Track Construction Machine TCM 60

TCM 60

Basic execution
TCM

The TCM 60 is built to lay new track continuously. It uses the

same working principle as the MATISA Track Renewal Trains
which are internationally renowned for their excellence

Worksite set-up

The adjacent drawing shows the procedure when the choice is

made to pull the rails from the machine onto the platform. This
solutions avoids trains crossing on the work-site.

The initial machine set-up at a new worksite is an autonomous

and very rapid process, as all the units required are carried by
the machine itself.
After the initial set-up, continuation of work at the worksite
only requires the exchange of the sleeper or rail and sleeper
transport wagons; thus there is no interruption to the track
laying process.

Rail pulling on the platform

This operation, which is not simultaneous with the sleeper
laying, requires the following equipment:
XX 1 caterpillar tractor
XX Guiding rollers to be installed along the machine and the

supplementary wagon
XX Rollers to be placed every 10 meters along the platform

XX 2 winches at the front of the TCM to pull the rail to the

system
XX 2 pairs of driven rollers under the WES, to push the rails

To guide the rails and to avoid any damage to the platform, support
rollers are placed manually every 10 meters directly onto the
platform.
These rollers are picked up when the sleepers are laid.

Track laying unit

The technique used for laying the sleepers is the same as that
developed and used on the latest generation of track renewal
trains. Thanks to its rapid, short movements, this laying unit is
renown as the most reliable and accurate currently available on
the market.

Drawings 1 to 5 on the left show the sleepers cinematic in the

laying unit.

Drawings 6 and 7 show that before adjusting the distance

between the sleepers, they are laid on the track formation
ensuring constant and regular spacing.

Cabin work posts

The cabin of the TCM 60 features two work posts:
XX one for laying the sleepers and guiding the machine
XX one for laying the rails on the sleepers
P1: post for sleepers
and machine guiding
P2: post for rail positioning

TCM 60

Guiding the machine

A line painted on the track platform helps the operator to
guide the caterpillar; moreover the working unit can be moved
laterally to refine the guiding precision.
