't worry though! Those enormous, goofy
paws would one day be bigger than your head, and he'll be able
to fit you in his mouth with ease. For now though the
Herculean Mountain Dragon was all the adorableness of a
newly hatched, innocent creature.
What really got his attention was the foolish humanoid who had
clearly been present when Kisten gave his opening statement.
The Noble glanced down towards the Kitsune, who was still
helping others with meat, and turned back towards the one
getting closer.
As soon as she got around his tail and walked amongst the
eggs, the father reacted with a speed that shouldn't have been
possible for such a massive beast. He made no sound, but there
was rage in his movements as sharp claws lashed out and flung
the girl like a rag doll more than half his length. Deep slashes
ran from her shoulder down her waist, and at least one of her
wings (not including other body parts of the hollow-boned
woman) would find themselves broken.
For the most part the Dragonets looked on, but none of them
were particularly offended by their father's actions. After all,
there was proper warning and rules were to be upheld. If you
break them, you got punished. If anything they were amazed he
hadn't up and devoured her. Their attentions gradually shifted
from the fallen girl to the other humanoids, and back to the
ones they had chosen to interact with.

But of course before she could even take a few steps, she
noticed the girl the.. antlered rabbit girl had fallen and that
there was a piece of meat stuck to one of those sharp antlers.
She sighed and made a face, but nonetheless, plucked the slab
from the jackalope's antlers. They had only met once before,
but the Witch wasn't the kind to forget faces.
From her Mary Poppins cloak, she took out a pretty blue hankie
and handed both the meat and hankie to Nyx. "I recognize you..
from that training thing. You had the Vargul.. Try to be careful,
eh?"
Nyx
Opaque Deleted Member
Oh joy! More babies! Nyx who was now trying to pick up the
slabs of meat she had dropped seated herself up with a
frustrated frown. That broken egg shell, where did it come
from? Surely she would have seen it before or one of those little
dragons played a joke on her. Nope, no, she was just clumsy,
and the exuberant female merely frowned as she tried to tug
the slab of meat that conveniently had itself stuck upon her
antler. "Okay... That's not fair!" Nyx complained, tugging at this
disgusting smell of meat, determined not to make herself look
like a meal in front of them. She already had one creature
wanting to dine on her poor flesh. She refused to have more
look at her at such a way. She would give up once or twice to
watch the baby dragons contently, growing rather happy that
they didn't pay attention to her just because she smelled like
food, but rather disappointed when none seem to exactly notice
her. It was okay,s he figured, she acted like a fool in front of
them a.k.a herself, so what should she so disappointed about.
Nyx sang, failing to notice Opalette who had neared her. She
was much too interested in the new hatchlings that came from
their eggs. Cute! So cute! She wanted to pet one so much, but
she knew if she were to do so, surely she would have been
punished in some sort of excruciatingly painful way. So she still
continued to admire them from afar, like a love sick teen girl
who saw some random dude from a window and instantly called
him hers. Well, it wasn't something like that, nor close, but she
was still so happy to watch the eggs.
She finally noticed Opalette when she pulled the slab of meat
from her antler. Thrilled, the Jackalope jumped to her feet,
spluttering a serious of excited 'Thank yous' towards the
woman. "OH! I remember you! You had.. That cute... Bird...
Thing..." Oh dear, what were those called again! She couldn't
remember at all. But before she could actually figure this out,
the woman had left to catch the attention of a dragon, leaving
her alone yet again, with a single slab a stabbed meat in her
hands. Would a... Baby dragon want this? Her antlers weren't
dirty.. And it was large.. And heavy.. And it was starting to
make her hands smell like it.
The first two hatchlings that caught her attention were the
Interrupted Melon and New Fashioned hatchlings. They came out
in such dazzling light, she couldn't resist herself from clapping,
as if it were a show she had saw. She never seen anything hatch
like that! She gave that a ten! No! an eleven in fact! So.. How
does she get any of this itty bitty giant lizard babies attention?
She saw some humaniods throw meat, while others dangled the
meat and that caused some hatchlings to take interest. She, in
fact, just smelled like the food and the stabbed price of meat
that she held might not be appealing anymore. "Aww... I don't
think I'm going to be able to play with any babies." She
pouted, staring at the slab of meat before watching the others.
How lucky, the ones that got a baby dragon to pay attention to
them...
How could she..? It wasn't like she could just pounce on one.
Alice Gray

Having eaten less then she should and having drank even less
water then she should have over the past days spent traveling
through the plains, Alice had grown use to the constant sick
feeling in her belly. Watching the highly intelligent father dragon
watch his brood (of which was still, for the most part, out of her
view); watching this intelligent hunter that was 8 times her size
sitting there rather quietly but dangerously... That deep aching
sick feeling grew to a point where she was almost ready to
throw up.
She missed home. She missed her Mommy’s kisses and her
Daddy’s laugh and her safe house and her safe imaginary
adventures. Her adventures had always been fun, fighting
dragons, breaking up a mob or saving a phoenix from a dragon
lord was all fine and dandy, so long as the dragon went back to
being her stuffed animal, the mob back to her dolls of the
phoenix returned to being a robin with an injured wing.
Here, in this world, the adventure was real and she couldn’t just
stop when it was time for dinner. It never ended and she didn’t
even have anyone to take care of her. She was almost sure she
would get killed here and the idea was disheartening. Feeling a
little hopeless and scared at the same time (a complex sort of
combination) she watched the crowd part and swell as people
moved about to feed... dragon babies? Yes, that cracking sound,
now that she could see a little, had been the sound of eggs
breaking to reveal small lizard like creatures. Of course they
were dragons and they were his, the black hills, babies. Her
stomach knotted a little as she tried to understand why any of
them were still alive. Wouldn’t the father dragon just kill
everyone now that they were messing with his kids?
With the crowd moving and swelling as it was Alice was having a
“fun” (“fun” here meaning “a very infuriating”) time trying to
get to Rene. Somehow, as weird as it may sound, the tree guy
was managing to get lost in the crowd for pockets of time. Alice
sighed, scooting further to the back of the group of people. She
felt no desire to approach fire breathing, child devouring
lizards, alright? Maybe she would just hang back here... You
know, wait for everyone to do... whatever they were doing
and... Yah, she could find Rene then. He seemed to be trying to
catch the attention of the creatures that would use him for a
side salad. Maybe he was safe, being a tree and all. What
carnivore wanted to eat a tree, right?
For a moment she felt an intense urge to turn her head away
from them and the dark black shape of death and look out at
the sea of grass.
Maybe if I ignore them, they’ll go away. Alice knew this was a
pathetic hope and instead turned her head towards the two
approaching forms. They were small, and fairly thin; one a
snake with legs and the other like a mini version of its dad
(well, maybe. They both seemed semi-twiggy compared to their
dad so it was hard to tell these things). Both looked pleased,
sadistic and hungry. Both were looking at her.
“Ah...!” She gasped, uncrossing her arms in a hurry and taking
a step back. Another step was made by sliding her feet along
the charred ground; her eyes wide. What was she suppose to
do? She was going to get eaten by these LITTLE dragons! Not
even a dignified kill by the dad, but to be taken apart by
hatchlings! For a moment the fear grabbed and tried to
desperately fling her away; to run and run and run from this
place and never look back. Her small muscles quivered in
anticipation for her get away.
Then her old adventure mentality upset her perfect flight logic
and opted for fight.
Who are you? You aren’t you, Lice. You gotta’ snap out of it!
Stop being scared! Lookit them, they don’t even COMPARE to
lord Kinth and you stood up to him! The voice was firm, if a
little angry. It was herself. Another version of her, the one that
had replaced her old self upon her arrival here spoke to her in a
soft, shaking voice.
It’s only logical! You’re just a little girl! And you won’t grow up
to be a grown up if you get EATEN!
The angry voice, the old Alice, scoffed, You know what you have
to do. You’re here for a reason and it’s not to turn around and
run away.
Alice remembered that the group had been told not to go near
the eggs, which was fine as she wasn’t planning on going
anywhere near any of these lizards (though they seemed drawn
to her and, for the life of her, she didn’t know why. I mean
there was food everywhere, why did they want to fight her,
huh?). It seemed somebody had been foolish enough to decide
that nothing bad would happen when you disobeyed a dragon.
The black hill was about to correct this thought.
A massive black blur moved and what felt like a wave of heat
and anger seemed to wash over her physically, but maybe that
was just her imagination. Either way the daddy dragon was way
mad and... Had just killed somebody?
Fear, then terror crashed against her mind, sending her back
physically one step, then two so he was right against the still
living, standing grass surrounding this open space. Her hands
had let go of her hips and had gone back to her chest, hands
pressed flat against her chest, just below her collar bone. A
dark ‘o’ of shock made up her mouth and only her heart (which
was currently lodged in her throat) kept her from screaming.
She really could die here.
This potential reality hit her again with another, smaller mental
wave. For a moment or two she couldn’t really hear anything,
the whole bonding ceremony was muffled to her, like she had
cottons crammed in her ears (and her skull, her mind buzzing
senselessly in this new found terror).
Without turning her head her attention returned to the two
hatchlings whose attention was also returning to her. Where she
was terrified the two hatchlings seemed to feel little difference
in this recent, violent event. Grrrreeat...
Alice shut her mouth and swallowed. She wondered if they could
hear the nervous click of her throat as she did.
“I... I won’t let you e-eat me. N-not wi-without a fi-fight. I’m
stronger then that!” She didn’t shout, but Alice’s voice rose
enough to be of some notice.
She was still scared, but she wasn’t going to let it rule her, at
least not completely.
Somewhere in the back of her mind where all her pessimistic
thoughts derived Alice wondered if Xai’re would be able to guide
her soul to the Vaults from another planet...

The plant man watched with open amazement and more of the
eggs started to hatch, smiling without shame as the little ones
came to life. He turned as he heard the cracks and crunches,
the slick sounds coming from each of the eggs. His eyes got
wide as the largest erupted from his egg and started to lumber
about before someone paid it some attention. He tossed an
extra piece of meat over towards Opalette, the big hulk looking
like he would eat more than the steak that she was waving in
front of him. Rene watched as the dragonets started to drift
towards people, snatching meat from their hands. That was
when he noticed Alice wandering, seeming to be trying to follow
someone... Him perhaps?
His attention went to the big father as he laid down the law
upon someone that had skirted too close to the eggs. An unwise
move, and if Rene had not seen Alice first he might have gone
over to help the woman. The girl looked tired, worn out, dry and
hungry, and as much as he wanted to continue playing with the
babies, he knew that he needed to help her. Someone walked by
with a few bowls of water and he took one, moving closer to
Alice before he noticed that there were two Dragonets closing in
on her and she was starting to panic a little.
"Calm down, they can probably smell the fear." Rene said
gently, getting her attention as he set the little bowl of water in
her hand with a kind smile. He turned his attention to the
siblings that had come to stalk the girl, handing the girl in
question a piece of meat before throwing one himself. Maybe
they would eat and run, or stick around. "Give them something
else to eat and just remember that they are babies... very
hungry... very big babies." Renaud said with a sweet smile,
keeping close enough so that if the girl wanted to move behind
him, she could.

