03. Each zone will have their own irrigation pond and pumping system for their sprinkler, say:
a. Zone A - Pump from pump house A, irrigation pond no. 1
b. Zone B - Pump from Pump house B, irrigation pond no. 2
c. Zone C - Pump from Pump house C, irrigation pond no. 3
d. Zone D - Pump from Pump house D, irrigation pond no. 3
04. All pump can be operated simultaneously, but each pump can operate for one subzone only.
So the zone respective subzone will be irrigate one at a time.
05. Sprinkler adopted for this irrigation purpose is an impact sprinkler, also known as a raingun.
Below is the sprinkler specification.
a. Pressure at nozzle is 3.4 bars
b. Overall area covered is 75 m in diameter.
c. Flow of 22.9 m3/hour.
06. For analysis and design purposes, only the critical subzone for each zone will be used;
a. For zone A, subzone 4 will be used to design the overall zone A system.
b. For zone B, subzone 4 will be used to design the overall zone B system.
c. For zone C, subzone 1 will be used to design the overall zone C system.
d. For zone D, subzone 1 will be used to design the overall zone D system.

Pipes Reticulation:
The rate at which flows through a piping system is an important factor in designing the system.
Factors affecting fluid flow can include the following: density, pressure (including pressure loss), inside
diameter of the pipe, and any additional resistance factors within the system such as fittings.
The maximum allowable water velocity in a thermoplastic piping system is a function of the design
of a specific system and its operating conditions. In general, design velocities of 5 - 10 feet/sec
are considered to be normal. As noted, these velocities are recommended for water and will vary
depending on the fluid medium and inside diameter of the pipe. Recommended velocities for water
are given below.
Pipe Size
3 - 10 inches
(76 -254 mm)
10 - 28 inches
(254 - 711 mm)
28 - 54 inches
(711 - 1372 mm)
* It is important in the selection of the pipe size that the designated pump suction velocity
be lower than the discharge velocity.
