GENERAL
3.4.2 MENUS
The default pull down menus associated with CAD
software packages shall be used at all times; e.g.
ACAD.MNU used within AutoCAD. No customisation
of the default pull down menu shall be allowed.
Configurations, routines, symbols & blocks supporting
this document, shall be contained within a standard
DD.MNU and is to be adopted for all DD projects. No
local customisation of the DD menu shall be allowed.
To aid drawing production, custom menus may be
created at the discretion of the Originator. These
menus can be incorporated/loaded in addition to the
default menu as required.

3.4.7 SCALES
CAD entities shall be drawn at full scale (1 DRAWING
UNIT = 1 MEASUREMENT UNIT). Final plotted scale
shall be established during composition of the drawing
layout for plotting.
Originators using AutoCAD shall employ the PAPER
SPACE/ MODEL SPACE facility to establish drawing
layout and scales. All drawing entities shall reside in
MODEL SPACE with the exception of view ports,
general notes, revision clouding, title block and border.
AutoCAD VIEWPORTS are to be created in
PAPERSPACE, placed on the a non-plotting layer
DEFPOINTS or Z_VPORTS. The Z_VPORTS layer
shall be switched-off prior to plotting or saving the
CAD file.

3.4.10 TOPOGRAPHICAL
MAPPING
The use of purchased or supplied copies of
government, topographical mapping backgrounds are
strictly controlled. Files on loan shall not be copied for
any purpose or lent to a third party.
No unauthorised editing of survey/mapping data shall
be allowed.
In general base mapping shall be plotted using a thin
pen weight / half tone technique. Refer to 3.6.2 for
base mapping pen settings.
