Installation of RET / TMA after UMPT swap

This is an instruction for how to install RET and TMA on Huawei

Check with technician on site if there are any changes regarding RET or TMA.

Data for how TMA was defined in the old config can also be found in document

expansion\Huawei\RET_TMA_Data.xlsx

Installation of TMA
1. Turn on the ALD power feed. Change cabinet and subrack to the RFU/RRU where RET is
connected to:
MOD ANTENNAPORT:CN=<cabinet no>,SRN=<subrack no>,SN=<slot
no>,PN=R0A,PWRSWITCH=ON,THRESHOLDTYPE=TMA12DB_AISG;
2. Check the status of the power feed with command DSP ANTENNAPORT; If ALD Actual
Power Switch is ON, the RET current is within the alarm values. If not, there will also be
an alarm raised.
3. Scan the port for equipment. The result is shown in the bottom pane under the MML
command input. Scanning can take a couple of minutes:
SCN ALD;

4. Add the TMA shown in the scanning result, use the data from output
ADD
TMA:DEVICENO=0,DEVICENAME="TMA_Sec0",CTRLCN=0,CTRLSRN=5,CTRLSN=
1,SUBUNITNUM=2,VENDORCODE="HW",SERIALNO="F547193912601AC";
5. Check that there is a connection with TMA, can take a minute before there is
connection to the TMA:
DSP TMA;

6. Modify the Rx branch attenuation. For Huawei we always use 12 dB gain meaning the
attenuation value should be set to 16 (8 dB).
Note that the attenuation should be on both antenna A and B even if the TMA is
defined only on antenna A:
MOD RXBRANCH:CN=0,SRN=4,SN=2,RXNO=0,ATTEN=16;
MOD RXBRANCH:CN=0,SRN=4,SN=2,RXNO=1,ATTEN=16;

Installation of RET
1. Turn on the ALD power feed. Change cabinet and subrack to the RFU/RRU where RET is
connected to. If there is only RET on the antenna, use alarm threshold
RET_ONLY_COAXIAL, if there are both RET and TMA, use TMA12DB_AISG:
MOD ANTENNAPORT:CN=<cabinet no>,SRN=<subrack no>,SN=<slot
no>,PN=R0A,PWRSWITCH=ON,THRESHOLDTYPE=RET_ONLY_COAXIAL;
In some cases the RET has power feed through RET port instead (common with RRU):
MOD RETPORT:CN=<cabinet no>,SRN==<subrack no>,SN=<slot
no>,PWRSWITCH=ON,THRESHOLDTYPE= RET_ONLY_COAXIAL;

2. Check the status of the power feed with command DSP ANTENNAPORT; or DSP
RETPORT; depending on where the power is fed from. If ALD Actual Power Switch is
ON, the RET current is within the alarm values. If not, there will also be an alarm raised.
If the information in the alarm is Overcurrent Protection, try alarm threshold
TMA12DB_AISG instead.
3. Scan the port for equipment. The result is shown in the bottom pane under the MML
command input. Scanning can take a couple of minutes:
SCN ALD;

4. Add the RET shown in the scanning result, use the data from output
ADD
RET:DEVICENO=0,DEVICENAME="RET_Sec0",CTRLCN=0,CTRLSRN=5,CTRLSN=
1,RETTYPE=SINGLE_RET,SCENARIO=REGULAR,VENDORCODE="KA",SERIALN
O="CSG4303077";

5. Check that there is a connection with RET, can take a minute before there the RET is
connected:
DSP RET;
6. Check the actual tilt or use the list in the RET/TMA excel sheet:
DSP RETSUBUNIT:;
7. It should not be needed to download any new configuration file to the RET unless the
antennas are changed or if there are new RET installed.
8. Calibrate the RET. The result is shown in the bottom pane under the MML command
input:
CLB RET:OPMODE=SUBUNIT,DEVICENO=3,SUBUNITNO=1;
9. Change the tilt, remember that the value is 10*the actual tilt in degrees:
MOD RETTILT:RETCLASS=RET,OPMODE=DEVICENO,DEVICENO=1,TILT=90;
