1. a) The framework will be made rectangular steel tube.

b) The safety tube along with the framework will be made out of 25x2 mm hot rolled steel
pipes. The safety tube has a 800 mm width and it`s made of a bent piece. The distance
between the highest point of the helmet and the safety tube is more than 50 mm. The engine
support tubes, are made from 30x20x3 mm rectangle steel tube.

Fig. 5 Air pressure bottle positioning

2. a) The pressure air-bottle along with the pressure reducer are placed inside the framework.
b) The pressure bottle will be mounted above the horizontal frame of the framework
e) The chasis will be closed and also the driver will be protected from the moving
components.
f) The pneumobile will be provided with a cardboard crush zone mounted in the front of
the vehicle.
Max. stress achieved under load:
=29 Mpa (Max. allowed = 25 Mpa)
Max. deformation achieved under load = 0.2 mm

4)

Engine
a) The conversion of pressured air energy to mechanical energy is performed by Rexroth
cylinders and pneumatical valves.
b) The engine will use two 50x500 pneumatic cylinders and an additional two 80x500
cylinders as a pressure recovery system.
c) The engine will be rear-mounted behind the driver-seat so that all components will be
visible.

7)

Drive chain

a) The main drive chains will be 122x1/2 BOSCH REXROTH chains.

The secondary chains will be 1/2 chains from automotive sources.
b) Our engine construction implies freewheels for every sprocket.
c) There will be modifications regarding the transmision between the races. All of the
engine components will be used before and after the modification.
The chian mechanism will work similar to a rack-pinion mechanism. The chain will be
pulled and pushed by the cylinders while the sprockets transforms the translation
movement into rotation movement.

The vehicle will not be provided with suspension.

9)

Steering-gear
a) The steering gear consist of a Ackermann steering system.
b) We estimate that the amount of torque required to turn the steering wheel will be less
then 20 Nm.
c) The vehicle will comply with the 8 m turning diameter.

10)

Brake
a) V-brakes on both rear wheels and mechanical disc brakes on both front wheels.
b) The V-brakes will also be used as handbrakes.

11)

Compressed air bottle

a) 10 litre and 200 bar air bottle as supplied.
b) The air bottle will be webbeb horizontaly on the chasis in a safe and fix position as
in Fig. 5

12)

Safety prescriptions
The air pressure bottle will be fixed on a metallic support attached to the chassis. On
the support, the bottle will be fixed using lashing systems.
A three point seat-bealt will be used for the driver.
The emergency stop button will be fixed next to the steering wheel in an accessible
position from both inside and outside of the cockpit.
The current source (24V battery) will be fixed next to the PLC unit at the rear of the
vehicle, except the battery will have easy acces for unplug in case of emergency.
The driver will wear a helmet (according to KRESZ rules) alltime during his seat in
the cockpit.

13)

Start plates
Start plates and publicity surfaces will be provided on both sides and front of the
vehicle on the bodywork

What shall we know about your team? (field of interest, hobby, origin of
the team's name, why did you apply for the competition and where did
you receive information about it from?, etc.)
We are a group of 5 classmates and friends, and the main reason we are
participating at this contest its our passion about all types of motors. We do
think about future mobilities, but nevertheless nothing can beat the Class and
Style of Classic Cars or the Sound of a nice V8 engine.
We love to expire new things, meet great people, share ideas that are worth to
be shared and try to learn new things everyday.
Our team name is an acronym from our initials, and we applied for the
competition because we want to demonstrate to ourselves that no matter how
hard the competition is, together we can make it.
Our supporting instructor camed with this idea, about participating at this
contest, and we said: sure, why not?
