AIR HANDLING UNITS


1. General
The air handling units shall be of European origin. The units shall be constructed with double
skinned panels with the following features and standards. The casing shall be of Non-skeleton
construction made of sandwich type panels formed in the shape of a letter
C and reinforced with an inner frame system.
Over all the casing construction shall be in compliance with EN 1886, EUROVENT & TUV.

2. Quality assurance
The AHUs shall comply with the standards mentioned below.
ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
Mechanical strength of the casing class 2A.
Thermal transmittance class T2.
Casing air Leakage Class B (-400 Pa to 700Pa)
Thermal bridges factor class TB2.

3. Casing
The panel thickness shall be 40mm injected with polyurethane foam insulation having density
of 42 kg/m3 and having thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m K. The units shall be made of
Non-skeleton construction. The casing panels (inner & outer) shall be constructed of zinc
coated steel sheets formed in a C shape and reinforced with an inner frame system. The
inside and out side of panel shall be completely smooth & over all heat transfer Coefficient
shall be 0.62 w/m2 K.
The external casing shall be coated with 275g/m2 galvanized zinc (Zn) and with a coating
material/thickness: polyester / 25 m for corrosion protection. The casing thermal
conductivity ratio K and acoustic insulation of casing shall comply with EN 1886.

4. Fan section
Fan shall be of European origin & have backward curved plug type (SWSI) direct driven fans
with VFD provided as a standard for units with lesser airflows.
Fan shall be of European origin & have backward curved plug type (SWSI) belt driven fans
units with higher airflows. Fans shall comply with EN 1886, EN 25136, ISO 5801 & AMCA
standard 210.
All the fan motors shall be TEFC type three phase with internal thermal protection. Motor
protection class shall be IP 55 and with class F insulation and the fan and motor assembly
shall be isolated from the casing by means of rubber anti vibration mounting designed for
93%.

5. Cooling coils
Cooling coils shall be of European make. Cooling coils shall be fabricated from heavy gauge
copper tubing expanded into Aluminium fins. Headers shall be heavy section seamless copper
tubing with connection made in steel pipe with anti correction protection paint and external
screw thread for up to DN 50mm and welded joint for DN 80mm. Fittings shall include
plugged vent and drain taps for each section.
The coils shall be tested at 21 bar and designed to operate at 16 bar NP. The coil shall be
mounted on guide rails for side withdrawal. Header connection through the unit
casing shall be sealed with rubber grommets.

Drain pans shall be made up of stainless steel with coating at the bottom to avoid
condensation. Drain pans shall have drain connection to the service side. Every drain pan shall
be equipped with a siphon.
The fin pitch distance shall be 2.5 mm, thickness of fins shall be 0.1 mm and the thickness of
the tube wall shall be 0.37 mm.

All the coils shall be made in compliance with EN305, EN1216, and EN 13053 standards.

6. Electric heater
Heater heating elements shall be manufactured by European manufacturer. Electric heating
coils shall be made up of heavy construction of Ni-60%, Cr-15 % & Fr-25%.
As standard, the heater is equipped with an overheat protection thermostat
The frame of electric heater shall be made up of zinc-coated steel. Controls for the electric
heaters shall be provided as an option.

7. Filter
Pre filter
Filters shall be of European make. Filters shall be installed in a cassette, and the complete
cassette with the filter shall be installed on a sliding rail. The frame of panel filters shall be
made up of galvanized steel of 50 mm thickness, and wire mesh shall provide on the filter
media for additional protection. The pre-filters shall be of EU-4 class made of synthetic fibre
media having an average filtration efficiency of 92%.

Bag Filters.

The bag filters shall be of EU-5 class made of synthetic fibre media having an average
filtration efficiency of 90%. Filtration bags are of 300mm long installed in a steel frame of
25mm thick

The bag filters shall be of EU-7 class made of synthetic fibre media having an average
filtration efficiency of 80-85%. Filtration bags are of 600mm long installed in a steel frame of
25mm thickness.

