Goal: achieve UK interest
UK cant make their own rules. The rules which lucrative to UK national interest,
EU has very strict policies which based on all members agreement, thus UK cant reject the
policies.
1. Why staying in EU can harm UK national interest
UK national interest:
a. UK wants to expand their market,
b. Limiting immigrant quota
c. Environmental standart
d. Labour protection standart
Why by staying in EU they cant achieve those interest?
a. In the case of expanding market
EU has high standart of environmental standart, human right protection,
meanwhile UK wants to expand their market to the some developing countries
which cant fulfil the standart of EU. For example : having free trading with
Africa, China, amd Indonesia.
Why expanding market to those countries is important?
Characteristics of UK product:
Possibilities of purchasing power in those developing countries
b. Domestic Policies
In case to overcome Imigrant (refugee), and environment, it is decided by EU
policies
How was the proceess of decision making in EU?
Each country has proporsinal vote in EU legislative, it is one voice for each
country. Thats why UK will always failed to fight for their interest because they
have different interest. For example: Germany has high interest to accept
immigrant, France has high environmental standart. Thus, it proves to you on how
they have different fundamental interest with the other countries.
Why does It harm UK for staying at EU?
a. In the case of Imigrant.
Refugee tend to choose rich country as their distination, at the end there are so

much of them choose to stay at UK. It burdens the country unproportionally.

Because EU distributes imigrant to the country based on countrys economy
capital. However, Nowadays, London is the 3rd biggest city in the world which
has great number of population. Moreover, UK already accepted poland cheap
labour that much. Thus, it creates burdening refugee distribution for UK. and its
unfair since UK actually has their own interest to manage those things not only
based on its economical capabilities.
b. UK society economical income
Labour or workers in UK has the standart of national minimum wage, it is 6.70
pounds. Currently the flooding of refuggee makes the rare of jobfields. How the
conditions of jobfield in UK area cant embrace all the society. It increase the
number of unemployement, Which backlashing the interest of UK, that is shutting
down the number of enemployement. Even if they still can make a job field by
distributing the job for example but at the end they need to decrease the national
of minimum wage which also harms the prosperity standart of society.
c. Product Standart
A good parameter In creating the product standart is flexibity. a country need such
a flexibility to run or apply the policies. If we are able to run that, we are going
with it and if we are not able to run the policies then we need to postpone or
decrease the standart. For example like
EU has a strict policies and standart about the EU members product and it is
forcing. which sometimes it might be unaffordable for UK to do so, currently or in
the future. So it is harmful for UK product standart if UK keeps staying in EU.
Why leaving EU can make UK achieve their interest?
Better decision making
Since they will have their absolute freedom of choice to make a decision.
Decison making process about every single policies will be made by national
parliament, which only embrace the national societys demmand not the other
contries demand anymore. It should ease UK to make policies based on only their
national interest. So thats why leaving EU should be more beneficial for UK.
2. Why does it justify to leave EU
a. In the Idea of pravilage from EU to have a single market
Its okay to leave this previlage to benefit them in the field of trading. What
actually single market offers:

Trade barriers is 0 %, it is not important even harmed beacuse when the

trade bariers for each countries are 0% it makes so much germany and
france companies and products comes to the UK with cheap trade bariers.
Currency that brought by UK is poundsterling which higher than euro. And
by this policies it obstructs the greater income and create such a defisit
caused by higher production tarif rather than ekspor income which Uk
products should adapt their prices as well. The index of export and import
proves that the defisit of UK in trading or their market is 47%.
Even if its beneficial, we dont think we need to stay. Because there is still
escaped mechanism, it is free trade with europe like switchzerland and
norway do. By only fulfiling the free-trading requirement. Moreover, we
will have flexibility to manage our marketing system. Without
necessceryly think on how strict the EU rules are. Once you cant fulfil
them, you just can simply go.

So thats why, it is justify for us to leave EU. No harm and more beneficial for us.

a. Geopolitik
EU is pro palestine for example labeling the product coming from israelli. Israelli
comes as the aliance of US, which US has a great relationship with UK. UK as
members will be forced to pro palestine. It will backlash the UK US realtion.
b. Membership tax
Tax of EU membership is decided based on the wealth of each country. UK has an
obligation to pay the tax which is 10.4 billion poundsterling for each year. This great
amount of money could be used as the sociestys prosperity. Like education,
infrastructur, societys welfare.

1. Why is it beneficial to UK in order to achieve their goal.

They could enjoy single market policies. Single market characteristics are:
a. Tarrif barriers is 0 %.
Normal tarrif barriers get 10%, when UK out from EU
- EU member country tend to choose 0% tarrif barrier
- When UK eksport to other EU countries, UK should pay 10% tarrif barrier,
moreover more than 50% UKs mrket is EU member
Thats why UK will have no bargaining possition
b. Fair competition.
When countries have the same burden,
- the same environtmental standart
- human right protection
- same labor standart
When UK exit: will not get the fair competition,which it could be enjoyed by UK as
EU members such as: no cheating, prioritized as the trading partner with other EU
members, etc.
2. Why in EU could influence the decision making
- UK still have votes in EU
- Could propose policy that in line with UKs interest
So, once the proposal could passed, it will influence & force 28 countries to

Once there are a bad policy made by EU, UK could lobby the decision process
about the policy. Why UKs bargaining possition is likely high & will be followed
by other country? Because UK is 2nd strongest economic after Germany. Why
stong economical will influence? EU member depend on UK interm of
investment, have a lot of alliace such as Dutch & Nordic country. Thats why its
better for UK to stay. When UK exit, UK cannot lobby the decision of the policy
because UK didnt have bargaining pssition in EU to change the decision.

Justification
1. Expanding Market
Why expending market is less important?
By staying in EU your income coming from export import is bigger rather than you
walk out from EU. EU is the strongest economic area in the world, even if other like
china or india is the fastest economic area. It proves on how EU is strong and more

lucrative to stay still. Moreover when you are going to expand you need to start a new
relation with other economic market area like TPP or AFTA. It is better for you to
play save in EU.
2. EU and UK have same basic interest
EU apperantly has same interest with UK like environmental standart, democracy, and
human right protection. Theyre all in line with each other interests. compare with
UK joins other economic institution which might have far different like environment
standart for example.

3. Harm UK Economy
UK rely on tourism much (income : 7.8 Trilliun USD/ 10% UK GDP).
Join EU : enjoy free visa facility ---- Exit : Lose free visa. Harm : Tourist will tend to
choose destination country which has Free Visa facility and reluctant to come to UK.
Cheap Labor--- thats what UK need. Even if the wage for the labor is lower, why its
ok?
At least there is standard wage. Lower wage lucrative for UK, why ? it makes the
cost of company to pay labor is decrease, and the rest of the budget can be allocated
for other sector such as research, expand market. Increase quality product, etc. Once it
is succesfull, the company can absorb more labor from UKs society and cater the
unemployment problem.