This was just great. More and more dragons were hatching, yet
none of them were around her. Emer could be patient, but she
was still feeling that yearning to have someone special with her.
After a few moments, she stood up from her crouch by the little

Jumping, eyes widening as she immediately smelled the blood,
Emer's nose wrinkled and she lifted her face to the breeze.
Damn. That smelled delicious, but she had other things to worry
about. With her heap of meat tucked in various places around
her body where it wouldn't all fit in her hands, she started to

egg, however, Emer spotted the large mountain dragonet; there
was already someone there. Oh, well. Oh, look! It was Opalette!
Smiling and kneeling down beside her, holding out a hand with a

Then she turned her head with a smile that flashed those sharp
canines of hers, and murmured, "Hey, there. We meet again, it
seems." Then her attention moved back to the dragonet; hoping
not to overwhelm him, she sat back with a pile of meat in her
lap for him to just take as he liked, a friendly expression
continuing to be on her face. "So, little one, how do you like

Ahora grinned to herself as she saw the little forest ignoring the

watching the hatchlings. After all plenty of them were hatching
and as more got out it seemed the there would be one for
everyone. THat is, if they all chose a bonded. Which could very
likely not happen just as it could. After all, if what she had read
on these little dragon bondings, they were particular creatures
and didn't have a totally solid way of picking somebody. So
perhaps one of them just didn't fit their criteria. Ore nibbled her
lip at this realization. What if she wasn't what they wanted? She
reeeally wanted a baby dragon, not just to show off (which was
pretty big, I mean come on, its a dragon!) but they looked all
so... Awesome. PLus they were intelligent and didn't go on
about stupid stories like the boy who swalled his tongue or
something. Now she loved what bondeds she had now, but
someone to talk to all the time would be nice. Plus they were
just adorable! I mean look at them all!
Ore sighed as she watched new eggs hatch. There went another

her had hatched yet. That is, until she saw that Savvy little
Water Dragon waltz out. Yes. Oh my goodness. That was just
precious! Yet she seemed to be totally vain (something not
exactly new to Ahora) but that was fine. Sure it could get
annoying, but... Well actually. Now that she thought about it,
maybe going up to it wasn't a good idea. Ore had enough
annoying things in her life, one more might kill her. Shaking her

The winged woman who drew the scorn of the Noble also was
left to her own devices. Hey, if people couldn't pay attention to
keep their own skins safe that wasn't her problem. So, much
like the Versatile Forest Dragon, she sat and watched the
goings-on around her.
After a few long moments she turned her head to more directly
look at the hatchling in question, though she didn't go so far as
to hold eye contact. She snorted at the words of the Savvy
Water Dragon, especially after the actions that followed.
"Hypocrite." Not that the young dragon truly was...but the
words would be much better suited for the Forest she watched
out of the corner of her eye; not some frilly hatchling who had
big things to say then pranced over to the first person with
food. Her gaze flickered up to the Versatile Forest Dragon and
she grinned.
" You've got the right idea; scope things out then move. I,
personally, don't think any of this feels quite right."
Then again maybe it was the fact that she was all but in the
shadow of a giant Dragon noble who could swallow her whole if
he so chose. Personal opinions aside, she wasn't sure that
anyone should feel so at ease. She took her gaze away from the
Forest hatchling and looked over all the other youngsters
begging food. He had a strong will--first to hatch and still he
hadn't accepted even a nibble. She had to admire that about
him.

He quietly poured some of the water into the bowl, and lifted
the meat from his boot into his hand. He glanced up at the
Herculean dragon, and tilted his head. “Hey there, ad’ika,” he
said kindly. Yes, contrary to popular belief, Solus could actually
be kind. Ad’ika was a word from his native language; it meant
‘little one.’ “You hungry or thirsty? I’ve got all this over here
with me and…well, I certainly don’t want to eat it.” he smiled
lightly, tilting his head to hold out the piece of meat in front of
him, before resting his head once more on his upturned palm.

The day had been long. Zhi couldn't remember how long it had
been since he started walking - a heavy sling of tools thrown
over his back. It would be most unwise to make such a long
journey to such a far-off job prospect, only to double back
because you forgot your instruments. But the weight was killing
him. He would have stopped, had it not been for the numerous
Isnitians blazing past him excitedly. They held such purpose as
they veered in a slightly different direction than Zhi was
previously headed.
That was, until Zhi caught sight of something horrid. Even from
such a great distance, he could make out one of the forms being
thrown to the ground violently. There was blood, that much he
knew. Without a second thought, Zhi darted towards the hulking
dragon and the various humanoids. His heart pounded, his lungs
felt like they would burst, but he had to try and help the poor-
'Whoah.'

He, too, was caught slightly off guard by the mindspeak, but he
sought to recover quickly with another tip of the hat, this time
towards the dragon. It was unusually intelligent for being such a
young creature, and Tom had no doubt that she could tear him
apart if she pleased. Respect seemed like a good idea. "Private
Thomas Joyce. I ask myself that a lot, too," he said with a
resigned shrug, addressing this comment partly to Tobias as
well. Apparently the general felt just as out of sorts here as he
did. "One minute I'm in the middle of nowhere with the
rest of my unit, the next I'm here," he continued, gesturing
around in a vaguely accusatory manner. "Here and now,
though...I just saw a bunch of people heading this way
and followed them. Then, when I heard what it was all
about, I decided to stay. Seems everyone here is looking
for a friend." The young man leaned down to set the remainder
of his meat on the ground next to Tobias's bowl of water, then
shoved both of his hands deep into his pockets and considered
the young dragon frankly. "Seems like a fellow can use all
the friends he can get around here."
Yes, Planet was a dangerous place, all right. About two seconds
later, the father dragon casually flicked a strange blue girl with
wings across the field as if he were flicking a bug. Tom wasn't
desensitized like Tobias was; he flinched back with a gasp, blue
eyes going wide at the horrible scene. "Dear God!" The girl
was caught by a rather frightening looking man, and the
dragon's companion immediately rushed over, as did some
others. Tom bounced a little on the balls of his feet, glancing
between the dragon and the girl. He clearly wanted to go over
and help. But he didn't want to offend the dragonet, either.
Besides, he wasn't a doctor, and he knew that by going over he
might just be getting in the way, or even making things worse.
He would stay - but he would keep glancing in that direction,
clearly concerned.

Some people hung back, nervous expressions and the fact that
they hadn’t the faintest idea how to act around dragons. Other
went up flailing meats around and trying to get as many of the
powerful dragons babes as they could to pay attention to them.
And then there was Evan who just wanted to make as many
friends as possible. Who cared if she bonded? She just wanted
to have more friends by her side to play with and share with. In
her hands lay a bowl of the raw meats and she crouched on the
ground with her wings trailing out behind her, angled so that
they didn’t drag in the dirt, not that they would get dirty
anyhow.
Reaching into the bowl she poked at the raw meats, her nose
burning with the coppery smell of spilled blood. Glancing away
at the Recalcitrant Water Dragon she smiled brightly at him
as he drew himself up most regally and made his way forward.
Settling back with his neck arched he seemed to stare directly
at her for a split second, maybe it was merely her imagination,
and then motioned forward.
It was obvious the way she moved toward this deadly dragonet
that she wasn’t afraid or at all concerned that this was a huge
affair. Her step held a skip and as she approached she stood
straight and then curtsied at him with a little flourishing bow
afterward, “Why hello sir, my name’s Evangeline. Would
you like something to eat?” She questioned as she held out a
meat on the palm of her hand. So focused in this small bit of
movement she didn't even realize the commontion concerning
the flung girl as her back was to the affair.

Theo couldn’t help but wonder why a third party had chosen to
come up and speak to them when there were so many other

Noah responded with enthusiasm and reassurance. The man
seemed uncomfortable and the boy seemed all too comfortable.
Surely Noah’s helpful and friendly aura had reached even a
stranger.
“Here. They might want some water after they’re finished with
your meat.” The man smiled, sliding the water pan next to
Noah’s meat-covered hand before standing up and taking a
couple steps back. He would watch, if only just to be in the
presence of this event. That lingering fear that a young Dragon
might somehow choose him was still there, and no matter how
much he told himself that it wouldn’t happen if he did nothing to
provoke it, Theo would never be able to silence his belief in
Fate.

No! No no no. No. Donovan shoved his hands deep into his
pockets and kept moving. Now was definitely not the time for
that. If there was a time and a place for not pick pocketing, it
would probably be during a dragon hatching, in the middle of
nowhere, on a foreign planet, surrounded by strangers that
would probably have no qualms about murdering him in the face
the instant they realized they’d been robbed. In fact, it looked
to him like some of them were probably searching for excuses to
better their chances for bonding with one of the hatchlings.
Lifting money was probably more than a good enough excuse,
especially considering that he wasn’t sure there the police had
been invented yet on this planet. Maybe he was being
unreasonable, but a healthy little dose of paranoia never hurt
anyone, did it?

All sorts, all shapes, all sizes. Archer, lingering perhaps closer
to the eggs than he really strictly should've been, took in the
happenings. Hatchlings were moving out from their original
mobbed groups, pausing here and there to eye the humanoids.
Even with Papa's rumblings in the background, excitement and
curiosity were going a long ways to quell his fear. Not entirely,
no -- prickling chills of anxiety still danced along his spine, but
they just added spice to this amazing event. Dragons, real
dragons, hatching. Right in front of him. His tenderloin was
shifted slightly, propping the length of meat against his hip.
Soon enough there'd be one just waiting for him to care for.
There was no use just going after every one that hatched. There
were lots of people, and lots of eggs. If he kept his eyes open,
there'd bound to be one he could--
In his mind's eye, five bullets fell steaming onto flattened stems

Perhaps the reason that the Prized Water Dragon had managed
to leave all of Kythen's limbs intact was that the wolf shifter had
(in his opinion) done the smart thing and dropped the meat and
taken a few steps away from it when he saw the two hatchlings
coming toward him. And then...they were leaving and he...didn't
breath a sigh of relief. Instead he made a very small startled
sound when he felt Kira's hand squeeze his own and he glanced
down to verify that, yes, she had indeed grabbed his hand.
In the midst of trying to figure out why she was holding his
hand and deciding whether or not he wanted to extricate his
hand from hers, he missed the two dragonlings heading for a
young girl. When Kira released him and moved away, he
followed if only because he was still trying to figure out why
holding hands with Kira had felt so....odd. That and she was
pack. Wolf wouldn't be comfortable if she moved too far away
and they couldn't protect her. He frowned at Kira when she
offered the girl their protection and Wolf had a moment of
indecision.
Not pack.
Nope.
But young. A pup.

