by members in the community
The questionnaires were given to 10 males and 30 females. The respondents were of age
13-45 years.

Figure 1 showed a table of the level of violence in the community and number of
respondents.Three (3) females and two (2) males chose the option of it being very high, seven (7)
females and two (2) males chose high, two (2) females and three (3) males for moderate, while,
ten (10) females and one (1) male chose low, while six (6) females chose and two (2) males
chose the option of the level being very low. Level of violence was the highest for female which
was ten and it was the lowest for male which was one
Figure 2 showed a pie a chart of the main causes of violence in the community. Thirty
percent (30%) of the people chose the cause of illiteracy. Twenty percent (20%) of the
respondents chose political tribalism, while the ineffective justice systems and problem in the
family are both twenty-five percent (25%). Shows illiteracy was the highest cause of violence in
the community.
Figure 3 was a bar graph which showed the form of violence behavior that takes place in
the community. Sixteen (16) females and two (2) males chose extortion, four (4) females and two
(2) males selected assault, six (6) females and two (2) males chose vandalism, along with predial
larceny. Extortion was the highest for violent behavior in the community which was 16 for
females and 2 for males.

loss of investment opportunity resulted with (10%) ten percent from the respondents, increase
fear was fourth teen percent(14%) while to promote formation of gangs was twenty percent
(20%) , the increase brain drain was (30%) thirty percent, while increase pressure on health
facilities and increase pressure on police services were both (13%) thirteen.
Figure 5 showed a column of ways in which the community can reduce violence. Three (3)
females and two (2) males chose the option of forming a community watch. Frequent meetings
about violence was chosen by four (4) females and one (1) male, to check out strangers
thoroughly were chosen by six (6) females and one (1) male. two (2) females and one (1) male
chose investing all community members of group activities, increase employment were chosen
by nine (9) females and two (2) males. Increase educational and training facilities were chosen
by two (2) females and two (2) males, whilepromote business investment are four (4) females
and one (1) male. The highest effect that affect violence in the community was 30% which was
brain drain.
Statement of Findings
1. The main cause of violence in the community was illiteracy.
2. The main impact of violence in the community was increase brain drain.
3. Residents believed that the most effective way to reduce violence was involving all
community members of group activity.
Implementation Strategy
Residents of the community could implement Community watch program . A person or group of
people committed to starting a neighborhood watch. This involves meetings to see whose
interested in joining .This is a vital meeting in that is where everyone learns what is involved and
expected of participants so now here is how you would start a neighborhood watch. First you
will have to contact your local police, at the first meeting get as much information as possible as
is harder to get the information later, nominate a captain and co-captain, hand out a form for the
residents to submit information for the community watch program. Now after all that has been
done its up to the residents to keep information up to date and work with their neighbors on
community or socials. There are many benefits to a neighborhood watch program. Start the
dialogue with your neighbors and see if you can start one in the community .It is a great way to
build your community cut down on Violence and rethink what a neighborhood is all about
