PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

Various volunteering activities (main goal is show to participants the diversity

paperwork, cleaning, taking care of children, animal well-fare, etc.)
Inspirational evenings, workshops
Organizing an event of their choosing
Recreational optional activities such as hiking, dancing, cooking
Outdoor weekend
Sightseeing

OUR MISSION:
Mladiinfo wants to carry out the short-term EVS project for 10 young people from Macedonia
and Romania. As a starting impulse there was a desire to improve active participation in
society mainly on a local level (youth approach to urban development). The project's
general mission is to show to young people that they can be involved in running the city
and introduce to them the diversity of urban volunteering. This would be achieved mainly
by volunteering in organizations with a wide scale of concern (ecology, unemployement etc).
Participants will have a chance to discover these issues and possible solutions through
various voluntary but also entertaining and educational activities, opportunities to realize
themselves in physical and intellectual fields and actively participate in the local project
development and implementation. We consider volunteering as the best opportunity for
internal growth and impacting our community. We hope that the participants will continue in
their involvement within the society even after they return to their home countries.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

Mladiinfo doesn't have any restrictions for gender or age except for the general Erasmus+
rules. For Urban volunteering kick-start volunteers 17-22 years old are preferred, but scale
could be wider. No special skills are required, the pivotal criterion is the applicant's
motivation and reasons for participation in the project activities and volunteering in Slovakia.
Preferences will be furtherly given to volunteers who are willing to learn to make a difference
in their countries by starting new projects and events. Creativity is an advantage, too.
Volunteers have to be able to handle themselves in various situations and should be willing to
try new things. We require a communicative level of English and a positive attitude.

Costs
This project is financed by the Erasmus+. Being selected for this
program, all costs accommodation, travel, max. 275/per person,
visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered
by the NAs involved in this project. Please contact your sending
organisation to learn more about the financial details, and how
to arrange the booking of your travel tickets.
Participants will need to provide necessary documents (tickets) for reimbursement.

HOW TO APPLY:
Candidates will have to fill in the application as per the attachment included in the call and
send it to sending organisation (deadline is the 1st of March). According to its results they
will be selected afterwards. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed via Skype.
If the number of suitable people would be high we would arrange two rounds of calls.
After the process is over, we will set up a Facebook page for the chosen volunteers to get
them connected, inform them about the news, clarify their preferences and share ideas.

ABOUT MLADIINFO SLOVAKIA:

Mladiinfo Slovensko was established by former EVS volunteers in 2010 in Bratislava,
Slovakia. It is a well established non-profit organization promoting education and youth
mobility. Mladiinfo supports young people with information about EU programs, internships,
trainings, conferences, volunteering and other opportunities abroad but also in Slovakia.
Internet is used as the main tool to spread calls, success stories and motivate for participation.
Mladiinfo office is located in Bratislava Mlynska dolina, which is the largest complex of
student dormitories in Slovakia with almost 10 000 students. Mladiinfo is one of the most
active EVS sending organization in Slovakia. We have send around 130 volunteers for
projects in 24 countries. Mladiinfo Slovensko is a branch of Mladiinfo International a
registered network with the seat in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Mladiinfo Slovensko has over four
years of experience in EVS hosting and sending, youth exchanges and training. Hundreds of
young people from Slovakia have took the opportunity to find free educational options
through our website. Many people have traveled abroad and experienced informal education
via our organization. Mladiinfo Slovensko has sent about 130 volunteers to 24 countries. With
several experiences with sending groups of 10 short term EVS volunteers from Slovakia for
projects in Georgia and Russia, we have decided to implement similar project in Slovakia,
Bratislava, based on feedback from participants in similar project abroad and with our
knowledge of how this kind of projects are implemented in other countries.
