6.5 SR2 INSULATED STANDING SEAM ROOF PANEL
PANEL PROFILE
SR2 is an insulated standing seam roof panel. The polyisocyanurate core is
sandwiched between two 26ga sheets.
The panels are available with a AZ50 galvalume coating covered by a PVDF finish.
Panel exteriors will be available in the following colors: Pearl Gray, Warm White,
Cypress Green, Royal Blue, Regal White, Surrey Beige and Imperial White (for use
only when field applied coatings are specified). Panel interiors will be Imperial White.

Maximum panel length is 56-0. Panels up to 62 are available with special permitting.
Minimum panel length is 8-0. Maximum length is also color dependant. Darker colors
will result in shorter panel lengths.
(Maximum and minimum dimensions do not apply to cold storage and freezer
buildings.)
The R-values are as follows:
3 = 26
4 = 32
5 = 41
6 = 49
The R-values have been tested in accordance with ASTM C 518 steady state thermal
transmission test method.

SR2 LOAD SPAN DATA

Spans shown are based on deflection and connection strength derived from
ASTM E-72 testing. Thermal effect due to temperature differentials has not been
considered. Consult AWIP for project requirements.
Connection patter assumes one -14 self tapping fastener at each rib and at
each minimum 16ga support.
Allowable deflection is L/240.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Proper installation and maintenance are extremely important to obtain the best
performance and appearance from the insulated panel. Dirt, oil grease, fingerprints or
any other kind of containment must be completely removed when the installation is
finish to maximize coatings performance.
The building will require periodic maintenance according to conditions at the site: U. V.,
dirt, smoke, corrosive atmosphere, etc. If further assistance is required, please consult
the technical department of AWIP.
To remove oxidation and tough stains, it is recommended to use a household cleaner
recommended for use of porcelain sinks and bath tubs. This should be followed with a
thorough rinsing. Wire brushing or any abrasive material may damage the painted
surface and should not be used.
If ''touch up" paint is required, contact AWIP to obtain and air-dry urethane color match
for your project.
CLEANING THE PAINTED SURFACE
Dirt pickup may cause apparent discoloration of the paint when it has been exposed to
dirt-laden atmospheres for long periods of time. Slight chalking may cause some
change in appearance in areas of strong sunlight. A good cleaning will often restore
the appearance of these buildings. In many cases simply washing the building with
plain water using pressure sprays will be adequate. In areas of heavy dirt deposits, a
solution of water and detergent may be used. Use a rag or sponge, to clean. A clear
water rinse should follow.
EXPOSURE TO HEAT OR FLAME
Although AWIP urethane core panels are acceptable for use in noncombustible
building assemblies in accordance with IBC and have been exhaustively tested for fire
resistivity based on their end use, they are not non-combustible in and of themselves.
They are not "fire rated" per ASTM E 119. Therefore, they shall not be exposed to
extreme high temperatures or direct flame at any time. In simple terms, don't use a
welding torch on or near insulated panels any more than you would on a wood building
assembly. Refer to Panel Test Data information under "Fire" for detailed information on
ignition, heat of combustion and surface burning.

FIELD FABRICATED METAL PEAK BOX

The customer has the option of purchasing the metal peak boxes or field fabricating a metal
peak box out of a piece of standard rake trim.
The standard metal peak boxes work up through 6:12 roof slope, and only available in white.
The standard CAD detail for the field fabricated metal peak box shows a lot more information
on how to fabricate this.
The metal peak box, as shown in the detail, allows the rake trim to slide as it is designed to.
Field mitering the rake trim together at the peak with sliding clips is not recommended.
It takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes to field fabricate one of these metal beak boxes.