Okay, so, whatever confidence she'd had earlier left. Seeing the

Her feet was bringing her close to the Chill Plains Dragon,

He had heard that something was going on, but what, the little
winged fellow was not sure. Inculpatus flew past the rocky
mountain pass and was now weaving lazy circles in the sky
above the plains. Down below, a giant black beast blotted out
the ground. From his place in the sky, he took note of the crowd
of people and of the beautiful clutch of eggs. There seemed to
be a bit of a skirmish going on.
The winged fellow neared the gaggle, landing about fifty feet
off. His eyes filled with the sights and realization struck him-
the infant dragons, the people, the meat, the blood. Suddenly
the naive Inculpatus got cold feet about this all. The kindly
people in the tavern had made it seem like a fun, easygoing
event, really. They were excited and happy about it, after all.
The winged boy wasn't even so sure of what was going on. They
called it a bonding... but what was that? All things inside of
him, all the instinctual implants, all the mechanized impulses
wired in his brain, and all the natural responses told him to run.
To fly. To leave all of the wreckage behind and get out now.
Never in his life had he witnessed birth, nor did he have any
real concept of it. He, himself, was not truly birthed, nor did he
really know where he came from. Being a genetic experiment,
he was simply fabricated in a lab and released into the world as
an adult, fully grown and equipped for life. Though he was born
in this manner, he still had so much to learn. The Makers had
left him void of so much knowledge.
The mystified Inculpatus filled his white eyes with the incredible
sights. The hatchlings were brilliant models of nature, he
thought, and he marveled at them. Questions appeared in his
head, so many he could not sort them. He was instantly hooked
by curiosity's powerful grip.
The boy turned pale eyes on the others around him, spying the
meat offerings for the infants. He, himself, had come empty-
handed.
How was he to know? The elderly couple that had directed him
here didn't mention it! He watched curiously, taking deep
breaths as he stepped closer and closer to the scene, watching
people and creatures alike. He felt drawn to the event, as if it
held promise of something. As if he was supposed to be there.
Just as the young dragons felt drawn to the strangers before
them.

Sumo had been dropped onto Planet less than a week ago.
Since, she'd been wandering the plains where she had first
arrived, snagging a meal here and there where she could. It was
a wonder that in all the time she'd been out there, she hadn't
caught the scent of the Dragons and their clutch. Or maybe she
had, but the scent had just been too unfamiliar and so she'd
shrugged it off. The canine was getting used to coming across
unfamiliar scents, and her curiosity had waned in favor of
survival.
But now she could smell something that was familiar, if only
vaguely. In her recent pyratical days, she'd met hundreds of
different races of beings from many different planets. Some
were comrades while others were hapless victims of she and her
crew. But their smells were ingrained in her mind, and so now
she could pick out similar smells coming through the fields. Her
curiosity peaked, even if her stomach was rumbling. She hushed
it quietly with a pat to her belly before setting off in the
direction of the scent. Luckily the wind was in her favor.
As she drew closer, she could hear the sounds of a large group
of people. Soon their forms became visible, as well, through the
heat-wavering air. She joined the group silently, smiling to a
couple of humanoids who'd tossed a look her way. The sight of
the Dragon and his clutch was... astounding to say the least.
The mane wolf felt as though she would have been more
astounded had she not just spent the past week stumbling upon
the terrifying wild creatures of Planet, but she was amazed
none-the-less.
For now Sumo kept her distance from the new hatchlings. She
gave a quick gaze to the father, but didn't dare keep her eyes
on him for long. He was more than imposing enough to
intimidate her. The The Versatile Forest Dragon was easily
the first to catch her eye. Compared to the other hatchlings, she
was most drawn to the serpentine body shape.

Jessari's fate was in hands other than her own, and Kisten had
been careful to step back, ready to keep others at a distance.
The last thing she needed was a crowd around her.
She was lucky. A toss of her head and a disdainful look made
it clear that the babe had no intentions of getting to know
Jessari.
I can't give you boys my name- the first one to hear that
is my chosen. Whom she didn't seem particularly keen on
looking for at the moment. But perhaps later. Either way, it
was a pleasure! Little hips rolling, she wandered off.
The Recalcitrant Water Dragon was not too surprised that the
humanoids would rush to their aid of their more stupid (this was
why Natural Selection rarely worked in more advanced species;
they had this desire to try and save the ones that made
mistakes). Nor was he surprised to find the attention drifting off
his sleek form and onto others and more and more siblings
emerged from their colorful shells.
Ahora was next- and at a very quick pace. The dragon's long
neck enabled her to easily get in around any arms that may
have flailed at the sudden arrival of the Dragonet. Sharp fangs
clenched around the meet in the girl's lap- but she did acquire a
scratch of two from the young one's claws as she steadied one
claw on a thigh. You'll need more to keep attracting us to
you.
She was off yet again, to her (temporarily) final stop. That's
good to see. Don't go too fast now. You may not want to
be rude to your chosen, if they're around. She warned
Evangeline, accepting the meaty slice delicately. Beginning to
grow full, it was no trouble of hers that she could begin to turn
towards the more ... spiritual aspects of a bonding.
The pair glanced over to Renaud, but the meat was only glanced
at, as their eyes were focused on the girl. Kira's offer wasn't
meant for them and more meat was not exciting. This Alice girl
was alive and frightened. You may get us water. The first
declared with a nod to Aidan. But do not delay!
With a second yawn to flash off his needle-like baby teeth, the
Herculean Mountain Dragon began to stir. Slowly, of course,
as he stretched out his wings and each individual limb. As it
was, he was still within the group of eggs, but he clambered
over his father's tail in a short time (fast enough to save
Opalette from a fate similar to Jessari's). Oh, he wasn't too lost
or confused- just hungry. The male snapped up the piece of
meat and lumbered off in another direction, while Mikal let out a
warning rumble for the candidate to retreat further from the
nest.
The spicy burrito of Bayley was sniffed, but the strong spice was
a bit much on his poor, newborn snout, and the male recoiled,
nearly bumping into Solus. Startled but hungry, he quickly
snapped his jaws around the extended meat- and unfortunately
the hand that held it out. Not knowing his own strength- or that
this other thing wasn't food, the Dragonet gave a quick tug
when it didn't just come away from the humanoid. He did not let
go- but perhaps they could convince him to?

(( Okay so if I'm not suppose to post yet just tell me and stuff.
The "DO NOT POST!" sign was taken down so I assume... ))
One licked her cheek and she tried not to flinch away too much,
shutting her eyes tightly. The dragon was tasting her? Please,
please don’t find her tasty!
She was still holding the bowl of water, the small amount of
meat Renaud had given her had been dropped and forgotten in
the dirt. They had ignored all offerings of meat so why would
they take an offering from their chosen meal? Instead she
nervously lifted the bowl of water up, “If you want water,” she
said, steadily turning her head to look at one dragon, then the
other. She didn’t flinch away or blink, nor did she divert her
attention elsewhere. It was scary to look at these hunters but if
she continued to act like prey she would definitely BECOME
prey, “you’re welcome to this. It’s not much but... Wait, what?”
her brow furrowed, “Take what’s yours? What’s yours, the
water?”
What could they mean by that, “take what’s ours”? They didn’t
mean... her, did they? To take their meal? A mix of wanting
somebody to save her and wishing they wouldn’t (with the fear
that the dragons would tear her to pieces trying to keep her)
swept over her and she blinked away unshed tears. Dear Zu’hai,
if her life was suppose to end at LEAST let be quick and
painless. Painless first, so long as she didn’t feel it she’d be
okay with that, it was the pain she was most scared of, not so
much the dying.
She was too young to be thinking about how she wanted to die.
As for the rest of the goings on around her Alice was pretty
much completely unaware. Her life was pretty close to its end,
or so it seemed, so as selfish as it might seem, Alice didn’t a
rats bottom about anything else going on around her. Daddy
dragon could slaughter everyone but her and she might not
notice right away (okay well, she would but you get the idea).

Her eyes fell onto the pile that was diminishing quickly as more
eggs fell apart and life was blown under each newborn's wings.
"'Scuse me! Watch out-- comin' through!" she said loudly,
ducking in and out of the crowd of people and snatching a few
morsels of meat to feed to some of the dragons herself. As she
watched the newborns wriggle out of shells, and the
alreadyborns mull about a bit faster than they had been, she
smiled and stopped, just to watch. It was so cool that she could
actually watch something like this-- she had always been
fascinated by how things worked together, and the way the
dragons chose their bond... it really made her think.
The hand she held out to shake was covered in... meat juice.
Ick. She rubbed a hand over her shorts and put it back up, but
then thought about it and put it back down. "Maybe you should
keep both hands on the bowl." she said with a small smile,
patting Alice on the back lightly.

smiled, glad that he wouldn't have to be the only one that would
make sure people didn't get eaten. Renaud stayed close even
after the creatures moved in, ignoring the meat, demanding
water, and making all sorts of suggestions that they might still
think Alice tasty. As much as he didn't want to leave the girl
behind, he wanted even more to be able to find a Dragonet that
would take from him and perhaps bond with him. Alice didn't
seem to have any of that trouble right now, and with the group
with her, he felt that it was okay to leave now.
"Don't let her get eaten." He said to Archer, giving the cowboy a
pat on the shoulder before giving Alice a confident nod and a
smile. None of the other eggs had hatched since the duo had
come towards Alice, but he could see some of them starting to
get more and more ready to pop out. It was so exciting. As
everyone seemed to be shoving food down the gullet of one

again with meat as he looked over his shoulder to watch with
excitement in his blue and orange eyes.

happily, arms flailing slightly as she motioned to all of the

Her eyes wandered off over the others, as if Searching for some

The winged fellow was still searching the area, surveying what
the others did and did not do. The emerging babies captivated
him, as his eyes lit up with the pure wonder of birth. Casual
thoughts turned into nagging questions in his mind. He had
been taught many useful things by the scientists, but these
things, he was afraid, were far from him. He had heard of
dragons, sure. Having lived on Planet his entire life, he had
heard of them often. But Inculpatus had never seen one before
Renaud's Adelinde, nor did he know anything of their lives. This
was all so curious to him and he found that he had edged closer
to get a better look at the dazzling young. The were beautiful
sleek creatures, each built uniquely.
These births reminded him of the lab. He had been told once
that he was a work of science, a great discovery. He was a
treasure, the scientists had said, and they had led him to learn
the secrets of his birth only once. They showed him the glossy
tube they had constructed his body in. "It is like an egg," a lab
technician named Jules had explained, "You were kept here to
grow and when it was time, you came out fully-grown and
strong." Inculpatus's mind settled on the subject of eggs,
something he was sure he knew nothing about. Still, the
memory from the lab and the metaphor it had presented made
Inculpatus feel, well... a little less odd. In his mind, he was not
so different from the dragons.
At the lab, Inculpatus had read that human infants were born
free of knowledge, speech, and mathematics. He had been born
cognizant and thinking, though he had to be taught to speak the
language as well as write and read. His eyes were curious,
thoughtful, and he asked the little creature, "How is it that
you know to speak? Are you not young?"

