Good morning fellow delegates and Honorable chair. In representation of Hasn Rouhan
president of the Islamic republic of Iran, as well as the citizens of the nation, the delegation
of the Islamic Republic of Iran is very pleased to be part of this important committee, in
which the topic to discuss is the Intellectual property on the internet and public domain.
Irans emerging activities in relation to the public domain are based on recommendations of
the member states. Therefore, it is important to WIPO to address I because this problem
affects many nations. Irans government has found the that the nation has been affected the
las year because of black market and the restriction of social media.
This problem is a very big issue in Iran because of black marketing. Trying to solve the
problem, Iran has contacted the US in a call of help for strategies and opinions about this
problem. This delegation has also agreed with many of the conventions that it had with
USA and has agreed with some of them. Unfortunately, Irans government hasnt talked
about it in public so its citizens dont know too much about the issue. As the government of
this delegation is reserved, it causes problems of misunderstanding. One of the major
problems that the Republic of Iran has is the black market on the internet and in the cities.
Despite having the world's third-largest proven crude-oil reserves, Iran is forced to import
around one-third of its gasoline requirements, at a cost of billions of dollars a year, because
it has insufficient refining capacity.

Iran already buys some gasoline on the black market from a web of small firms that have
no U.S. business ties. This problem has caused that sanctions costing millions of dollars
affect the already poor economy of this country, causing the citizens to buy even more
products that are unlegislated by this causing even more problems that this delegation
already has. Unfortunately, UN has not touched the problem because it is a governmental
problem.
The republic of Iran recommends that to all nations in WIPO organization to support each
other in recognizing the defects for these problems and to have a peaceful solution. By
reducing its consume of black market oil for its economy to raise. Finally a very good
resolution for this problem is have a large talk with the officials of this delegates nation to
become to an agreement for it to also have a peaceful resolution.
The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran thanks the committee members for their
attention and hopes to be part of a viable agreement that most, if not all nations can agree
on.
