SUPPORT AND BRACKET INSTALLATION

Approved type C or H type supports shall be installed first. The fixing

method of C or H strut supports could change with respect to the places
such as fixing strut support to concrete with an anchor or fixing strut
support on steel structure with field welding or clamp connection. The
methods in previous statement are to be applied in our project according
to approved drawings, numbered as CA-517334-Sxxx, CA-517336 and
CA-517337-Sxxx.
Note : The point where to be welded should be free from dust and
galvanize.

The distance between supports should not exceed the minimum interval and the
approved drawings shall be followed.

Brackets shall be installed with help of a guide rope or spirit level to fix the level o
f
the bracket permanently all through the way where the cable raceway runs in
horizontal direction.

Then ensure the nut, washer, bolt and other necessary materials are fixed properly.

CABLE TRAY INSTALLATION

After ensuring the brackets are aligned through the raceway and leveled at the
required elevation, cable tray or ladder installation could commence.
Cable trays shall be placed onto the brackets and fix onto brackets with nut, bolt an
d

washer through their own holes.

The head of two separate tray or ladder to connect to each other shall be attached
with

steel connection plate to ensure the sustainability of raceway.

Eventually it is necessary to cut into required dimension the cable trays and ladder
s. The method is demonstrated at below pictures fur cutting of trays and ladders.
Note : All works shall be get done by qualified personnel only at site.

It is not necessary to start at one end of the run. It is ideal to lay out the system a
t

connection point of two trays so that splice joints fall between th

e supports. This

maximizes the rigidity of the cable tray.

The cable tray should be anchored at the support nearest to its midpoint betwee
n

the expansion splice plates and secured by expansion guides at all other supp

locations. The cable tray should be permitted longitudinal

movement in both directions

from that fixed point.

For immediate width changes, it is possible to use offset reducing splice plates.

Vertical supports, elbows, concave elbows, convex elbows, cross connections, le

and right reductions, tee and other auxiliary accessories should be insta

lled in

accordance with approved drawings previously mentioned.

CABLE TRAY GROUNDING

Cable trays should be grounded via isolated or bare jumper cable from piece to
piece. Meanwhile trays should be connected to main grounding grid from 20 met
ers

maximum unless otherwise specified in Grounding Specifications.

Earthing conductor shall be laid over one tray (top one is recommended) along th
e

cable trench and other trays will be grounded via jumpers which s

hall be connected

by cable lugs.

Covers are typically added to a cable tray system when addition cable protection i
s

required (outdoor and open area). In accordance with approved dr

awings cover shall be

installed carefully to avoid any fall on cables.

FINISHING WORKS
Marking of cable trays shall be done with permanent markers to provide a cable
pulling route.
Cable trays shall be inspected by witnesses of responsible engineers.

WELDING MATERIAL (IF NECESSARY)

Consumable materials such as electrodes, argon/propan and etc
Hand tools such as grinder, welding machine, steel brush, hammer and etc
The materials for safety purposes such as helmet, welder mask, welding glass
(if required), body protection clothe, welding gloves, blanket, fire extinguishe
r and etc.

10 WELDING MATERIAL STORAGE AND HANDLING

All welding consumables will be stored in a dry location and will be kept in their
original and unopened packages until their use. Electrodes will be kept within hea
ted