The Fallen stared down into the face of the blue-skinned woman
who lay prone and bleeding upon the ground, watching
disspassionately as she warred against the mortal instinct for
survival. He could see the indecision wash through her aura,
spikes of confusion penetrating the sharp red wash of pain and
agony. He watched, too, as desperation and hope overcame her
initial despondency, and knew her answer even before she
attempted to speak it. Blood stained her lips as she fought for
her voice, finally getting the strength to nod as she accepted his
offer. He disliked the sound of her cough - but no matter. Inches
away from death or a stubbed toe, the healing process was the
same. Whether she'd thank him for it in the end, however, was
always up for question. Oh, but she screamed so prettily,
before.
Slowly, slowly, the girl's torn flesh began to close, blood ceased
its escape from Jessari's body, and bruises and scrapes
dissappeared as if erased with an idle hand. Lungs were
bolstered and drained, her wing carefully mended. Broken bones
were gently aligned and set, even as the Fallen absorbed most
of the resulting pain into himself and left Jessari with only a
vague tingly warm feeling. Despite his warning to her, the
healing seemed pleasant indeed - but then, he'd never specified
who the healing wouldn't be pleasant for. After a few long
moments, Nero closed his eyes and lowered his arms, and the
shadows ceased their manic dance. He stood up. "Wait here,"
he told the S'kytri, and shifted through the darkness to the
tables of meat and water. Grabbing a few large pieces of flesh,
he returned to Jessari in the span of a few seconds.

dragon’s jaws had gone straight through his glove.
He rifled around in his belt and pulled out the bowl and the

she was in a place where a fox could be seen as the next meal!
Sadly enough for her she wasn't far from the Recalcitrant
Water Dragon and she wasn't entirely certain about any of
these creatures as she looked at the dragon before she decided
that perhaps being there as a humanoid would be better.

Then the warning came. Had she gotten too close? The other
girl had suffered a great deal with the swipe of the Herculean's
father's tail. Nostrils flared, she realized how close she actually
was to the other eggs and became very aware at how lucky she
was.. Certainly she'd be injured if she remained for much
longer.

After she had said her piece, the young lady walked away from
him and Thomas. Tobias watched her go with his curiosity
outweighing his disappointment. There were over twenty eggs,
and she had said that it would take more than meat to win one
of them. He was by no means out of the running; not yet.
Kallile

Steadily her eyes scanned over the crowd where the already
hatched had began mingling and accepting food offerings from
the other hopefuls. Well, other was used lightly. Kallile didn't
seem disheartened by the lack of interest from the hatchlings--
in fact she seemed quite content to wait it out.
Though she still thought the little one was being a bit of a
hypocrite, if what the little water female had said was true, why
worry? If it was meant to be it would be and if not she'd leave
this field companionless. She wasn't going to wave around her
food offering and baby-talk these hatchlings; leave that to the
others. No, she'd be passive rather than aggressive for once in
her life. As lovely as these beasts were, were they truly worth
losing fingers over? The jury was still out on that one.
She had come here to see what the heck was going on, after all.
She hadn't anticipated all this. For the time being she focused
on the mass of eggs busily cracking from behind their father's
tail. If nothing else she was getting to watch quite a show of
colors and personalities--each hatchling thus far had definitely
not acted newborn beyond their methods of transportation. She
was highly interested to hear what newly-formed bits of wisdom
might come from the next hatchlings mouth.

Theo was incredibly glad that a Dragon had not approached him.
He preferred standing in his place nearby Noah, observing,
taking the whole, slightly chaotic scene in. There was so much
happening, and even more occurring underneath the first,
obvious layer. There was a…tension that the Homunculus was
beginning to feel in his chest, and this time it wasn’t because of
the souls. These babies seemed a bit more aggressive than he
had expected. The equality that Theo believed was there was
now tipping off balance a little. He felt that the humanoids were
similar to offerings, waiting to be chosen by the hatchlings.
Used for a counterpart? Or a meal? He wasn’t sure.
Either way, he wasn’t afraid for himself. But as his dark eyes
landed on the enthusiastic Noah, he started feeling a bit
concerned. Did his young friend not say that he wished to pet
them, to play with them? It was starting to look like a worse
idea by the moment.
His head turned, scanning the others and picking apart how the
Dragonlets interacted with them. They were walking right
through them, snapping up meat and moving onto the next
person. Right over there, a small female humanoid was being
licked by one and touched by another. It was like they were
taste-testing. And he glanced just in time to see teeth in Solus’
hand. As friendly as Theo was, as respectful and loving towards
life as he felt, he was (and probably always would be) a very
untrusting person.
“Noah, keep in mind that these Dragons have sharp teeth and
claws. The Father is quite protective as well. Did you see what
happened to that poor girl?” A glance was shot at Jessari, who
seemed to be recovering just fine. “Be careful, if one
approaches you. I’m sure one will.” He let his hand slide away,
giving one last, small pat to the boy’s back before standing up
and returning to his spot a couple feet away.

But after examining those near him, Zeph concluded that there
were those who were more fearsome than him. Stretching his
bone wings, the man noticed that something was approaching
from the sky. Turing his attention towards it, he realized that it
must be the mother of the hatchings, come to view the bonding
for herself. Wondering what she was like and what her arrival
would mean, Zeph's gaze settled back on the eggs. No more had
hatched, but several were rocking wildly.

All around Tom, the hatching was getting into full swing. The
entire burnt-out clearing smelled of raw meat, and the air
crackled with excitement. This certainly wasn't what he had
been planning on doing today. It was fun, though, in its own
way. Tom enjoyed being around so many people, and watching
all the dragons hatch was nothing sort of amazing.
Aidan
Opaque Villager
Along with the other group of people that had rushed to Alice’s
aid, another man followed soon after Aidan had rushed over.
Nice. Quite the rescue group the girl had assembled for herself
here. And the two dragons were getting so much attention for
themselves, he was sure they were enjoying it. Their all-too-
amused expression and words made Aidan feel at ease, if only a
bit slightly. It seemed that the two dragons were not going to
eat her. It appeared that they wanted to have fun more than
anything. It was something he’d do if he was a newly hatched
dragonet that could terrorize people. Incidently, he was not, so
he’d stick to trying to give Alice an easier time with things, or
at least, impress the dragonets enough to have them avert their
attention elsewhere.
The two little dragonets did not seem to pay much heed to
anything besides the small girl, but they did respond to his
offers. “A guy like me doesn’t delay.” he said coolly before he
turned around, hands still gross from the raw meat and skate
down, weaving between people and dragonets (staying far, far
away from Papa Dragon) and finding himself once again at the
dragonet buffet table. Tying to flick off as much of the yuck as
he could, he picked two bowls up and filled them about halfway
with water, maybe a touch more. It wasn’t hard to skate on the
ground but it wasn’t smooth enough for him to go through and
over back to the dragonet twins quickly and with as much water
intact as possible if the bowls were filled any higher. By the
time he made his way back, one left, another joined in, and the
girl was offering up a bowl of her own to the two reptiles that
were very much teasing her in a not-so-pleasant way.

catching her attention. The Queen was approaching.

Those eggs that took so long to hatch were coming apart left
and right.
Just where the X marked the spot on the Twisted Travels Egg,
a light snout appeared. In a matter of moments the map had
been torn to shreds, pieces falling to leave behind another little
girl. The Adventurous Plains Dragon shook the pieces from
her nimble body and boldly made her way to the attendants.
Head swinging from side to side, it was clear that she was on
the prowl for something.
What didn't take long was for him to locate a source of meat
that had been neglected by his siblings for the most part. If
they didn't want it- well, who was he to object? He sauntered
over to Renaud and flicked his fins, tossing him an imperious
look. He'd take that meat you have there.
With a huff she stood still, and finally chose to growl at Zeph,
whose lack of flesh may have confused her. Smoke snorted from
her nostrils, her bulky figure tensing up like a particularly nasty
Rottweiler.
A lazy woman and her lazy behaviors may not have been noticed
by all, but in the sudden excitement of new hatchlings the
Beautiful Danger Egg had hatched unnoticed. It's occupant,
the Curious Water Dragon, had taken it upon herself to
clamber up the far side of the rock Emer leaned against. Quite
stealthy, this may have given a bit of start (but did save the
poor girl's life as Mikal would not risk lashing out at his child)
as a slimy snout was shoved into the side of her neck and hot
air breathed out. Why, hello.
Kallisto's eyes may have been raised to the sky, and thus she
missed the hatching of the quiet Second Chance Egg. not for
long, anyway, as the Dragonet had noticed the lack of attendees
that were alone and willing to handle a hungry stomach.
Both Chill Plains Dragon and the Prized Water Dragon were
happily listening to Alice's ramblings. You don't have to be a
full course meal.Just a low-calorie snack. They chimed
pleasantly, although the Water Dragon did eye the thing that
kept its body from frying out in the parched landscape. Pour
that over me. The Plains kept an eye on Bayley and the meat,
but did little more as Aidan scrambled off and quickly returned.
Now that was service.

"You're a silly little girl, aren't you? Well, come down here
and get some good food to fill your belly. You can go
bonding someone without it, now can you?"
The woman's voice was soft, soothing, and very caring. She was
a mother, and the dragon mother would recognize that tone of
voice, as if speaking to a young son or daughter. Her lips curled
up tenderly as if all she wanted was the best for this bright little
life, so new to the world, and yet knowing so much already. The
urge to protect flared inside of her as fiercely as the Mountain
father's had with Jessari, and yet... she was much, much subtler
about it, as opposed to lashing at everyone and giving glares
and growls. No, she would instead make slight innuendos, and
warn, give people chances first. Of course... that was only if the
danger wasn't imminent.
Pouring said water into also-said bowl, the nymph set it down
next to the meat in her lap, as she smiled some more and
continued speaking, enjoying this little dragon's company, "Ah,
you see? It's warm out, you must be thirsty. Let me know
if you'd like some more."
"Oh, those wicked two! Poor girl, being harassed like that.
I hope she's all right, and they don't hurt her," Émer
mused out loud in regards to the Chill Plains and the Prized
Water dragons and their bothering of Alice.
Biting her lip, she glanced around some more, taking in the
sights of the newly-hatched Satirical Forest wrapping himself
around another of her acquaintance's legs, giggling to herself
with glee for those she knew. Oh, even if she didn't get a bond,
she'd be thrilled to see her friends get some! Nearby, the young
and precocious miniature of Mikal was going around, the
Mountain male making her raise her eyes in surprise. Well, she
wouldn't want to go anywhere close to him... no, not if she
valued her life and limbs at least.
Zoey

