Dear Parents,
It is with lightness in my heart that I write my insert for the newsletter this week. The
learners of Bryanston Primary made me a very proud Principal over the weekend
at our Soccer and Netball Tournament, not only with their positive attitude on the
fields and courts, but also their sportsmanship and the friendly engagement with
our visiting schools.
There are many people who I would like to thank:
The Grade Seven learners, who were pleased to assist whenever and wherever
they were needed on the day.
All our parents for allowing their children to be part of the tournament and
the wonderful support we received from you in supporting our children and
assisting at the stalls.
Mrs Barnard and her team from the BFC: yet again, well done on a superb job
of providing this event with delicious food from early morning and cleaning
up until late on Saturday night! Your time and the commitment shown to the
school by the whole committee is appreciated.
The organising committee and the SGB members for their hours spent beforehand and being readily available on the day to answer questions and
assist parents.
Mrs Paula Agar, for new ideas, the printing of the programmes and organising
the branding to assist with communication to the relevant schools and sponsors.
Mrs Pippa Hunt for arranging wonderful donations from a group of generous
sponsors.
My dedicated staff who worked so hard, from coaching and scorekeeping to
selling tokens, and looking after our visiting principals: you are appreciated
for taking care of our children, and the hours you put in to make a success out
of an event like this.
The sports department, for all their hard work setting up our Tournament. A
special thanks to Miss N Hart and Miss J Lester for organising the prize giving
and their hard work throughout the tournament.
Mrs. Lutawan for taking charge of so many aspects regarding this event.
The Finance Department for ensuring that the tokens were ready, Snapscan
was organised, and for all the counting of the money received.
Mr Hart and his groundstaff team, for setting up the fields and cleaning up
before, during and after the event, you have done very well!
Congratulations to all our teams that played in the tournament and a special word
to the teams that reached the finals: well done!

SECURITY
We are aware of and are dealing with a security incident that happened at the school earlier this week. We have spoken to the children
of the parents involved and the matter is in hand.
However, we would like to take this opportunity to remind parents of
our school security measures:
Any parent coming onto the grounds during school hours will
be required to sign in with security before proceeding directly
to Reception, where you will be assisted.
Any supplier entering the school grounds will be signed in
and accompanied by a staff member at all times while on the
grounds.
No child may leave the premises during school hours without a
note from reception and accompanied by an adult.
Bryanston Primarys parking is on public property, and although we have security guards on duty, we cannot cover the
entire area. We ask parents to be vigilant about locking their
vehicles behind them, as unfortunately car jamming is a reality
and it is difficult for us to secure such a large public parking
space.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards,
Mr Leon Botha, Principal
