1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ashish Dubey at 10:30am. Committee
meeting attendees were introduced.
2. Previous Minutes
Minutes of ACI 2005 Fall Convention Kansas City, MO, meeting were approved
unanimously.
3. Announcements
Ashish Dubey announced that Prof. Surendra Shah had recently been elected to
the National Academy of Engineers.

Committees 544 and 549 will be sponsoring two technical sessions at Charlotte
Convention on Wednesday 29th March 2006. The theme of the symposium is
Applications of Fiber Reinforced Concrete Past, Present & Future.
Committees 544 and 549 will sponsor two additional technical sessions on the
same topic Applications of Fiber Reinforced Concrete Past, Present &
Future at the ACI 2006 Fall Convention in Denver, November 5-9, 2006.
RILEM conference on Textiles Reinforced Concrete will take place in Aachen,
Germany, September 5-7, 2006.

4. Liaison Member Reports


ACI 440 - No report
ACI 544 ACI Committee 544 Chair Nemy Banthia reported that a state-of-theart report on Durability of FRC has been submitted for ballot.
ASTM C9 - Committee C9.42 is revising 1018 test standard. A specification
standard for polymeric fibers is being prepared by the committee.
ASTM C27 - No report
ASTM C17 - No report
5. State of the Art report on Premix GFRC Status Update
Bud Molloy reported that document should be ready for ballot by 15th May, 2006.
6. Development of Design Guide for Thin Reinforced Cementitious Products
Status Update.
Barzin Mobasher reported that he did not think that it was feasible to write a Design
Guide for Thin Reinforced Cementitious Products at this moment. He felt that a
better document would be Design Tools. He presented his work so far and the
committee agreed that he prepare an initial draft on Design Tools document based
on the table of contents that he presented. He also requested data on applications that
could be used to demonstrate the design tools that he has developed. Several
members offered to contact him with details of applications he could use. The draft
and applications will be presented at the Denver Convention.
7. New Business
It was proposed to request a technical session on Premix GFRC at the Fall 2007
Convention in Puerto Rico October 14-18.
It was proposed to request a Technical Session on Design Methods for Thin
Reinforced Cementitious Products at Puerto Rico Convention.
Future projects were proposed: (a) State of the Art on Manufacture of Thin
Reinforced Cementitious Products (b) Create stand alone document on Spray-up
GFRC section that is included in State of the Art Fiber Reinforced Concrete
544.1R.

8. Next Meeting
The next meeting will take place on Sunday, November 5th, 2006 at 10.30am-2.00pm
in Denver, CO during the ACI 2006 Fall Convention.
9. Informal Discussion of Projects
Barzin Mobasher presented his work on Design Methods for Thin Reinforced
Cementitious Composites.
12. Adjourn
Meeting was adjourned at 2:00pm by Chairman Ashish Dubey.