Zoey sat still with her eyes closed. She'd almost finished the
song, when she heard something lapping at the water near her.
She quickly opened her eyes to see the small Adventurous
Plains Dragon start to hum along with her. Nearing the end she
decided to start the song over again, when it finished she held
her hand out towards the little dragonet, "You have a lovely
voice, little one. I hope you liked the lullaby. My mother
used to sing it to me." She smiled sweetly, her patience had
paid off, not that it meant she was in the clear.
The sun shone brightly, very few clouds covered the sky, making
the day seem perfect for a bonding. Zoey left her hand a few
inches away from the dragonet, she didn't want to startle her.
Kallile

But the idea of fruit did sound tempting, and as such there were
no callers around her eyeing the large-ish slap of meat she held
onto. Hauling herself onto her feet with gentle and practiced
ease, Kallile stretched and began an easy and slow paced walk
towards the offerings of fruit set out by the Queen. If the meat
happened to attract a hatchling on her way there, so be it.
The smell of fruit hit her immediately and the werewolf woman
let out a soft sigh. Ah, precious fruits. She hadn't had fresh
fruit in so long, she didn't really care what kinds Planet had to
offer. Surely the mother wouldn't dare try and poison a potential
bond to her own kids.
Approaching the barrel (and doing her best to pick her way
around those already in conversation with hatchlings. She
wasn't the jealous type--she'd stay out of it.) she gave quick
inspection of what was offered before picking out something
that looked vaguely familiar.
A little on the green and orange mixed side, both the color and
smell reminded her of a mango from back home--a rare delicacy
in the part of the world she had once lived in. Only this one was
particularly large--about the size of her head. Hefting it into her
arms she gave another nod of acknowledgment and thanks to
the royal pair and the little first-born on his father's back before
she started picking her way back to her original spot.

One of the eggs he had been eying with interest broke apart as

the bone man got a better view of the young dragon, tipping his

Noah

As the familiar hand was woven into his scruffy hair, Noah felt
the warmth of Theo's skin ebbing into the back of his neck as he
shifted to look over at his friend, a pleasant smile worming onto
his face. Listening calmly to his friend's worrisome tone, the
boy chuckled and met the man's caution with blissful ignorance.
He was glad, touched you could say even, that Theo cared to
the degree of warning him, but yet he still dismissed the
foresight swiftly, all too eager to think that no one was here to
hurt any of them, even the baby dragons themselves.
While Noah had been examining the shaken girl, Theo had
collapsed onto his knees only a few paces behind him, a hand
gripping at his side as a thick, crimson ooze began to pull itself
from in between his fingers. A hollow shudder rocked through
Noah's own chest and body, sending an unwelcome pulse
through his soul. Gritted fingers releasing the clasps of meat
and leaving them to plop into the ashen dust, the young boy
squirmed over towards his spontaneously wounded companion,
one hand firmly placed on his shoulder for support while the
other rested atop Theo's own grip. "Oh my gosh! Theo! Wha'
happen'd?" His voice had a certain level of hysteria in it, hard
as he might to remain calm and helpful in the situation. His own
fingers had already been smothered in a thin lap of blood from
holding the chunks of meat, and now the stream of fresh fluid
splashed onto his palm and wrist, his fingers pushing against
the wound to helplessly coax the blood back inside. 'Oh dear, oh
dear, oh dear!'

A fine idea hit him as he looked at the large bowl, torn between
keeping it neat and clean, or doing what he had thought of
doing. It would make a nice little pool if he filled it. He looked
around a little, offering another piece as he tried to decide. If
he left the little one alone with the meat, he might gobble it and
choke... but a pool was a fine offer. "My little friend, I would
leave you with the meat, but I do not trust your newborn tummy
not to choke you..." He said with a little laugh, dangling another
meaty treat for him.

There might be time for regrets later. In the here and now, the
mother dragon had deposited food and water for them, a most
gracious gesture. Tobias watched as Kallile took a mango-like
object from the barrel before deciding to follow suit. He was
hungry, and as there was no such thing as a free lunch (you had
to brave dragon-babies before you got your meal), he'd take
whatever was close and familiar. Walking forth, he dipped his
head to the Queen, murmuring a "Many thanks to ya, miss,"
before withdrawing what could have been an orange.
The orange-fruit peeled easily to reveal hot pink flesh rife with
seeds. Tobias put a segment in his mouth and found the taste to
be pleasantly sour, almost spicy.

After checking to make sure she had enough meat for another
hungry hatchling and finding she had plenty, she did her best to
place herself in a convenient location for the little dragons
without getting closer than was polite or sane (though any
sanity at this point was questionable at best). Her clothes were
fairly well ruined and she looked like she was bleeding to death
or had had someone bleed to death on her. She didn’t really
mind though. She’d needed new clothes anyway.
Then the mother landed. Ari lost all track of the hatchlings and
other attendees as the huge plains dragon arrived. She
managed a polite bow in the queen’s direction that probably
went unnoticed. Then, after taking a deep breath, she turned
her attention back to the little dragons. The were-girl was ready
and waiting for any little one that might want her help getting
fed or something.

It was when she was at the table that the mother had come. Her
breath was simply whisked away, that was one mighty pretty

from her as she made the speech, Ore looked at everyone else's
expressions and to her suprise the cat-lady bowed. Well not
really to her suprise, more of, it was a tad old fashioned... even
if such a creature seemed to deserve it. Oh well, some people
just had different styles and such.
Returning to her spot, the reptilian humanoid swept her eyes
over the eggs. There were some left and they seemed to scream
that there was still hope left for Ahora. It was simply a matter
of time before the rest hatched and chose a particular person to
bond to. And with all the luck in the world, hopefully one would
pick her.

Bayley
Opaque Villager
Trotting back over to the two dragons and Alice, she felt some
water slosh out of the bowl and over her hands. Oh gosh. Walk
slower! Oh, wait, go faster! Um... oh crud. An apple rolled off
towards her destination, hitting Alice in the foot. Dang it! "He-
here's your water. And I got fruits!" she said, somewhat
jittery now. She had spilled a good amount of the water, but
there was still about 2/3 of it in there. She took the two fruit
bowls out and placed them with the meat, keeping them at a
distance that wouldn't let them be mixed. Hefting the bowl high,
she looked to Alice to grab the other side of it so that they
could slowly dump it over the Water Dragon once Alice was
finished with the first bowl.
Bayley tried to blow sweat off her brow, but it wouldn't go much
of anywhere except in her eyes. She wanted to rub at it, as it
was making her uncomfortable, but at the same time, she
couldn't put down the bowl. If she tried to, she would end up
spilling it, and she probably wouldn't be able to lift it back up
again if she had. She could make it. She furrowed her brow and
hoped that the rest of it would run down her nose rather than
into her eyes.

“Well if ya’ don’t mind,” Aidan began, sliding back and forth
against the ground on his skates, slowly backing towards where
the mother had landed, “I’ll go get some fruit over there.
Give me a shout if ya want me back, yeah?” And with that
he turned around smoothly and made his way casually over to
the mother. Fruit sounded good right now, and the boy gave
Reyleith an appreciative smile, though a smile like that for him
usually turned into something of a smirk. “Thanks Ms.
Reyleith.” He said simply, and reached one of his hands and
grabbed an apple, a fruit that was easy to eat without making
much of a mess. He took a bite, careful to keep the juices from
dribbling down his chin, and surveyed the area. The dragonets,
even the newly hatched ones that he was noticing as he saw
them just now, all seemed to be getting along just fine with all
of the candidates.

The fact that Evangelines logic was off was not far from the
truth, she was trying to learn and get accustomed to the world
that she was now living in. She didn’t fully understand the
gargantuan importance and rarity of this sort of bonding, or any
bonding really, and so figured that this was just like any other
time she attempted to make friends. Her roleplayer is entirely
pleased that the winged one had someone sane enough to
attempt at explaining such things to her.
When the mother dragon landed and spoke of fruits she glanced
at the barrel and then to the Water female, “If I go get some
fruit you’re not going to leave right?” She asked unsure.
She didn’t want to go if this female was going to leave just like
her brother had. Finally nodding (roleplayer hopes that the
loverly Water agrees not to leave) the angel spread her wings
and leapt into the air winging toward the food and water. Taking
a single banana, and putting it into her pouch, she thanked the
mother politely and then headed back with a bowl of water
cradled in her arms and a few pieces of raw meats for hr new
Water friend.
Landing near her she placed the water bowl down and then
offered a slab of meat to the regal Water, “You know what?”
She questioned, “Even if you bond to someone I don’t know
I know in my heart of hearts that we will be friends.” She
stated as she settled down on the ground to peel the banana.
Going back over the words of the Savvy female the youngling
tilted her head, “Do you feel yours around here?” she asked,
looking out cross the crowd, “I hope you get the best bond in
the world. You’re so nice, even to people you don’t know.
Your bond will be really lucky to have you.” She stated
before smiling up at the hatchling, “That’s what I think
anyways.” she grinned before offering a piece of the banana to
the clutchling. “Want some?” she asked.

The thing had bitten him! Instead of angrily kicking over the

of a scolded child, taking in the wise words of instruction from
the young dragon. He peered curiously in the direction
indicated, catching sight of Karina for the first time, as well as
the meat table just beyond her.
His pulled his bitten finger from his mouth, a small childish pout
crossing his lips as he peered down at the dragon. He sighed
slightly, and shrugged, "Ah, well... Okay." The winged fellow
then pulled his attentions from the curious creature and trudged
to the girl.
But upon fixing his eyes on her, his face lit up with a small
smile, polite and kind. "Hello," he started, scripted greetings
fluttering through his mind, "I am Inculpatus." He bowed very
lightly, his wings lowering out of respect. He stood up straightly
and paused, seemingly searching his head for the next proper
thing to say or do. He turned to glance back at the dragon,
pointing slightly, before fixing his eyes on Karina's, "The young

Nero

The Fallen's eyes swept over the gathering as the ripe promise
of mischief brushed across his senses, his flinching attention
quickly resolving upon a knot of humanoids near the center of
the group. The nearby Archer and Bayley and Aidan were
afforded cursory glances, but the trouble seemed to lie with the
last girl, Alice. More than a touch of death hung about her, but
that did not seem to be the issue at the moment - rather, her
involvement with a certain pair of dragonets proved far more
troublesome.
Gritting his teeth against the tearing pain in his midsection and
chest, ignoring the burning of his blood, Nero moved further
into the gathering, nearer to Alice and the two dragonets that
teased her. Though his sense of the hatchlings lacked any real
malice, he knew very well that rough play for a dragonet could
easily become lethal, even accidentally, and he mistrusted that
spark of whimsy in the air. Breathing shallowly to avoid
damaging his rebelling body any further, the Fallen stepped into
the general mill, prepared to weave through the tangled maze of
humanoids and dragonets in order to come to Alice's aid. Before
he could get too far, however, the Majestic Plains Dragon
approached, which forestalled any further forrays into the
crowd. It would be very rude to ignore the hatchling, after all -
a hanging offense at least on par with denying any of her
siblings their first meal.
With a sigh, Nero placed the meat in his hand upon a nearby
rock as he bowed his head towards the Plains in recognition.
The creature was tangled in the odd material of its hatching
egg, and seemed to require aid in its removal. Nero hesitated,
looking towards Jessari. He would not chance touching the
newborn with the darkness running so powerfully through his
body. "It would be best, I think, if you asked the Lady for
her aid. She can help you far more readily than can I." He
gestured towards the S'kyriti with an idle motion of his
untainted hand, careful to keep his dark claw clenched and
motionless. He didn't want any accidents, after all.

