EgocentrismorEcocentrism?
AnovertureisdevelopedtothelayerscomposingtheinhabitantsoftheEarth.Allliving
thingsarecomposedoflayerstheEarthcrust,mantle,coreanappleouterconsumablelayer,
coremammalsskin,organs,cellscellscellmembrane,golgiapparatus,nucleolus.Ifthere
arecompositionsoflivingmattersurroundinguseverywherewego,whydohumanscontribute
tosomethingthatseemsassmallaslitteringtheland?Itsasimplestateofmindthatdelegatesa
rightofobliviontowardselfrighteousactions,andanallowancetothinkegotistically.Humans
aretheleadingcauseofglobalwarming,whichstartedasatheory,butprovedtrue,deriving
fromscientificstudies,resultingineffortsregardinganimalagriculture,climatechange,and
extinction.
Incontrast,peoplewhosupportthegeneralizationthatglobalwarmingdoesnotexistand
onlyoccursbecauseofthenaturalimplicationsoftheworldarenotenvironmentalists.For

statespeopleunderminethenatureofglobalwarminganddisconcernsourcesoffactualevidence

notrefertotheiractionsontheenvironment,likeaneverydaylifestylefeaturingdiet,doesnot
automaticallyrefrainthemfrombeinganinducerofglobalwarming.Inparticular,transitioning
toadiettowardlessanimalproductconsumptioncouldpotentiallysaveliveswhileminimizing
theeffectsofgreenhousegasemissions(Mooney).Additionally,thetransitiontoavegetarianism
andveganismdiethasassumed5.1millionfewerdeathsaroundtheworldby2050bynotonly
removingmeatfromthedigestivesystem,butthegreenhousegasemissionsremovedfromfood
sectorsinmeatmanufacturingwouldonlyhaveanincreaseofsevenpercentby2050whereas
withnoalternatemethod,therewouldbea51%increase(Mooney).Animalmanureshavebeen
amisconceptionofafertilizerformanysourcesoffood,butanalternativetousingananimals
wasteforthefoodpeopleconsume,alternativesincludelegumes,freelivingbacteria,composted
plants,andpondmudexterminatingtheconsumptionofanimalproducts(Badgley).Furthermore
CatherineBadgleypresumestheargument,Theglobalfoodsystemisattherootofmany
environmentalandhealthcrises.

consumingmeathasalargerimpactonenvironmentalhabitsandisbeneficialtonotonlyhuman
health,butthehealthofourplanet.
Moreover,climatechangeisanadditionalsourceofhumansimpactingthehealthofthe
planet.Thegreenhousegasemissionsareincreasingatanalarmingscalebypeoplewhoare
consumersandcontributorstoeffectsthatdeterioratetheozonelayer.Duringthepresidencyof
PresidentLyndonJohnson,hewarned,Eitherwestoppoisoningourairorwebecomeanation
[in]gasmasksgropingourwaythroughdyingcities(Easterbrook).PresidentJohnsonhad
pursuedanenvironmentalistefforttoinformthecountryofthewastesthatwerebeingproduced,
whichareextremelydetrimentaltoourownhealth.PresidentGeorgeH.W.Bushhadissued
thatacidrainwassaidtothreatenanewsilentspringofdeadAppalachianforests
(Easterbrook).Itwasanationwideattempttofluctuatethecarbonreleasesintotheatmosphere
andtheotherchemicalharmshumanswerepursuingwhenclearingforestsforranching,the
carbongetstrappedwithnowheretoescapebesidestheatmosphere(Mooney).Significantly,an
additionalacthasbeenexecutedbyChinawithaforestconservationprogramthatbeganin1998
anditprolongedthelifeoftheirforests,ceasingitsexterminationforfactories

Conclusively,endangeredspeciesarereceivingtheimpactfromtheactionshumansare
deigninguponglobalwarming.Inparticular,thepoliticiansarentmakingeffortstoenforcethe
lawstheyinsinuateinordertoprotecttheplanet.

Mostpeopleareunawarethatfoodproductionandagriculturecontributetoanestimated25per

willbenonatureleft,nooxygentobreathe.Aspreviouspresidentshavestated,achangeneeds
tobemadeorwewillbetheonestosufferfromourowndamages.Environmentalchangesarea
gradualchange,butsmallremembrancestotakeshortershowers,conserveenergy,and
awarenessofgasusageisalargecontributortolessenanecologicalfootprint.Largermeasures
ofdietcouldchange,andhelptheanimals,habitats,andhealthofhumans.Thenextecologically
improvedstepcouldleadintotheconservationofaforestbyasimpleactofnotcontributingto
theallocationsthatcompaniesproceedforprofit.
