theInquisitor'sHandbookandisrecommendedforveteranplayersduetotheroleplaying
challengesinvolved.Whilesuperficiallysimilartoclerics,theyareevenmorerigidintheir
mindsetandcanperformfaithtalents.
BattleSistersThisnewcareerisaddedinBloodofMartyrs,itdiffersfromtheAdeptaSororitas
asincomehasbeenmodifiedanditallowscharacterstostartwiththecommonSisterofBattle

GreyKnightthisnewcareerisaddedinDaemonHunter,andisrecommendedforveteran

Acollector'seditionofDarkHeresythefirstreleaseofthegamewentonsaleonMonday,10
December2007,at16:00GMT.The200copiesofthegame,individuallynumberedwithan
accompanying'signature'ofaningameInquisitor,soldoutinsixminutes.[4]Theregulareditionwas
releasedon25January2008,[5]andademobookletwasdistributedatGenCon2007.[6]
ThegameitselfsharesmanydesignfeatureswithWHFRP2.
On28January2008,GamesWorkshopannouncedthatitwouldcloseBlackIndustriesthereby
discontinuingDarkHeresyandalltheothergamespublishedthesubsidiarytoallowthemtofocuson
thecommercialsuccessoftheirnovelsandcorebusiness.[7]
On22February2008,BlackIndustriesannouncedthatallWarhammerFantasyandWarhammer40,000
RPG,CCG,andselectboardgamerightswerebeingtransferredtoFantasyFlightGames,whowould
continuetopublishDarkHeresy.[8]
Duringlate2008and2009,FantasyFlightstartedreleasingautonomouslydevelopedmaterialforthe
DarkHeresygame:acollectionofhereticalfactionstopittheplayercharactersagainsttitledDisciples
oftheDarkGods,amonstermanualcalledCreaturesAnathema,andaminicampaigninthreeparts
dubbedTheHaarlockLegacy.
FantasyFlightalsoannouncedamanualon"radical"inquisitors(coveringthemostextremefactions,
theirtactics,equipment,andmostprominentfigures)andamajorexpansionallowingplayerstotake
theircharacterstotherankofinterrogator,bestowedwithaninquisitorialrosette,enjoyingaugmented
prestigeandabletosummonmorepowerfulallies.
