Title of journal

: Lesson Planning.

1) Problem / Event
Lesson planning is very crucial for teachers to be prepared when they entered the
classroom. The main purpose of the lesson plan is to help and guide teachers along
the process during the teaching and what learning process. Therefore, in the process
of planning a lesson, teachers should know and well informed that whatever the
possibilities that is going to happen in the class must be well foreseen by the
teachers during the planning.
One of the problems that I encountered regarding the topic of lesson planning was
how to design it according to the specific skill of the language focus that is wanted to
be taught to the pupils. As for example, a language art lesson which is completely
different to the other lesson plans for the rest of the skill. Language Arts is not a skill
and therefore the way the lesson plan is being write up is different in its own way.

2) Analysis
The problem I realised after I being corrected by my lecturer about my language art
lesson plan. The lesson plan that I did at first was merely similar to a listening and
speaking lesson because in the lesson plan, I included the focussed skill which in a
language art lesson, there is no focus skill as the whole lesson of the language art
includes all the four basic language skills. In addition, my lesson plan was being
corrected and after that, I could understand now on how I should write a language art
lesson plan which is different from the lesson plan of other language skill.
What I could see the difference was on how the objective of the lesson is being
delivered and achieved. An English lesson plan will definitely need the implementers

(teachers) to achieve the main objective which is to enable the pupils to be able to
use the language that is being taught to them.

3) Suggestions for improvements

To help solving the problems, the first thing that is need to be considered is that the
teacher (planner) must be able to identify what is the purpose of the lesson carried
out that day. As what being state by Brown (2007), stating objective should be able
to identify an overall purpose that you will attempt to accomplish by the end of the
class period. Based on what Brown said, we could see that lesson objectives should
be very clear and also be achievable to accomplish and achieve as it will determine
the flow of every stage in the lesson that day.
Therefore, teachers should have clear view and adequate knowledge on setting up
the objectives that they wanted to achieve in the lesson and must be included in the
lesson plan they write so that it will be a guide not only for teachers during the lesson
but too help them aware of the performance of their pupils in the class
