PRE-CAUTION

VS-1000

Caution in installation
1. Do not install in high temperature & humidity. Install on well ventilated place.
2. Install apart from wall by 30Cm. Please set on place which is plain & no vibration.
3. Do not install on flammable or explosive place.
4. Please clarify proper electronic source before using. (Voltage, Power)
5. Please use in place where the voltage variable rate is within 10 %.
6. Please use the ground outlet.

Caution in operation

1. Please keep the circumstantial conditions as temperature from 2 to 40, and

humidity lower than 80%. Unit may not operate correctly.

2. Do not put the plug with wet to prevent the electric shock.
3. Please keep the circumstantial temperature not to changed rapidly.
Humidity may caused on unit inside. And it can cause trouble on unit.
(If dew is foamed on chamber, clean with soft dry fabric.)
4. Please put the contents into ROTOR symmetrically with same weight of contents.
If not, unit is operated in UNBALANCE and causes the trouble.
5. If you use under room temperature, please operate the refrigerated before 30 minutes
from input contents.
If you put the contents into CHAMBER before getting the aimed temperature, contents
can be degenerated.
6. Once refrigerator is operated, do not touch the chamber in wet. Hand can be frozen or
stuck on chamber by cold.
7. Door is closed during rotation. Do not open by forced for safety.
After end of operation, DOOR can be opened but chamber is still rotating for a while.
Therefore, please put out the contents after rotor is fully stopped.
8. When move the unit or do not use for a long time, please separate the rotor from unit.
If do not used for a long time, rotor may cannot be separated form shaft.

Additional cautions.
1. Use mild detergent for cleaning.
2. Please use proper tubes or Blood Bag.
- Plastic tubes of Nalgene, Falcon, Corning, Nunc, Sastedit.
- It it is possible, don't use glass tubes. In case of using glass tubes, take Corex
tubes or Firex tubes and don't set speed higher than 2,500RPM.
3. In case of smoke, strange smell or Error occurs, cut off main power switch and inform
to contact our service center.
4. Do not alternate or repair by an unauthorized person.

Installation
1. Install on place where is plane & no vibration. And apart from the wall by 30Cm.
(By using Balance device)
2. Check the outside and all contents
3. Connect the AC Power Cord and

on rear part and connect to the grounded outlet. (220v)

And then turn on the main power switch on rear part.

Please use proper voltage to prevent fire, electrical accident or damage on unit.
4. Put the Swing rotor on the chamber.

- When unit is delivery, swing rotor and Shield chamber is fixed.

5. Put the Buckets on Swing rotor, Put property tube rack on Buckets.
- After BUCKET is put on the swing rotor, check these buckets is moved smoothly .
** Use sample material with exact balance and same volume .
Also , put them on tube racks symmetrically. If not, big vibration and noise while
unit is running. Also, it can be caused for unit broken.
- Close LID of the shield chamber, press the door. Door is closed automatically.

Meaning of word
1. RPM : Rotation Per Minute. It means speed of centrifuge.
2. RCF : Relative Centrifugal Force.

dt : Integral Sigma Square dt. Total centrifugal value.

Feature
1. VS-1000 is Large Capacity Refrigerated centrifuge by Inverter Motor Control.
Test tube or Blood bag can be put on this unit.
2. Material of inside Chamber is made of STAINLESS STEEL (SUS 304), Shield chamber and
Buckets are made of Aluminium. Exterior material is made of Steel(CR41) with powder
coating.
3. Deceleration and Acceleration mode can be controlled by 9 steps.
4. RPM and RCF can be exchanged by Microprocessor controller.
20 Memories can be available for easy test.
5. Self diagnostic function detects an error and shows on display.
6. Hermetically sealed compressor makes low noise.
7. Available check test progress by Touch Screen Pad easily.
8. Strong chamber and rotor ,Self-Diagnostic Function and Safety device for Unbalance
, Temperature and Speed.
9. Automatic Door is built for safety and convenience.

Operation
1. Turn on the Main switch on the rear side.
2. If there is no problem on the unit, current status is displayed on each display.

If any error message is displayed, please cut off the main power and contact
your agent or our A/S team directly.

