Evektor EV97 Eurostar Project EV97 ReadMe

Thank you for downloading our Evektor EV97 Eurostar for FS2004/FSX! This is our first
release of the model, with further development planned to be released as updates or new
packages.
This release contains the brand new model, with a custom 2D-panel, fully working VC,
custom gauges, real-life recorded sounds and true-to-life flying capabilities. Panel and VC
comes in 2 versions, the true OH-U507 panel and also a Basic-T panel.
We hope that you will enjoy flying the Eurostar in Microsoft Flight Simulator! The model is
developed for FS2004, but also works in FSX SP1 (not tested with SP2/Acceleration), which
will give you a perhaps slightly more realistic impression of the aircraft.

About the aircraft

From the Evektor website: "The Eurostar is aerodynamically controlled, single-engine, two-

seat, low-wing, all metal plane with a fixed tricycle undercarriage and controllable nose
wheel".
The Eurostar has become one of the most popular ultralight aircrafts in Europe, thanks to
its rugged, durable construction, a roomy cockpit, its excellent pilot & passenger view, and
great flying capabilities. Loop Magazine compared it to driving a sportscar, with precise,
rapid flight controls. The Eurostar is also available as an LSA aircraft in the U.S, under the
name Sportstar. The Sportstar has a slightly wider body & longer wingspan, but is
otherwise similar to the Eurostar.
The engine is the well known Rotax 912, available in 80 hp (912 UL) or 100 hp (912 ULS).
Since the Eurostar is available as both factory built or kit, there are a lot of variations in the
panel layout and instrumentation. We have built this model after OH-U507, a club-owned
aircraft in Finland. A version of the model with a Basic-T panel layout is also included.

Installation
FS2004: Extract the contents of this zip archive to your root FS2004 folder. All files will be
placed in the correct sub-folders - make sure that the "use folder names" box is ticked in
WinZip! Startup your FS and choose the Eurostar, and enjoy!
FSX: Extract the contents of this zip to a temporary location on your hard drive. Manually
copy the folder EV97 (in Aircraft/EV97) to [your FSX-root]/Simobjects/Airplanes/
NOTE: Replace the aircraft.cfg-file with the one named FSX_aircraft.cfg, included in this
package.
Copy the rest of the included folders (Gauges, Effects, Sound) to the FSX root directory. No
default files will be overwritten. The file dsd_xml_sound3.gau must be approved the first
time you choose the Eurostar in FSX.
Using metric instruments: If you prefer instrument displaying KPH and MPS (instead of
KTS and FPM, which is default), you can change the instrument selection in each panel.cfg.
Just remove the // before the gaugeXX=EV97_panel Make sure that you add the // to the
instrument that you do not wish to use. The example below will display the airspeed (ASI),
indicating speed in kilometers per hour (KPH).
//gauge01=EV97_panel!asi_kts,
gauge01=EV97_panel!asi_kph,

Thanks
All the forum members who have contributed with intellectual input, mainly in the forums
at FSDeveloper.com and FreeFlight Design Studios.
Hans would like to thank Oskari, without whom this project would not have been possible,
Erik Bjrnwall for the feedback, Frank Rambris for all the pictures & numbers, and Ulrich
Pavel at Evektor for the most valuable support imaginable! And everyone else no one
mentioned, no one forgotten - who have helped along the way.
Oskari would like to thank Hans who made an incredible 3D modelling job on the model
and virtual cockpit, Kari Virtanen who helped with the gauge programming, editing and
airfile, Ari Syynimaa for photographing and sound recording, Timo Nummela who gave the
real airplane documents, and ofcourse everyone else who have helped with the project.
