experience while theyre on
campus, to plans we might
have for different services
in the future, says Lynn
Christian, division director,
acute nursing care. We really just want to hear from
them about what their
needs, desires and preferences are.
Christian says it might
be input about a remodeling
project at the hospital or
care center. It could be
about a new service that
isnt already being offered.
Or it could be feedback
about a process already in
place.

For example, we do
hourly rounding where a
nurse or staff member
comes in and checks on you
each hour if youre admitted to the hospital, she
says. Was that useful to
them? What did they like or
not like? Was it enough or
too much? Maybe they
have a better idea about
how we can do that.
And things like scheduling, says
Corrine
LaBaw, director of quality,
regulatory and accreditation. We think things are
working on our end. But
theres always things you
dont think about. To me,

thats a good place to get

feedback. Or the parking lot
and signs in the corridors.
LaBaw handles medical staff credentialling,
functions, committees and
preparedness for the campus. She says they are hoping to get five or six people
on the advisory group to
start and grow from there.
We have three applicants and were going to
start interviewing them,
she says. Were hoping to
get a few more to get the
group going.
Christian says applicants dont necessarily have
to be former patients.

The Becker Bulldog boys

baseball team went 3-2 in five
games this week.
Becker 5, Little Falls 1
Becker traveled to Little
Falls Thursday to play the Flyers in the second game in three
days with a lot better result.
Kendal Hanson pitched
an outstanding game, going
the distance, giving up five
hits, three walks, six strikeouts and one run.
The Bulldogs defense
was perfect, making all the
plays and no errors.
Becker scored four runs
in the second inning when
Matt Yoerg led off by reaching
base on an error. Zach Halvorson worked the pitcher for a
walk. Clayton Gallus got a hit
to score Yoerg and moved
Halvorson to third. Gallus
stole second base and Andrew
Stanger delivered a hit, scoring
both Halvorson and Gallus.
Cody Gruenhagen followed
with a walk and a hit by Casey
Vesledahl scored Stanger.
The Bulldogs added an
insurance run in the fifth inning on a Gruenhagen solo
home run to right field to make
it 5-0.
Little Falls managed to
plate a lone run in the sixth inning, but that was all she
wrote.
This was a big win for
the Bulldogs as we have not
beaten Little Falls in a every
long time, said Head Coach
Chuck Stanger. And in the
polls they where rated second
in the state and this win ties us
for the conference title.
Little Falls 6, Becker 3
Little falls came to
Becker Tuesday and left town
with a three-run win.
Vesledahl started on the
mound and went five innings.
John Mann came on in the
sixth and allowed one run.
Both pitchers threw very
good, we just had a few mistakes in the field allowing Little Falls to score four runs in
the fourth inning, said Coach
Stanger.

CODY GRUENHAGEN continues to mash the ball as he helped lead the Bulldogs
baseball team to three wins this week. (Photo by Bill Morgan)

Both teams managed just

five hits.
The leading hitter for
Becker was Stanger, going 2for-3 and scoring one run.
Saturday, the Bulldogs
traveled to Alexandria for two
games.
Moorhead 3, Becker 2
The first game was
against Moorhead and was a
very good game to watch as
both teams had good pitching
an outstanding defense.
Moorhead scored one run
in the fourth and two in the
fifth to go up 3-0.
A walk to Gallus, a walk
to Stanger and a hit by
Vesledahl scored Gallus for
Beckers first run. The Bulldogs scored a lone run in the
fifth, but that was all they
could muster.
Becker 12, Alexandria 8
In the second game of the
weekend, the Bulldogs came
back from a three-run deficit,
scoring nine runs in the top of
the seventh inning to beat
Alexandria by four.
Gruenhagen
was
Beckers starting pitcher and
he went five innings, giving
way to Zack Fisher, who threw
the last two innings to win his
first varsity game.
Becker scored first in the
top of the third on a double by
Gruenhagen and a hit by
Vesledahl.

The Becker girls softball

team had a very busy week,
playing seven games over the
span.
Thursday, they hosted
Little Falls in a doubleheader.
Becker 16, Little Falls 0
In game one, the Bulldogs scored early and often to
defeat the Flyers 16-0 in five
innings.
Payton Williams hit a
home run leading off the bottom of the first and Brianna
Corey added a three-run
dinger in the third.
Seven Bulldog hitters had
multiple hits in the game.
Corrie Weise got the win
on the mound, pitching all five
innings and striking out six
while allowing two hits and
walking three.
Becker 11, Little Falls 0
Game two had a similar
result as Becker continued to
hit the ball all over to take an
easy win in five innings.

Becker wasnt able to come up

with the big hit they needed
and the game went to the bottom of the ninth.
With two outs and a runner on base, the Magic catcher
was able to hit her second
home run of the game and it
was a walk-off 3-1 win for the
Magic.
Six different Bulldog hitters had one hit in the game.
Corey was the hard luck loser
on the mound, going all nine
innings and allowing eight hits
and two walks while striking
out three.

Becker played Monticello

last Friday and came away
with a nice six-run win.
Stanger started and went
the distance, giving up just
three hits, walking six while
the defense committed four errors.
Becker did, however,
overcome the miscues and
walks by belting out 13 hits.
The Bulldogs scored two
runs in the first and broke the
game open in a five-run fourth
inning. Mann and Rolf walked
and Stanger belted a home run
over the left field fence to go
up 5-0. Gruenhagen followed
with a triple and scored on a
double by Vesledahl, who also
scored on a hit by Rasmussen
to go up 7-0.
Becker scored two more
in the fifth and two more insurance runs in the seventh.
Gruenhagen had quite a
day, going 3-for-4 with a triple
and two doubles. Stanger was
