because I can use it in different places: at home
and at college for example.

Im learning English because it is part of my
course and because I need it for my future
career. I hope to work in the oil industry after
the course. I have eight hours of English lessons
per week. We learn listening, speaking, reading
and writing skills. We also study grammar
and vocabulary. I dont study English in my
own time, but I sometimes watch English TV
channels. My biggest problem with English is
my slow reading speed. I can try to solve this by
reading more often.

Model answer
The design process has several stages.
First someone notices a problem or need.
So a design brief is written for a new product.
Then the designer investigates and
researches things like materials and costs.
After that, he or she develops alternative
solutions and draws sketches. Then, the
best solution is chosen. The next stage is
realization. A detailed drawing is made and
then a prototype or a computer simulation
is produced. Then the prototype is tested
and evaluated. Finally, the company decides
whether to manufacture the new product.

Model answer
Sports equipment is often made from nylon
because nylon is very strong but not hard,
heavy or expensive. It is also tough, wearresistant and elastic, so it is used for making
sports clothing, such as cycling shorts, for
example. It is stronger than steel, flexible and
light, so it is good for fishing lines, ropes and
tennis racket strings. Nylon is also used for
sports bags and camping equipment, like tents,
because it is tough, durable, easy to carry and
cheap.

handle. Inside, there are gears, a spring and
a small generator. As you turn the handle,
you wind up the spring. This takes about one
minute. When the spring unwinds, the step-up
gears engage. The generator turns very fast and
generates electricity. You get about 30 minutes
of light before you have to turn the handle
again. The light is small and weather-resistant
and has many uses.

The Rotundus robot is expensive to buy but
cheap to run. It does not require payment or
holidays. However, it cannot think. Although
it cannot take action against suspects, fires
etc, it can see in the dark and send for help. It
moves very quietly but it cannot climb stairs or
ladders.
Although human security officers are more
effective in some cases, I recommend you try
the Rotundus robot because it is less expensive
than human security officers. Its abilities to
see in the dark and move quietly are important
advantages too.

chocolate liquor. Next, some of the chocolate
liquor is separated into cocoa butter and cocoa
solids. The rest of the liquor is mixed with
sugar, milk and some extra cocoa butter. This
mixture is heated and stirred for a few days
to improve softness. After that, the warm
mixture is poured into moulds to make bars
of chocolate, and then the bars are cooled
until they set. Finally, the chocolate bars are
wrapped and packed.
