The environment of all premises in the plant must meet certain conditions.

For this
reason, ventilation or air conditioning systems should be provided.
The ventilation, with or without air conditioning should ensure positive pressure and
to avoid any uncontrolled air intake into these rooms.
In simple syrup room, final syrup room, water treatment, filling rooms, etc. ventilation
is required for removing odor, debris, dust and for controlling humidity since it favors
the growth of microorganism and contamination.
All air supply units, air handling units etc. to be equipped with pre-filter and air filter
for final filtration. See table A.
Air supply units to contain pre-heating or/and pre-cooling coils, when required.

Air ducts can be made of galvanized sheet metal or of aluminium.

Air ducts shall have access doors for interior cleaning.
Air ducts taking air from outside, shall be equipped with dampers and insect
screen.
Keep adequate distance between air intakes and air exhaust ducts on exterior
louvers in order to avoid air re-circulation.
The table below shows the ventilation requirements for premises in the plant.

A.8.2. Specific Ventilation Schemes

A.8.2.1. Ventilation in Filling/Syrup/WT/CIP Rooms
In these areas, ventilation must be provided:
Always maintain positive air pressure.
Air re-circulation is not recommended.
The airflow in a ventilation system in a plant should follow the direction
from filling area to packaging area and to warehouse.
In the warehouse, roof or/and wall ventilators could be installed.

FILLING ROOM VENTILATION

Air supply to the filling room through ceiling diffusers

The supplied air is transferred to the packaging area through partition openings of
conveyors and through wall grilles located approximately 50 cm above floor level,
when its required
Never run horizontal air ducts inside the filling and syrup rooms.
Insulate ducts in air conditioning systems in order to prevent condensation and
dripping.
All air supply openings into the premises to be equipped with diffusers with air
directional blades and adjustable dampers.
All air return openings to be equipped with air grilles.
Wall louvers taking directly from outside, to be either motorized or operated by
gravity. Also, to carry insect screen.
Units always to be mounted on vibration isolators.
Flexible connections must exist between air handling units and air ducts.

Ventilation during C.I.P. process and CO2 leakage

SYRUP ROOM VENTILATION

WATER TREATMENT VENTILATION

C.I.P. ROOM VENTILATION

A.8.2.2. Ventilation in PET Bottles Product

In PET Bottles Blowing area (e.g. Sidel) exhaust hoods must be installed
over the machines in accordance to the requirements of the manufacturer.

We can utilize the exhausted hot air from the unit by installing an Air-toAir heat exchanger (economizer) for room heating purposes.