3. Open the door and set the rotor correctly.

4. Make a balance of unit and rotor by using balance. (** Balance is option)

** Make a balance by using Balance on top, front and side of the unit.
** Install this unit on horizontal place. Make a balance by adjustable device on wheel.
4. Close the LID of shield chamber after Putting the test tube or blood bag on the
Bucket, Press the door a little. Automatic Door Lid System is working to close the
door automatically. Press the door more. Door is closed fully.
* Refer to below picture when tube or blood bag is put on the buckets.

Same Volume tube or blood bag must be put on the buckets or tube rack symmetrically
(** If there are no balance, some accident can be occurred while unit is running.)
EX) Swing Rotor

a. Put same volume tube or blood bag on bucket or tube

rack symmetrically.
b. If you want only 1 test tube, 6 tubes (Same Volume)
must put on each tube rack.
c. If many tube should be put, tube must be put
symmetrically
d. If you put blood bag on buckets, put same volume
blood bag on each buckets symmetrically

* If you want to put exact volume on the tube, you should use Pippet or precision balance.

5. Check below order to set the value on parameter.

6. If you want to use without PROGRAM Mode......
( Go to No.7 if you want to use PROGRAM MODE.)
6-1. Check Page.9. Input the value by Page.9(Control Panel)
If you press -

(SPEED Button), Available setting the SPEED.

Setting SPEED is shown on bottom of SPEED BUTTON (BLUE)
After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.

If you press -

(TIME Button), Available setting the TIME.

Setting TIME is shown on bottom of TIME BUTTON(BLUE)
After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.

If you press -

(TEMP Button), available setting the TEMPERATURE

Setting TEMP is shown on bottom of TEMP BUTTON(BLUE)
After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.

If you press -

(Rotor Button), available setting the Rotor No.

After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.
If you press -

(Accel Button),available setting the ACCEL.

After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.
If you press -

(Decel Button),available setting the DECEL

After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.
If you press -

(Program Button), available setting PROGRAM.

After setting the value, press the ENTER Button. Value is saved.

7. PROGRAM MODE. ( AVAILABLE 20 Program)

You can make various PROGRAM.
8. Press

(START button), unit is starting.

9. If working is finished, centrifuge is stopped automatically

Or , If you press

(STOP button) while unit is running, working is stopped immediately.

10. After unit is stopped fully, press

(STOP button) one more.

Door is opened automatically. Open the door fully by using hand. Open the LID of Shield
chamber without shake. Take out the TEST tube or blood bag.

If main power is failed suddenly or door is not opened by

STOP button, use emergency key in front of unit.

On emergency situation, take off the main power immediately.

photo. There is a hole. Use wrench we offered.

11. After Rotor is stopped completely, press STOP button. Door is opened automatically.
12. After using Centrifuge, turn off the main power and Power circuit breaker.

Reference
1. In case of low temperature, please set the temp. value before 30 minutes to secure
cooling status. If the setting temp. is lower than ambient, refrigerator starts
automatically.
2. Once you select program number, you can review all setting value of that program.
3. To check TOTAL RPM, please turn on the centrifuge with pressing of Speed mode key.
4. In case of failure of power supply, door is not opened by STOP Key. In that case, you
can open the lid forcefully by Emergency hole.
You can find it in front of unit.

This guarantee is valid only if the unit has been used in accordance
with the instructions in this manual and for its intended purpose.

1. General Information
This service manual is designed to help implement the exact and prompt service for
Centrifuge (Model : VS- 1000) of VISION SCIENTIFIC CO.,LTD.
Therefore, a service representative should fully understand the manual and use it to
be the proper reference materials.
Please follow the manual because mechanical damages can happen and a user can
be hurt during installation, operation and A/ S, if you do not follow the manual.
The operation should be conducted by the man who can handle with the equipment
that has electric current. If the manual is lost, please ask the head office or an
agency.
If you don't understand the contents of the manual, please feel free to contact the
head office or an agency.
Please understand that there could be some differences in some of the contents,
pictures and images if the parts change for safety reason or quality and performance
improvement reason.

