JS5016 Data Convergence Gateway Operation Guide

In a following part of this document, we take the following scheme

diagram, for example:

1. Firstly get the device IP address---(If you has known the IP address please
directed skip to the JSNetView operation section)

JS5016 data aggregation gate supports NMS based on Console serial port. You
can query the device IP address by connect the Console port on device with a
computers serial port.

1.1 Setting up a Console connection Connect the DB9F end of serial NMS
cable to the computers serial port and the other RJ45 end connects to the
CONSOLE port on the equipments rear panel.
1.2 You can use a variety of terminal software; here we use HyperTerminal
in Windows accessories for an example. Click the computer's Start menu,
select Programs Accessories communication HyperTerminal

1.3 Make sure the equipment and the computer has connected properly,
and then selects the correct COM number, as shown in the following
figure

1.4 Setting the Hyper Terminals parameters, the baud rate set to 115200
(baud rate can be modified, the factory default value is 115200bps),
and the data bit set to 8, the parity set to None, the stop bit set to
1, the data flow control set to None. as shown in the following figure.

After the serial port parameters have been set, click OK button to
enter the terminal control interface.

1.6 Press ENTER key, it will appear root login, input user name admin
and press ENTER key again, it will appear password, the factory
default password is blank, hit the press key to login the equipments
CLI operation interface directly. Enter shownet to get the device IP
address.

The default IP address is 192.168.1.11.

2. JSNetView NMS operation and parameters configuration

2.1 To create a device icon, right click on any blank place at the topology interface
and select New > JS5016.

2.2 Right click on the device icon and select Properties to modify the device
attribution, modify the IP Address and click OK button.

2.3 Double click the device icon to enter the device management
interface.

Only need to configure the working clock and leave other

parameters to default setting. See the parameters configuration of
System Parameter in the following figure.

All the E1 Parameters use the default configuration.

Configuring the parameter of HDLC to assign the bandwidth for the two
JS10Bs.

To create a device icon, right click on any blank place at the topology
interface and select New > JS10B.

Connect JS5016 with JS10B.

Connect the first JS10Bs icon with the second JS10Bs icon.

Set ID for the two JS10B devices.

Select network side E1 clock for the first JS10B device.

Assign the bandwidth for the Ethernet port of the first JS10B.

The Loop Test dont need to configure.

Assign the bandwidth for the Ethernet port of the second JS10B.

Refer to above steps to realize JSnetview login, JS5016 login, JS10B login, and
service parameters configuration.