Evangeline had her hands full with the Savvy Water Dragon,

there? Ari didn’t have a clue. To tell the truth, she hadn’t had a
clue about how anything worked since she’d been dropped on
this strange world. She did have one rather odd friend teaching
her the ropes of survival, but other than that, she felt lost and
very alone. Maybe that was why it hurt to be ignored. All she
really wanted was a friend and she was doing her best to be
friendly (and at the same time not become food) but it didn’t
seem to be working out too well.
Tobias Creed
Po l i s he d Ai d e
Still chillin’ on the outskirts, Tobias finished what was left of his
delicious, spicy grapefruit. The juices dribbled down his
unshaven chin, and he wiped them with his sleeve, only now
beginning to comprehend why everyone was in such an agitated
state. Now that the eggs had begun to regurgitate their
contents willy-nilly, a few other dragons had decided on their
Bonds. It was touching, if you were game for that Disney-style,
insipid hogwash.
“Suppose you can’t claim any credit if you never get to the
bank,” he said, the words falling on open air.
“You all right there, then? Saw you get into a bit of a
scuffle. Just wanted to make sure nothin’ was hurt.” How
considerate of you, Toby. Only, you idiot, you forgot to bring
food. “I, uh. I could go get some meat for you, if you’d
like. Christ, I don’t know how this works.” That last
outburst was an exasperated whisper, accompanied by his hand
balling into a fist. It unclenched as soon as he felt the ragged
tips of his nails digging into his palm. This was ludicrous. In the
bluntest of terms, he was a doer, not a thinker. Whatever
complex processes initiated a bond, he couldn’t feel their
stirrings in him, and wondered if his presence at this hoity-toity
event was little more than a huge joke.
Renaud le Gant
Glittery Villager
"Here you go, little one." The plant man said as he set the
sloshing bowl down, cupping some in his large hands to let it
trickle down on the waiting Dragonet. "Here is some cool water
for your tender hide my little friend. It is a little warm out
today." He smiled with excitement, just liking the fact that one
of the babes was paying attention to him. Even if it moved on to
someone else, he would just be tickled green that he had the
chance to give it their first meat and water.
He tried not to let his eyes wander as a few more Dragons made
their bond with one of the humanoids. It was a beautiful thing
that he hoped to feel one day. More eggs were hatching, the
colored shells flying here and there as they all met the world.
So beautiful...
Knight
Opaque Villager
Wow. Knight had never been rash in her life. Shy and catious
most of the time, the girl had always made fun of her little
brother and best friend, telling them that there jump-before-
looking mindset would get them killed.
Yet she was the one approaching a none too happy young
dragon with her only plan being 'this is stupid. don't die.'
Her brother's 'wouldn't it be fun to sled off the roof of our three
story house when theres seven feet of pure fluff snow to get
buried with on the ground? mom would have to dig us out like
she had to do for our brother one time!' plan couldn't beat this.
Not even her friend's 'I wanted to shout something at that
person, but she got in the car so I'll open the car door to shout
it at her so my friends will have to tell her mom that I'm
mentally ill so I won't get in trouble for it!' idea was as stupid.
Why had she hung with such bad influences? Oh yeah. In hopes
of rubbing off on them. Well, wasn't that just paying off.
But the dragon's responce to her was a little unexpected. Not
that she expected much of anything. She was never doing this
again. She hated not having even a fantasy of an idea about the
out come of things. Sure she was a dreamer, but she had always
been the 'realistic' if I had super powers and used them to fight
evil, I might get hurt type of dreamer. Not the everything-has-
happy-endings-so-why-bother-thinking-them-up she was now.
And so, all the dragon had really done was ask a question that
she didn't quite know how to answer. But in a tone of voice that
really annoyed her, and warned her that she might wanna try to
preserve what pride she had. A warning that told her that her
attempts to do so would probably cause her to look foolish. But
that message seemed to be ignored.
Knight stood up to her full highth. Not a common thing, saying
how she was a teenager with such teenage posture. And not like
it was too impressive. At 5 foot 5, her friends had started
calling her short. Sure, she was taller than most her class for
the first year or two of it, but then when she refused to grow
more, everyone passed her.
"Well?" She returned the dragon's question. Her voice was
raised more than normal, but that wasn't saying much for the
quiet girl, "Oh, I guess I don't really know! Maybe I was just
tryin' to be friendly, 'cause no one else was. But then again its
quite obvious why no one tries, 'cause ya ain't very friendly
yourself. But oh, you made me think of someone I knew, I don't
know why though, as he's one of my nicest cousins despite his
permanant glare. But he ain't here right now, so I desided to
greet you. And you aren't even hungry. Ain't that a funny thing?
All your siblings seem to be goin' around eating what meat they
can find and you haven't seemed in'trested in one bite."
It was a long, blabbering speach for her. Stronger emotions led
her to using odd speach patterns that held their roots in country
talk, but varied greatly with the girl's odd nature. Her accent
was also country, having spent the first five years of her life
there, then returning every summer. That was more home to her
than the cold, dry, mountains her family had moved to for her
father's job. But due to speach impediments that made it hard
for her to correctly prounouce 'j's and hard 'th's, many thought
her to be French normally, though she'd been asked about every
other ancestry on Earth as well it seemed.
But her speach hadn't broken into Old English, and she had
stayed on topic mostly through her babbling. So it wasn't all
humbling failure was it? And besides, she remembered who the
young dragon made her think of. She had a cousin who always
looked angry and mean, but to family (and she imagioned close
friends), it was impossible to get him truely angry and he
wouldn't hurt any of them. She didn't quite see that kind
harmlessness from this dragon, but it was the exterior that
struck the resembulence.
Zoey
Opaque Villager
"I guess you're right, only thought you might like to hear
the beginning." The half-elf smiled, the dragonet had a sense
of music, which delighted her. She looked around having
forgotten where she'd layed the pieces of meat, quickly finding
them she picked up the biggest piece and held it out for the
Adventurous Plains Dragon, hoping that she wouldn't lose a
few fingers in the process.
"I have more if you want. So you like singing, right?"
Striking up a conversation seemed like a great idea, as she
moved the rest of the meat in front of the dragonet, so she
could fill her stomach. Zoey's own growled moments later, it had
been a good thing that she had packed some snacks for herself,
pulling out a small orange fruits. Peeling back it's tough skin
sent a tiny spray of mist at the half-elf, leaving a tart scent in
the air. She took a bite out of the flesh she'd revealed, a crunch
could be heard.
So far, her first dragon bonding was going well, which only
made her more delighted. She looked around at the gathering
seeing that more eggs had hatched, and a few more dragonets
seemed hungry as well. Zoey thought if anymore came over, she
would have to pull out the meat that she'd packed for later.
Aidan
Opaque Villager
“Here ya’ go Biannjah, for you and your bro.” A thin, curling
smirk wrapped around the Plains dragon’s maw as the boy
tossed the food to her brother and to herself as well. It hadn’t
yet dawned on him, had it? She glanced back at her twin
brother, her crimson eyes swirling strands of gold and maroon,
giving him a nod of something of a farewell. They wouldn’t bond
to the same person, but that didn’t mean they wouldn't always
be twins. She knew they’d find their way to each other one day,
she knew they’d cause mischief as one unit once more in the
near future. Aidan wouldn’t be able her to keep her from it.
Kallile
Polished Villager
One hand still holding out the offering of meat (what the little
one was sure to prefer, considering there had been tons of the
stuff handed out at the beginning), Kallile carefully and skillfully
worked her pocket knife around the near center of the fruit she
had obtained to pull out the sweetest, juiciest hunk of fruit-
flesh from within the mango-esque hull.
The girl (what was it, Bayley?) returned with water and... Was
that fruit? Her stomach growled loudly in protest, her hunger
almost hurt the feeling unreal. She wouldn’t live much longer,
she was sure of it, even if she survived this sacrificial party (or
whatever it was) she’d try to get to some for of civilization and
DROP DEAD.
In all reality she wasn’t healthy but she still had a ways to go
before starving to death, don’t worry about it.
Oh, right, the water. Alice raised her arms with Bayley to help
pour the clean, cool water over the water dragon at her side,
turning her attention to the crowd for a moment, a treat to look
away from these scaly personal-space invaders.
Whether it was just his strange look or something deeper and
hard wired in her human side she noticed a strange winged man
who appeared to be in pain. He was a dark sort of creature and
Alice picked up on that (maybe those last, super natural
moments on Evelon had done something to her head, or had
just made her paranoid) as she watched him move about the
crowd. The gritted teeth and concern on his face sent mixed
messages to Alice. Good? Bad? Some form of grey?
Alice didn’t know but she did know that when he moved away
she was a little relieved.
The two mean beasties talked at her and the words were now
grating, frustrating her to no end. Hunger and fear and
exhaustion was trying on her patience now and the urge and
desire to just shove those scaly hides, to kick and punch and
scream, throw a tantrum, it was there just simmering at the
surface.
“Mmm...”
When the plains got off of her Alice almost squealed, a scream
of pure joy biting at the back of her throat and making it feel
sore and dry. Lips remained closed and tightened slightly. A
slight tug at the corners but otherwise she did not react. If it
thought she was happy, god forbid the hatchling might come
back to ensure her misery was eternal. Her attention turned to
the water.
“Ah!” There was a tug at her hand and she lurched forward
before letting go as she tried to regain her balance, head
turning away from the water and towards the cowboy just in
time to see him go down because of his own dragon problems.
Okay, no problem. You just lost your life line, no worries you
can totally... totally get through this. Hey! Maybe that guy
would try and stick it out with you, you know? Maybe he
wouldn’t just leave you with this thing that had every means
and ability to end your life whenever.
Karina
Opaque Villager
Karina moved to the table of food and picked some up, sniffing
at it and rolling it around before she turned and walked off. She
wasn't entirely sure what she was doing with this stuff, and
quite frankly... it all just seemed really WEIRD. Why was she
going to grab food for a dragon when there was a table of it
right there? Certainly she was missing something.
Naturally, when she spotted that the beast had moved on... well
she was even more confused! Her eyes traveled over the various
beasts as she wandered through the mass of bodies... at least
until she just about tripped over one tail or another. A soft yelp
escaped her, but she managed to avoid the apendage and
continued wandering, confused and quite certain someone
should tell her just what was going on.
Bayley
Opaque Villager
Bayley was relieved when Alice grabbed the bowl and helped her
heave the water over the dragon. "Whoo! Thanks," she said,
wiping her hand at her brow and dropping the bowl. She rubbed
the sweat from her forehead and smiled at her handiwork. That
should keep the dragon happy. She grabbed a piece of fruit and
handed one to Alice. "You alright?" Bayley asked, concerned.
Alice didn't look too good.

