Active directory guideline for exchange 2013

For security and performance reasons, we
recommend that you install Exchange 2013 only
on member servers and not on Active Directory
directory servers.
Directory server requirements for Exchange 2013

-Schema master
By default, the schema master runs on the first
Active Directory domain controller installed in a
forest. The schema master must be running one of
the following:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or
Datacenter1
Windows Server 2012 Standard or
Datacenter
Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard or
Enterprise
Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter

The engagement includes the following:
Exchange 2013 Overview Session. The
purpose of this session is to brief the
customer on Exchange 2013 features.
Record any key business value features
that are required from the
engagement.
Problem Statement Development. This
section reviews the findings of the preengagement questionnaire. A
facilitated group discussion results in
identifying a business problem
statement that will become the focus of
the remaining time.
Solution Statement Development. Based
on the problem statement, the solution
statement provides a high level
description of the Exchange 2013
features that could be used to solve the
customers problem(s) as identified in
the problem statement.

3. Install Exchange 2013

the blade server (which is our
exchange server) on VM
environment, install SP1 and
activate windows
Download the exchange executable
file and key from the Microsoft
website.
Memory upgrade for the blade
server from 8GB to 40 GB.
Install exchange server 2013 mail
box and client access roles.
Verify the domain controller for
compliance to the exchange server
and edge server.
