Manufacturing Plant in COPA

Hi All,
Need your all kind help in getting the manufacturing plant in COPA.
Not able to get through as there is no standard filed of manufacturing plant is getting updated at the
time of billing.

Its possible, but bit difficult
1. When you sell from Depot- How are you gonna identify the Mfg Plant at which the product has been
manufactured??. You need to have batch no in place where 1st Alphabet denotes a specific Plant
If this is designed, then read the Batch No in COPA using note 70231.. Write these derivation rules
a. Using Enhancement method and code Exit COPA0001 or COPA0005 to populate batch no in a
WWXXX char in COPA
b. Using Enhancement or MOVE method to populate 1st Alphabet from batch no in a WWXXX Char
c. Create another WWXXX Char for Mfg. Plant
d. Using Asignment method, to derive Mfg WERKS (Plant) Based on b

Thanks your replay. We do not have batch No in place. Instead of batch No, bar code is in place.

That is complete Z development. Below is process of manufacturing plant getting updated in barcode
table.
1) In barcode table against product manufacturing plant gets updated the moment finished gets
manufactured.
2) When finished goods transferred from manufacturing plant to selling plant, instead of manufacturing
plant selling plant will updated, but barcode will remain same.
3) When finished goods finally sold to customer, customer will updated in bar code table but bar code
will remain same.
I mean to say that after each movement of finished goods one separate line will be created in bar code
table but bar code no will remain same. Last four digit of bar code no will be manufacturing plant.
Kindly advise how can i bring manufacturing plant in COPA now.

You will have to retain the Mfg Plant in your Bar Code Table and then derive the same in COPA using
Exit COPA0005
Thats the only choice

Through this exit i need to fill that Z field.

Its upto you
You can create a WWXXX for Mfg Plant or fill the Standard Char WERKS with Mfg Plant
It depends on what you want
If you want both Mfg and Sales Plant, create WWXXX for Mfg Plant
if you want only Mfg Plant, use WERKS and fill it with Mfg Plant

Last question do i need to write derivation rule from Transaction code - KEDR to manufacturing plant.

Yes
If you choose to write exit COPA0001, you need a KEDR with "Enhancement" option
In Source, you can have ARTNR and Target you can specify WERKS
If you choose to use COPA0005, you dont need KEDR Step
