EWING - Gov. Chris Christie seems to be warming

up to the idea of being presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trumps running mate.
After announcing a business tax relief program at
the headquarters of the insurer New Jersey Manufacturers Wednesday, Christie noted that Trump is a very
persuasive guy, should he be asked to run with Trump
as vice president.
The comment came a day after Trump said he's narrowed his list of potential running mates to "five or six
people" and said he has not ruled out Christie.
Trump would not reveal the full list, but said his decision this week to appoint Christie to head his White
House transition team did not mean the New Jersey
governor was out of consideration.

Im very sensitive to the

JACKSON - Steps to discourage a Lakewood-based

neighborhood watch group from operating in this town
is strictly a public safety decision and doesnt reflect
any animus toward the group, according to the Jackson council president.
The Council passed a resolution Tuesday that prohibits the police department from associating with
any neighborhood watch group outside of Jackson.
Council President Rob Nixon said the action was largely a response to complaints over the Lakewood Civilian
Safety Watch, a nonprofit group registered with the Internal Revenue Service as Lakewood Shomrim Inc.
Shomrin is Hebrew for watchers.
Nixon said the action was driven by residents complaints that the group had conducted patrols in Jackson. He said hes personally seen the watch group direct traffic on Jackson roads and received reports that
the group arrives at first aid and fire scenes before
EMTs and firefighters.
He doesnt see their punctuality as a positive, even
though the group receives annual training from the
Lakewood Police Department.
This is not an anti-anybody move, Nixon said.
This is to establish a public safety policy in our town

impression that
everything we do in town
is anti-Semitic. I dont
want that to be the impression.

GLOUCESTER TWP. - Hillary Clinton took shots at

Donald Trump at Camden County College Wednesday
afternoon, even as she remains stuck in a battle against
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination.
And Sanders, who won Tuesdays West Virginia primary but still trails Clinton in the delegate count, was
on the mind of some of the people who came to see Clinton as she campaigned ahead of New Jerseys June 7
primary.
Hanny Ramadan, a 17-year-old Sanders supporter