Ahora

Ahora was getting a little testy just waiting. A person could only
just sit around for so long! Besides there were bondings going
on.... Ore looked at them wistfully. So far it appeared that only
a few had bonded so perhaps there was a chance for her? The
reptilian hybrid looked around dismally though. There were
bound to be a few extra humanoids without bonds... Which was
the saddest part of everything. What if she was one of them?
Ahora nibbled on her lip before standing up. See, with self
doubt came motivation for Ahora. She would have a bonded, or
at least would try harder!
Her gaze softened a bit though as she surveryed the scene.
Aww.... She trotted over next to a man who seemed to be
calling to one the newer hatched dragons. The dragon had
hatched from an egg that Ore had been watching as well and
even though at a closer look it seemed adorable and just as
amazing as the rest, it didn't seem to appeal to her. Though
seeing how the man next to her was incredibly interested, Ahora
tore a piece of meat off the one she was carrying and offered it
to Tobias.
Before long, Ahora wandered off, finding a dragon that sparked
her curiousity more. The Dramatic Mountain Dragon seemed
to want food right then and since no one else seemed to be
paying attention to her, Ore walked quickly over to her, offering
what she had left to the dragon. "Hungry?" Ahora had to bite
her lip from completing that setance with 'much.' She didn't
know how easily dragons took little teasing sayings like that and
she did not want to lose a limb anytime soon. But she did end
up adding something else, "If you want more, I can get some."

From the outside, the wound was bound. But beyond the first
few layers of skin, it was agonizing chaos and Nyxeliade knew
this. Theo felt more conflicted than he had ever before. Such
comfort and love washing over him, but there remained the
looming sense of his decaying existence.
“Nyxeliade,” the name rolled off his tongue like liquid, “I don’t
want to leave you, but I can’t stop them. I—” He stopped
himself from speaking, knowing that Noah was right there. And
yet, it was so incredibly easy to transition into thoughts.
I killed them.
He could hear their soft whispers, their anger now mixed in with
understanding. The truth was a precious thing and would never
cause any extra mix-ups. It was pure, natural—like this link
between Theo and Nyxeliade.
Suddenly, the voices picked up. He could hear them, feel them
running through his body. His eyes widened in fear, anticipating
that they were about to begin battling him again.
[I cannot even put into words how incredibly joyous and amazed

Well, there was no need to get down about it, he told himself.
There were still more hatchlings around, after all. And even if
none of them did choose him, well...he could do without. Still -
he wanted this to happen. Fingering the remaining meat in his
hands, he set off purposefully towards where some of the slower
eggs were hatching. Most of those already hatched were
speaking to others, and he was reluctant to interfere with any
potential bondings. The new hatchlings were free for anyone to
approach, however.

The tiny Pin t-si zed E gg was nearly trampled underfoot, bouncing
up and down as the tremors of it’s siblings movements caused it
to shake and shimmy upon the ground. With a particularly good
bounce, the poor egg cracked open - revealing the smallest
Mountain dragon anyone was ever likely to encounter. Smaller
even than some of her Water siblings, the Miniscule Mountain
Dragon shook herself free of the last shells of her egg,
immediately jumping into the tussle between her larger
brothers. The play-fight escalated until Reyleith calmly reached
down to separate the three hatchlings with her muzzle. The
small Mountain and her Capricious brother headed good-
naturedly out into the crowd, while the Viscous Plains Dragon
remained nearby to nuzzle his mother. When Emer chanced
closer to speak to her, Reyleith answered with a motherly smile.
Yes, I will miss them a little. But today is their day, and
yours. I can only hope that all of you can do what I could
not.
With the newborn Suave Plains Dragon, Ari had struck just the
right chord. He thinks himself handsome, too. You are not
so bad yourself, pretty girl. With a wink, the Plains snatched
up her offerings, curling his tail comfortably around her ankle as
he lapped up some of the water. Don’t look so down,
sunshine. I‘m here after all. Not exactly subtle, but the
message was clear. How you doin’, sugar? ;P
[Again, sorry for the delay, guys, but the bonded dragon
descriptions will go up within the next few days. Don't worry, I
promise I'll get them all typed up before Thursday!]
Ari
Polished Villager
Pull yourself together girl! Crying won’t get you anything but
sore eyes. Ari willed herself to think about other things, namely,
the handsome young plains fellow with his tail around her ankle.
She smiled at the Suave Plains hatchling as she handed over
her offerings. There was a hint of shyness in her voice and
sadness in her eyes despite the smile she wore.
Alice Gray
Polished Villager
Was she alright? She was.... alive. Alice sighed and shook her
head, her brain and buzz her head hurting from stress and a
lack of... many necessities. The air around her crackled with
bondings. Left and right they seemed to happen with no
apparent rhyme or reason.
Though technically she had not yet gotten settled on Isnit she
would find that bondings happened around her more often then
they happened to her, and they would happen to her quite
often. She was like a magnet for bondings, not always her own.
This seemed to continue as Bayley bonded to her ex-captor,
saved by a dragon that looked like the one that had bonded to
the skater boy.
She blinked curiously to Bayley and her bonded before shaking
her head and silently wishing the girl good luck with that one.
Alice didn’t care, it was up to the dragon but she wasn’t going
to put it off for anyone. They seemed to think they were so
great and seemed perfectly capable of making their own
decisions. She left the offer open before simply walking past the
dragon, swerving through the crowd (subconsciously keeping a
safe distance from the other dragons) to get to the barrel of
fruit.

Archer

One minute he was reaching for Alice's hand, the next he was
eating dirt. Archer rolled over, squinting into the sun overhead,
heart hammering. The girl... if something had taken him down,
then she could be...
Yet in the split second it took to form that thought a shadow fell
over him. A muzzle, not a face, peered down at him, its features
haloed and obscured by sunlight. His fingers searched the dirt
for a rock, closing around one...
"Wha...?"
THE GIRL.
Archer spun. The girl, the one he'd been about to save, who'd
been about to be eaten. "Where'd she go?"
This time the nudge was far less gentle. There are other little
girls without anything to eat, you know. Like me.
Kallile
Po l i s he d Vi ll a g e r
Well aware of the deadly game of jeopardy she had just brought
herself into, Kallile stood strong against the teeth that came
crashing down dangerously close and knew there would be no
difference between the meaty treat and the crunch of her fragile
fingers should the Recalcitrant Water Dragon have shifted
just centimeters closer. But she was a fighter, at heart, and a
few broken bones or missing fingers (or the idea of them, at
least) did not daunt her for the time being.
Thomas
Opaque Villager
...and just then he was nudged from behind, hard enough that
he had to throw out one hand to catch himself. Flipping around,
so that he was seated with his legs curled beneath him, he saw
his attacker - another hatchling. This one looked more like the
first one he'd spoken to - wings, legs, tail, all the parts of what
he considered to be a proper dragon were present and
accounted for. The one that had just bonding to Tobias had been
different, green and snakelike and furry. Quite different from
the parents, just how did that work, anyway? Tom wondered idly
for a second, before quickly realizing the reason that the
dragonet had approached him: he was hungry. Very hungry
Tom shifted to a kneeling position and held out the meat he had
been offering to the other dragon, holding it carefully so as to
avoid being nipped by overly-enthusiastic dragon teeth. "Hey,
here you go. No need to push," he said, though his tone was
too mild for the words to really sound like much of a rebuke.
They were only newborns, after all.
Ahora
Opaque Villager
Yay! She didn't get eaten after all! Ahora felt strangely proud of
this little fact, not that y'know it woulda happened anyways....
Maybe.. Well you never know! Though the girl was happy that
the lovely mountain(maybe, just a thought though?) didn't just
pass her by, instead she stayed rather close. Though she did
seem hungry still! Ahora took like two seconds out of her time
to think about running back to get more food before actually
doing it.
"Hey, y'know what? Would you mind staying right here? I'll be
right back with more steak and water and fruits and what not."
All she could carry more like it. Which, with only one arm able
to really carry things, wasn't exactly the greatest amount ever,
but hopefully in the end it would be at least semi-enough to
satisfy the little ones (well not really little... but child and all
that jazz) appetite.
So without an answer (maybe she should have waited.... Oh
well. Hopefully this one wouldn't like bite her head off (literally
and figuratively) for not waiting), Ore took off at a fast paced
trot/ run towards the table, trying her best to avoid stepping on
tails and bumping into others, and when she did she
immediately flew on by with a quick Sorry!
Once at the table, Ahora paused a few seconds, studying the
meat. She didn't have any meat eaters (well ones that liked
steak) so naturally, Ore didn't have the faintest idea what was
what. Finally she settled on two steaks, one looked like a T-
bone (well it had a bone in the shape of a T, so it better be that
or the person who named the steaks was either blonde or
stupid, no offence to the blondes out there) and the other was
just some sort of cut that was big. Well in her eyes anyways, to
a dragon maybe not that much.
Ahora managed to curl her claw just enough to hold the steaks
as she picked up a flask of water and since she hadn't the
faintest idea where the fruit was (though perhaps it was that
colorful pile people were grabbing from.. Huh. OH well) Ahora
just continued back to the dragon. A little less rushed this time,
but she didn't want her to go away. That would be seriously
dissapointing and incredibly embarressing.
Ahora went directly back to the spot where she had encountered
the mountain dragon and instantly laid down the water and the
steaks. They were a pain to carry and she wanted them out of
her hair as soon as possible. Not to mention the meat had like
liquid stuff on the outside. Blech. How anyone could eat this
stuff raw was beyond her, but then again they were carnivores
and they were dragons. She wasn't exactly in any position to
question their eating habits.

Kallisto watched him, her glowing green eyes matching the rich,
textured green of his scales. Complimentery indeed. Terrestal.
There was a low, soft rumble of contentment in her throat. One
might call it a purr if one wasn't frightened of getting their face
bitten off. "Hmmm.' Her hum seemed two-toned, part human,
part....something more animal. "The pleasure is mine." She
spoke, voice low and amused. The Tigress shifted, facing
Terrestal, head lowering slightly so her feline eyes met his own,
purple-like ones. Both Dragon and Bonded examined each other,
as if trying to learn each other's secrets with that one glance.
Well, this was certainly going to be an interesting experience.