We are not responsible for troubles or injury resulting from disassembly without any
proper tools or maintenance facilities during working.
If you contact our marketing team about any improvement or illogicality during

4. Installation
4- 1. Instruction.
1) When a centrifuge arrives, check closely the damages for packing.
2) When the packing do not have any damages, open and check the damages for the unit.
3) Check if the unit has all accessories.
4) Check standard power inquiry. Use the Power socket with Ground.
In case of bent plug, stop to use it. Contact to us.
If you use Power socket or plug for ground, Fire or electric accident can be occurred.
Voltage and hertz are mentioned on serial barcode of unit.
Before using the unit, check it in advance.
* If you find some problem or broken for unit, contact to us.
Warranty is attached on last page of this manual .

4- 2. Location
1) Put this unit on wide space enough. Unit should be put apart 30cm from the wall as
Standard IEC1010- 2- 020.
2) To turn the power immediately when error is occurred on unit, unit should be put around
Emergency S/ W for power.
3) Locate this unit on horizontal place.
4) While centrifuge is working, do not put anything on top of the centrifuge.
It can be blocked for good working and it can be gotten some damage.
5) Be careful Test sample do not be dropped on centrifuge.
6) All condition for mechanical, electric and location are fine, plug in . Then, check 4- 3.

4- 3. Electric inquiry
1) Use a proper wire because the centrifuge requires special electrical requirements.

205 ~ 250Vac, 50Hz/ 60H, SINGLE PHASE, 16A

2) The large outfit during acceleration is the rated power to reduce acceleration time.
3) The wire is 30A wire(3C x 2.5) including a ground wire.
4) Power cord is connected to main switch board directly.
5) The centrifuge is equip with Power Breaker S/ W(50A) just in case of a
short circuit or over- current by the regional difference of electric power.
6) Check the voltage by a electrical measuring instrument and then check to meet the
requirement of the fifth clause.

7) If the measured voltage is 10% over 230V, the malfunction or errors of the unit could
happen.
8) Check if the ground wire of a plug is grounded or the ground connection part is
disconnected.

Check Same volume tube are put on bucket symmetrically or not.

Property value is set on the unit or not.

6. Disassembly
6- 1 Main Body (Before disassembly, check with engineer enough)
You should unplug when you disassemble or change parts to prevent electrical accidents.

Front lower Open

There are 3 screws around lower part of unit.
Lift up the lower panel like left photo after release them.
Front lower case would be opened.

Front Upper Open

After remove the lower case,
Check around middle part of unit like left photo.
Release 3 screws. Then, lift up the upper case.
Upper case would be opened.

Side Open
Release 3 screws around left or right side of unit.
If you push to downward, case is opened.
Emergency Switch
There is a hole for emergency to open the door.

If some emergency is occurred, turn off the main power

first of all.
Check unit is stopped completely.
Spin this hole by using offered wrench, Door is opened
manually.
** Do not use this switch while unit is running.
After unit is stopped completely, use this,please.
Inverter motor controller

Do not change the saving value on Inverter motor control
without our approval. If you change the factory initial
value, most program can be twisted.

1. In case of low temperature, please set the temp. value before 30 minutes to secure
cooling status. If the setting temp. is lower than ambient, refrigerator starts
automatically.
2. Once you select program number, you can review all setting value of that program.
3. To check TOTAL RPM, please turn on the centrifuge with pressing of Speed mode key.
4. In case of failure of power supply, door is not opened by STOP Key. In that case, you
can open the lid forcefully by Emergency hole.
You can find it in front of unit.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance

8- 1. Cleaning
1) Unit

The outside of a unit should be cleaned by soft and dry cloth.

If the outside needs to be cleaned, keep the unit dry by wiping with dry cloth after
cleaning with soapy water.

Do not use caustic detergents such as alcohol, benzene, thinner.

Use a damp sponge with a mild liquid detergent.
Be careful of a scratch during cleaning.
Do not use steel wool. It could create corrosion.

warranted by VISION SCIE NT IF IC CO., LT D for a period of one

year after the date of purchase.

The warranty applies only to defects due to the fault of product workmanship or materials,
