Advanced shine text effect

Read this thoroughly explained, detailed flash lesson and see how to create advanced shine text effect using some special flash tips and tricks. You don't have to use
action script code to make this lesson. You can use this text effect for any presentation, text banner or for some animation. Using this lesson, you will also learn how to
convert any text into a movie clip symbol, how to apply flash filters on it, how to create mask layer, how to create shine effect and much much more. Let's start!

Example:

Step 1

Create a new flash document. Press Ctrl+J key on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 300 pixels and the height to 200 pixels.
Select #A30000 color as background color. Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 40 and click ok.

Step 2

Select the Text Tool (A) and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, make the adjustments as follow:

After that, type some text on the stage.

Step 3

While the text is still selected, hit F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert it into a movie clip symbol.

Step 4

Select the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the text to select it. Then, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. After that, select Filters tab from the left
side. Click on the plus icon and select the Glow filter. Make the adjustments as follows:

Click now on frame 85 and 95 and hit F6 key.

Step 6

While you're still on frame 95, select the Selection Tool (V) and again once on the text to select it. Then, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the
right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%.

Step 7

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 85 and 95 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 8

Call the current layer text. Double-click on its default name (Layer 1) to change it. Press Enter once you have typed in the new name!

Step 9

Create a new layer above the layer text and name it mask.

Step 10

Select the first frame of layer mask and draw a shape and place it on the position like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 11

Click now on frame 15 and hit F6 key.

Step 12

While you're still on frame 15, place the shape on the position like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 13

Select now frame 16 and hit F7 key.

Step 14

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 10 and 15 on the timeline and choose Create Shape Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 15

Create a new layer above the layer mask and name it shine shape.
Step 16

Click on frame 15 of layer shine shape and hit F6 key.

Step 17

While you're still on frame 15, draw this shine shape and place it on the position like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 18

While the shape is still selected, go to the Color Panel (Shift+F9) and make the adjustments as follows:

While the shape is still selected, hit F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert it into a Movie Clip Symbol.

Step 20

While you're still on frame 15, double-click on the movie clip on stage with the Selection tool(V). You should now be inside the Movie Clip.

Step 21
While the shape is still selected, hit F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert it a Graphic Symbol.

Step 22

Click now on frame 5,10,15,20,25 and 55 and hit F6 key.

Step 23

Go back on frame 5 and make this shape:

Select frame 10 and make this shape:

Select frame 15 and make this shape:

Select frame 20 and make this shape:

Repeat the previouse step also for frame 25.

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and 5, frame 5 and 10, frame 10 and 15, frame 15 and 20, frame 20 and 25 and frame 25 and 55 on the
timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 29

Create a new layer and place it above the layer 1.

Step 30

Select the first frame of layer 2 and draw a circle shape on the position like it is shown on the picture below!

While the shape is still selected, go to the Color Panel (Shift+F9) and make the adjustments as follows:

Click now on frame 10,45 and 55 and hit F6 key.

Go back on frame 10 and enlarge the shape using the Free Transform Tool (Q), like it shown on the picture below!
Do this also for frame 45.

Step 34

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and 10 and frame 45 and 55 on the timeline and choose Create Shape Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 35

Go back on the main stage (Scene 1). After that, click on frame 80 and 85 of layer shine shape and hit F6 key.

Step 36

While you're still on frame 85, repeat step 6.

Step 37

Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 80 and 85 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.

Step 38

Select frame 86 and hit F7 key.