Knight
Opaque Villager
Knight barely had time to register from the time she had ended
her talking to when she found herself laying on her back with
the young dragon snarling down at her.
She had defiantly seen that coming, and hadn't done a thing
about it. The funny thing about her was, as long as she was
around other people, she was the sane one, the good influence.
As soon as she had been a way from them for a few days
though? Thats when they started to rub off on her. Both her
best friend and her younger brother was rash, and she'd made
fun of them for it. But now here she was, acting just like them
in even more dangerous situations.
As soon as the dragon left her, she stood up, shaking her head
to get what dirt she could out of her hair. Anger at the dragon
flared up shortly, but dissapaited as soon as he left her veiw,
leaving behind only pride. Oh yes. She was a prideful girl who
tried to be modest. She was the shy girl who rarely talked, but
was blunt and honest when she did speak up. But the childish
insecurities had caused her to act immature, causing her a
fearful moment.
The girl looked around again, observing the activty around her.
No one seemed to be paying any attention to her. Good. That
ment they probably didn't see her make a complete fool of
herself. Bondings were happening left and right. That one forest
was still perched on his dad's back.
What was he looking for anyways? What were they all looking
for? Some of the dragons seemed to randomly approach a
person and bond them, without even talking previously. Odd was
the only word for it really. Atleast... It just wasn't something
she understood.
But the main thing Knight wanted to know was what the heck
was she supposed to do now. There wasn't anyone she knew
well enough to approach (and the rashly approaching someone
proved not to work very well for the girl). She wasn't like her
younger brother, just going around with a grin shaking
everyone's hand and being perfectly friendly regardless of if
she'd even seen them before. And she had moved herself nicely
from the edges of the crowd and was now into it. Crowds were
not quite a place she knew how to find her way through. She
normally allowed someone else to clear the path for her, and
would just follow close enough behind them that the path didn't
have time to close up between her and the one she was
following. But the leader was normally a friend who was going
the exact place she was, and didn't mind her following them.
And there wasn't any of those people here. And while she could
sprint in an unfammiliar forest without grazing any trees, she
couldn't find a single path in the mass of a group of people.

Thomas, who had followed him to the recently broken eggs, had

and she ate them with subdued gusto, ever patient.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoy my name too. It's very dragon-y, I

He didn't talk much, did he? "Well, I think I'll need to give you a

him down at Theo's side, Noah grinned childishly with delight,
cobalt eyes sparkling like champagne. Excitedly, Noah threw his
arms around his friend's shoulders, careful not to crush
Nyxeliade beneath his grasp, but tightened his grip in a friendly
hug. "Ya see, now? I told ya you'd get a lil' kiddo, didn't I?
Mhm I did! An' she's a really pretty one, too!" With that, his
grip slackened around his companion, one hand staying on
Theo's shoulder while the other went to softly stroke Nyxeliade
cheek, his boyish fingers running down her smooth skin softly.
Oh, what a day!
But then, Noah felt the strangest feeling. It was like a magnetic
force pulled his head to twist around and glance at the crowd,
blurring the bodies and shapes of the surrounding guests and
hatchlings until there was only a single one that stayed within
focus. A pulse of life throbbed down his spine, similar to the
dominant shivers that would come moments before he shifted
into his animal form, but this one was different... This one
almost had the purest essence of apathy tangled in the marvels,
and suddenly, Noah knew exactly how Theo had felt.
The ashen body of the Mountain came trudging over, the thick
stomach of the dragon swinging with his brutish step. His awe
struck face finally molded into a delighted smile, the happiness
similar to that of a child seeping from his presence. His very
own dragon! This was one of the many moments in his life,
where a smile could simply not be wiped from his face. From ear
to ear his cartoonish grin reigned, the pearly teeth in his cavity
glowing in the sunlight. He hardly knew what to say, but
naturally, being Noah, he said something anyway. "Oh gosh!
This is just.. This is so unexpected! Aww Hymnaal, I'm
Noah! Oh, well, I s'pose you already know that, dontcha?
Well, this is Theo 'ere, he's my best friend, mhm. An' uh...
Ohh just gosh!" Feeling a swift flush to his cheeks, he
swallowed awkwardly as the pink hue reached his face, sending
waves of blood to his ears. A small, pitying small found its way
onto Hymnaal's own marble lips, his tail flicking as he strode
closer. "I suppose you'll have to do, won't you? Don't
worry, Noah, I'll get a back bone for you yet."
Rescued from her captors, it was hardly any wonder that Alice
felt the need to indulge in some near-hysteric relief. The
Adventurous Plains Dragon regarded the girl with frank
curiosity as Alice’s stomach grumbled, though responded with a
You‘re welcome, anyways. When Alice moved off to get herself
some food, the Plains moved along with her, and all of her
draconic siblings were careful to move out of the way as the
pair swept along. When the girl dug into the barrel of fruit, the
female’s eyes were almost steely as she got a good look at the
tear tracks upon Alice’s face. The Prairie Treasure Plains
suppressed a hiss, waiting until the girl had at least finished
chewing before addressing her - and at the same time, wrapping
her consciousness around her like a shield. Alice. I know that
you’re not too happy with my kind at the moment, but pay
attention now, it‘s important. My name is Ralannath. The
Queen had taken an official interest - and no one would ever try
to subvert a dragon Queen’s desires. Alice had found herself the
perfect guardian; but would she be able to handle the fiery
personality that came along with it?
Nearer to the eggs, and even though she was currently having a
conversation with his Reyleith, Emer would not be allowed to
escape notice for very long. The Dynamic Mountain Dragon
popped out of the crowd to creel longingly at the nymph,
obviously quite hungry, though he seemed perfectly happy just
to be so near to a humanoid. Indeed, though he continued to
whine for food, the Mountain danced around Emer with frank
curiosity in his gaze, sniffing and snuffling the previously-
supposed vampire all over.

"I sure hope so too, dear queen. One can't help but be
touched by their young innocence of sorts." As if to
underscore that fact, up came the excitable little Mountain.
Emer could almost imagine him wagging a furry tail, tongue
slopping for any open, salty skin to show his affection. But not
quite; there was still too much dignity in the shape of a dragon
for her to reduce him to a slavering, bouncing little puppy-dog
(however much she wanted him to be one).
Giggling, she pulled a bit of meat from under her dress, where
she'd been storing the scraps, for lack of anywhere else to put
them. Without shame, she held it out, minding her fingers, but
not being tentative in the least--she was not scared of them.
No, but she did offer respect in the form of a nodded head, even
as she knelt down. "Well, hello there. Here, take this, you
must be famished!" Smiling with the indulgence of a mother,
she seemed shrewdly assessing him for any sign of a bond.
Renaud le Gant
The plant man smiled and then blinked a little, feeling a tingle
in his head, followed by the sensation of feeling very hungry
and warm under the sun. A Bond was made. Renaud smiled
brighter at the beautiful Water Dragon, his Cyral, his little Water
Lord, his heart about to burst with happiness. "I am quite glad
to be stuck with you, my darling." He said softly as he reached
out, giving the Water a scratch under the chin carefully. The
little one gave a happy little rumble before splashing into the
bowl to cool off.
Zeph

So she knew his name already? That was very interesting, and
the comment made Zeph sit up straighter. Was she the one
whom he would bond with? Telling himself not to get his hopes
up just yet, Zeph held out another slab of meat, knowing that
the dragon was probably still hungry.

Feeling the small grainy prickles of the sand on her elbows the
angel lifted her face to look up at the brilliantly frilled creature
who sat before her with another wonderful smile, “Seeing as
you’ve never flown before I’m going to tell you right now
that to fly is to be free, it’s the most wonderful thing in
the world you can do.” She stated as a known fact. This
proved that she indeed had flown before though the blond child
had to put it in words as well, “Oh no, these wings aren’t
just pretty they’re useful. I fly as often as I possibly can,
which is a lot.” She noted.
All the while the young girl never took her blinking eyes off the
Savvy Water and the crystal clear orbs widened to the near
size of dinner plates as the youngling noted she’d never had fun
before. This was blaspheme! It was hard to grasp the fact that
one with such deep thoughts and knowing had just hatched a
short period before this very moment and so Evangeline didn’t
take said fact into account, “WHAT!?” The word was almost
choked on and yelled at the same time as she pushed herself up
quickly to stand before the Water. “You’ve never had fun!?”
She questioned.

Alice was readily devouring the strange fruit, hoping that there
wouldn’t be any adverse side effects but not so worried that she
wasn’t going to eat it and many other fruits when given the
chance. Though she wasn’t being completely reckless as she
watched the crowd, noticing that the dragon from earlier (the
one that had saved her, not any of the ones that were intent on
eating her) had actually followed her all the way here.
She wondered what exactly... she (well the voice she’d heard
from it before hinted towards this gender, anyway) wanted from
her. Did the dragon think she owed her because the dragon had
saved Alice? Pfft, fat chance, good luck on that one, dragon.
But no, instead of bribery and black mail she was met with...
patience? Alice didn’t take long to finish chewing and she would
have taken another bite if Alice wasn’t suddenly being attacked
in the non physical sense.
The feeling of the bond being made was alien and semi-intrusive
feeling, her whole stance going rigid. You had her attention,
dragon.
“What did you just do?” Alice asked, looking pale and shaken,
“What was that? How do you know my name? ... Course I’m not
happy with your kind. They wanted to eat me,”
Alice wasn’t complaining, just stating the reality of her
situation, “so if course I’m not happy Ralannath.” It was
strange... The name, it was strange. She’d never heard it before
but it felt like she’d known it her whole life. She also knew the
dragon here, before her. Like they were... connected.
Alice nodded, not about to argue with that; she was starving
and it was pretty obvious. She turned her back to the dragon,
almost expecting herself to feel paranoid. She was surprised to
find that she wasn’t and trusted this dragon (of which she held
little love for the species in general, at least at this moment in
time) with her life. It was... strange, to say the least. Was it
because of this bonding thing? She could practically feel
Ralannath in her mind. Connected to her; almost a part of her.
It was strange and alien and Alice was trying hard to wrap her
nutrient deprived head around it.
No, Alice, you are not my pet. And I am not yours. We are
bonded and so we are equals.
Alice nodded, happy to hear this confirmed out loud, though
now that this ... “bonded” thing had happened it seemed pretty
clear that this was a connection far above those she might have
had towards a pet, even a friend. Alice wasn’t sure she wanted
to go so far as to say the connection was stronger then what
she had with her parents but... It seemed that way. Or at least
the connection was more obvious in this situation and very, very
different from the relationship she had with her mum and dad.
“Oh man this is so weird. We don’t have anything like this where
I’m from.” Alice scratched her head, unsure of what she was
suppose to do now. At least she was oblivious to Ralannath’s
rank. She would probably be very flustered otherwise.
“Are you hungry, Ralannath? Cause uh... the meat table thing is
just over here, I think...” Alice said, looking around the barrel
to see... Some strange lizard-boy creature and a dragon up on
the table.
“Erm....”
I am fine for now, Alice. Don’t worry about me, right now
it is you who I am worried about.
