Dear Praying Friends,
Current News Light of Ireland Ministries: I am always
amazed at how the Lord orchestrates everything in our lives for
His glory. He certainly is a mighty God. As of late, the Lord
has closed doors and opened new ones. We’re amazed to see
how God is leading us to start our own mission organization
called Light of Ireland Ministries (LIM). At first we were a bit
apprehensive; yet, God has provided the know-how in skilled,
retired missionaries and godly men to help us with this task. It
has been miraculous how He has led these people into our lives
that have a burden to help us see this through. Working with
our own mission board gives us many advantages as well. In
short, it would be the most economical means of going to
Ireland and gives us the flexibility to work alongside other
seasoned missionaries in Ireland. We are very excited about
this.
The LIM organization will start small and be run by
volunteers who have a heart and burden to serve the Lord in
missions. This will greatly aid us and reduce the amount of
funds needed to be raised. We are praising the Lord for His
continual guidance as we are just one step closer to serving in
Ireland.
Up Coming Trip: Currently, we are planning for a winter
survey trip to Ireland for about 6-8 weeks. Our goal is to
further establish our contacts, make inquires about moving to
Ireland, and seek counsel on other
skills we may need before moving
overseas. We will report more about
this in our coming newsletters.
Greenback Church in East Tennessee: We have
been thrilled to serve in a new church this past
winter. In the fall, Kevin was asked to be the music
director of a small church called Greenback
Memorial Baptist Church. The church had recently
been through several splits leaving the church a
fraction of what it once was. We were immediately
impressed by the Lord that we should do all that we
could to encourage the people. It was encouraging
when God sent a godly man named Tony Brock to
pastor the church. We’ve been stretched by serving
in new ways in our church – Kevin as music
director and Darleen as the church pianist. Also,
Kevin has also been blessed to team up with Pastor
Brock as associate pastor and continues to grow in
the Lord under the wise council of this older, more
experienced man. The church has become a special
blessing to us and the people are very close to our
hearts.
Addie Girl: Our
new team member
is Adelaide Marie
Weston! She is a
true joy and delight
to her parents! At
four months old, she is constantly smiling. With
every new stage of her life, we are amazed at all she
can do! Indeed, we’re proud parents!