Max. air velocity: v=3,6m/s
Filter bypass leakage F9 - tightness CLASS B (acc. EN 1886)

EU-9
The bag filters shall be of EU-9 class made of synthetic fibre media having an average
filtration efficiency of 90-95%. Filtration bags are of 600mm long installed in a steel frame of
25mm thickness
Average filtration ratio Em=9095%
Recommended filter change: p =350Pa
Max. Air velocity: v=3,6m/s
Filter bypass leakage F9 - tightness CLASS B (acc. EN 1886)
Ambient temperature: max. 70C / 100%
Leakage class B.

The filters shall comply with EN779 standards.

8. Rotary exchanger
The rotary wheels shall be of European origin. The heat wheel shall be suitable for both
sensible and latent recovery. The exchanger shall be made of a rotor (400-500mm thick)
installed on shaft with bearings. The rotor filling shall be a spiral built of two alternating
layers of flat and corrugated aluminium sheets 0.07mm thick creating ducts of hydraulic
diameter D=1.6mm. The rotary speed drive system is variable enabling max. exchanger
efficiency and regulation of energy recovery level.
The rotary exchanger shall be equipped with a purge sector, to reduce the penetration of
exhaust air to the supply air to minimum. Brush seals shall be placed on the rotors

perimeter and the dividing line to provide additional protection\ against air leakages.
The heat wheels shall comply with EN 308, EN 13053 standards.

9. Plate heat exchanger.


A system of crosswise formed 0.120.2mm thick aluminium plates, between which separated
streams of supply and exhaust air flow in an alternating crosswise pattern.
Internal by-pass duct (VS-21650) with installed air damper which allows to divert air flow
outside the exchanger window:
- disabling energy recovery function
- function of the exchangers anti-freeze protection
This is equipped with drop eliminator with a drain pan
The plate heat exchanger shall comply with EN 308, EN 13053 standards.

FAN COIL UNITS


Unit Casing:
Made of galvanized steel, with 1.0 mm thick for top and bottom panels and 0.8 mm for side
panels. The complete unit is electro statically powder painted. The unit is insulated with 5 mm
thick closed cell foam insulation for thermal and acoustic insulation.

Drain Tray:
Is made of 0.8mm galvanized steel and is coated with Bitumen paint for corrosion resistance.
The drain tray is insulated with 5 mm thick closed cell foam insulation, to prevent
condensation. Extended drain tray is available as an option

Cooling Coils:
The coils are made with highly efficient aluminium plate fins, which are mechanically bonded
to 3/8 OD seamless copper tubes. All coils are specifically designed for chilled water
applications. All coils are leak tested at 450 psi. The coils are 4rows, 12 FPI and with manual
air vent for all the models, from 1.5 TR to 5.0 TR.

Chilled water pipe connections:


Units are supplied with flare type connections as standard. Male thread G.I pipe connections
are also available.

Blower:
Centrifugal blowers, made of aluminium are direct drive, double inlet, double width, statically
and dynamically balanced with motor and are selected for high efficiency.

Air Filters:
Factory installed, permanent washable aluminium filters, 12 mm are provided as standard for
all models

All "SCA" series chilled water fan coil units are provided with 5 speed fan motors, to cater to
a wide range of external static pressures. All fan motors have built-in internal overloads. Fan
motors are permanent split capacitor type, with permanently sealed and lubricated ball
bearings.

Construction:
Units are constructed with double air outlet for all models except 1.5 TR and 2.0 TR. For
double outlet configuration, duct flanges are provided in such a way that, ducting can be
performed for Y connection or for single duct.

Compact Design:
The heights of the units are only 305 mm for all the models from 1.5TR to 5.0TR, for easy
installation above false ceilings.

Easy Maintenance:
The access for the blower assembly and fan motor is from the bottom of the unit, which
makes the maintenance simple.
