Glossary of Key Terms

Erasmus plus

Erasmus+ is the new programme replacing Lifelong Learning

and Youth Programmes, implemented by the European
Union in the fields of education and youth between 2007 and
2013.

E-twinning

E-twinning is a community for schools in Europe. It provides a

platform for people working at participant schools (teachers,
managers, librarians etc.) in Europe to communicate,
collaborate, develop projects and exchange ideas, in short,
to feel and be a part of the most exciting learning platform
across Europe.

Chapter 1. Please briefly present

your organisation
First of all, to give preliminary information on applicant organisation, it is advised to open the
official websites of the relevant organisations.
In this section you can use the information found in History and /or About Us part that you
will see after accessing the schools website. In addition to that, some more information such
as fields and branches the school offers, the number of students and teachers, curriculum etc.
can be included in this section.

Chapter 2. What are the activities

and experience of your organisation
in the areas relevant for this
application?
This is the section that should include the information obtained from Our Projects part of
the relevant schools official website. If the given projects and achievements are relevant to
the new projects topic (e.g. if the new project involves nursing care students and the project
carried out in previous years is also about nursing care students, this should be emphasized.)
detailed information should be given (the name of the project, in what year it was implemented,
how many people benefited from it, the skills and competencies acquired etc.).
If not, general information should be given. Even if the website does not provide information
on previous projects, it should be searched online because not all of the schools provide such
information on their websites. Detailed information is obtained if the search is done by writing
X School European Union Project or X School Erasmus Plus Project. The experiences the
school gained through the given project should also be mentioned in this section where a brief
summary will be written in the light of information obtained.
In addition to these, if the school does not have any previous experience in projects, it should
be mentioned that the school has no experience and wants to develop itself in the relevant
field by getting involved in the project. The importance of this development for the organization
and its enthusiasm for involvement should also be stated.

Chapter 3. Please give information

on the key staff/persons involved
in this application and on the
competences and previous
experience that they will bring to the
project
In this section it is important to indicate the knowledge and competencies acquired by the
schools that implemented projects in previous project proposal periods. For example, it can
be written that school staff had experience in writing, implementing and finalizing European
Union projects; had an opportunity to introduce their school in the international area; prepared
the ground for new projects by developing bilateral dialogues; increased the organizational
capacity and so forth. Some other examples include the experience and achievements gained
in both individual and professional terms, providing training in multi cultural environments and
improving foreign language. Reasonably, persons who gain these experiences can undertake
management of the project without any problems and can help dissemination of information
by sharing their experience and competencies with the rest of the school staff if a project
proposed in a new call for proposal period is found worth supporting. All of these will directly
or indirectly help to accomplish a project successfully and reach its objectives. In summary,
this development process is among the contributions of the key staff to the project.
In addition to these, if the school does not have any previous experience in projects, it should
be mentioned that the school has no experience and wants to develop itself in the relevant
field by getting involved in the project.
Even if teachers and managers have not been involved in a project before, it can be stated
that they have developed themselves in the field through in service trainings, conferences
or seminars and will influence the process positively with the help of E-twinning, Erasmus
Plus introductory meetings and trainings received or will be received about European Union
Proposal Writing.

Chapter 4. Have you applied for/

received a grant from any European
Union programme in the 12 months
preceding this application?
If the applicant organization applied for or received a grant in the last 12 months, choose Yes.
If not, choose No.
