2. KOMEN TENTANG PENTAKSIRAN


LAPORAN PENILAIAN PRESTASI MENGIKUT KONSTRUK
(KEKUATAN DAN KELEMAHAN)
2.1 Give appropriate responses/converse on a topic effectively
Strength
Good students are able to give appropriate response with relevant supplement of
information based on their general knowledge.
Weakness
Poor general knowledge affects the quality of answer given. Some students have
very low exposure to current issues.
2.2 Speak fluently using correct and acceptable pronunciation
Strength
High numbers of students are able to pronounce words, phrase and sentences
correctly with slight influence of their L1.
Weakness
Some students are highly influenced by the L1sometimes making it hard to
understand their response.
2.3 Speak coherently
Strength
Good students are able to use discourse marker/connectors/linkers in their
speech; demonstrating good flow of ideas.
Weakness
Some students simply memorized and have poor understanding of their text.
Significant disruption in flow of idea is clearly observed when they forgot
part/portion of the text.
2.4 Speak the language using a wide range of appropriate vocabulary within context
Strength
Good range of vocabulary. Some students show initiative by using vocabulary
outside the syllabus.
Weakness
Some students have very limited english vocabulary. Some students are also
affected by the social media slang.
2.5 Speak using correct grammar
Strength
Students are able to use correct grammar and aware of their error as some are
able to self-correct their own mistake during assessment.
Weakness
Students with poor language command make frequent grammar error.

3. SARANAN KEPADA CALON


Students should read more and vary their reading materials. They should read from
multiple resources (paper, electronic) to enrich their vocabulary and general knowledge.
They also need exposure to the language by watching and listening to television and radio
program. Majority of the students dont watch or listen to English TV or radio program.
4. SARANAN KEPADA GURU
Teachers should use authentic materials during assessment or preparation so that the
activity will become more meaningful for the students. This will attract and encourage
students to participate actively and elicit genuine response from them.
5. ISU DAN SARANAN PENAMBAHBAIKAN ULBS
Organize a comprehensive refresher course or workshop on ULBS. Include activity like
demonstration and practice. This is very relevant especially for the new teachers.
6. HAL-HAL LAIN
In general the assessment methods and models are appropriate and cater to the students'
needs. Students have more freedom in choosing what they want to present and familiar
with. Thus they would be able to present effectively.
