LED Screen Installation Guide

Safety Notice
1. Please read through the instruction before the installation. Carefully observe all the warnings
and precautions described in the manual.
2. Keep the entire manual for future reference.
3. The screen power is supplied with a three-pin power plug, the third pin will be connected
to the ground. If your plug cannot plug into the electricity outlet, please contact the
electrician to replace. Do not let the safe function of the three pin plug disabled.
4. Make sure the power supply socket and cable resist all the related current. Dont overload
the power socket and cable which can result in re or electric shock.
5. Shut off the power for check, servicing, and disassembly.
6. Professional technician for all the servicing.
7. Keep the inside of LED display body dry and make sure the cooling system running well.
8. A normal inside temperature and carefully maintenance will last the LED display lifetime.

Basic Requirements & Preparation

1. Slot type screwdriver & Philips type screwdriver.

1. Build the structure frame.

2. Spanner.

2. 220V/110V power supply for LED display and control PC.

3. Hexagonal Bar & Hexagonal head screwdriver.

3. Industry Air Switch for the power supply of LED display.

4. Scissors.

4. Tools for installation.

5. Pincers & Wire cutters.

5. Life Machine or Crane if necessary.

6. Hammer.

6. Spare pars & Shim to adjust horizon.

7. Electrical Drill.

7. Ladder or Scaffold, safety belt and helmet.

8. Electric welding.
9. Multimeter.

Please prepare below tools before installation.

Caution
To prevent the occurrence of accident and injury, read and follow the local safety precautions.
Make sure all those who use Vegas LED Screens LED displays read the manual and follow.
Turn off the LED display immediately in case of malfunction.
Safety belt and helmet will be necessary in the whole process of installation.
Strong structure frame built for the consideration of extremely wind weather.
Ladder and scaffold must be strong enough for workers standing on it.
Observe proper electrician steps when handling the power supply.
Any assembly-disassembly should be accomplished by professional engineers.
Keep away from Children.

Standard Packing
Three layers for a standard packing:
1. Wooden Case.

Structure Design
As a solution provider, Vegas LED Screens provides structure design
service for indoor and outdoor LED display.

2. Carton.
3. EPE.
* Packing dimension depends on the size of LED display cabinet.

1. Installation location &building drawing or pictures should be provided.

2. Vegas LED Screens will provide suggested design in AutoCAD.dwg format and
send it to the customers in two weeks.
3. Customers need to make their nal design based on Vegas LED Screens suggestions.
4. Build the structure with good quality steel and other materials.
5. Structure must be strong enough to keep the public safe.
6. Consult with the professional project company in local area.
7. A Vegas LED Screens engineer is available for the assistance of installation.

Flight Case Packing

Two layers for a ight case packing:
1. Flight case.
2. EPE.
* Packing dimension depends on the size of LED display cabinet.

Notice
We suggest you buy insurance for all the goods will be transported.
When receive the goods, please check the packing immediately. If any damage please call the
insurance company and claim for compensation.

Above six installation types are most common for outdoor LED display. Base,
Inlaid, Hang, Double Poles Support are most common for indoor LED display.

Cabinet Sketch

Cabinet to Structure Assembly

1. Open packaging.

1. LED module.

2. Check before assembly.

2. ABS plastic module base.

3. Install the rst cabinet to the structure.

3. Iron & Aluminum cabinet.

4. Adjust horizon with shim.

Installation of Sending Card

Sending card:

(Detail about sending card please refer to the sending card related manual)

The sending card is installed in an unused PCI socket of control computer.

Additional function interface is connected to serial port, and one of the Data-output
interfaces is connected to Receiving Card by UTP.

Control Software
Standard control software is Led Studio, please refer to the manual for the installation and
operation.

Connection of Receiving Card

Connection for Standard Cabinet

Step 1: Connection of AC power cable

A. Connection between Receiving Card and Hub Card.

Below drawing shows how to connect the AC power cable between cabinets and inside the
cabinets:

One cabinet has a Receiving Card integrated with a Hub Card. Use two
2x25PIN connectors to connect the two cards

B. Connection between Hub Card and Module.

Refer to above diagram, Hub
Card which connected to the
Receiving Card has 6 16PIN
flat cables respectively and
which will connect to the first
module in each row in each
cabinet. Other modules will be
connected to each other by
short 16PIN at cables.

Step 2: Connection of Data cable

Below drawing shows how to connect the data cable between cabinets and inside the cabinets:

Connection for Rental Cabinets

Connection of UTP and AC cable to cabinet
Socket WS16 and WP20 are equipped on the back side of cabinets. They are for the connecting
of UTP (Unshielded Twisted Paired) and AC cable respectively.

1. Signal cable interconnection between cabinets is shown as in the diagram: (

means the signal cables from left side cabinets which come inside from left holes,

Electric connection can be set up correctly by connecting UTP and AC

cables to all cabinets.

and will be connected to the related connector jack of rst left line modules, please
pay attention to the linear order. means the signal cables from its own cabinet

which will go through right hole to be connected to the related connector jack of
rst left line modules of the next cabinet, please pay attention to the linear order.)
2. Connect the network cable (or optical ber) to the top receiving card located on
the rst left line cabinet, going through the hole on one side of the cabinet.
3. Cascade connect network cable (or optical ber) to the receiving cards located

Connect AC:

on the rst left line cabinets.

4. Connect the receiving card to related partial modules inside first left line
cabinet.

Appendix

2. Receiving Card
The Receiving Cards are installed
inside the cabinets. Data interface is
double network card interface; two
ports of the data interface are input
ports and output ports respectively.
Power interface is 5V power supply
interface. Scanning output interface
connects the Hub Card.

1. Sending Card

When the card is working, the

indication light will be LED1 (red)
keep lighting, and LED2 (green)
keep ashing.

3. EX701 Multi-function Card

The Sending Card is installed inside control PC.
There are several interfaces in the card:

1) DVI interface
The pin denition of DVI interface and Graphic card are one-to-one correspondence. Its OK to
use DVI line offered to connect.

The EX701 card is installed in the LED cabinet,

it has a light sensor can adjust LED display
brightness automatic, collecting the data of
temperature and humidity, controlling the switch
of LED display, and transmit sound.

2) Additional function interface

The interface is telephone line of 6P, which can supply the additional function ofregulation,
controlling grey level, turning on and turning off large display, locking display, and showing the
area setup, etc through using 6PIN-RS232 line offered to connect with serial port.
3) Data output interface
The interface is double network card interface of 8P, connecting with receiving card through
pin-to-pin CAT5 UTP. The sequence of the twisted paired in color is: white-orange, orange,
white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white-brown, brown. Both sides are the same sequence.
Every interface outputs 512 rows data. Data output interface-1 is 1-512 rows, and data output
interface-2 is 512-1024 rows.
4) External power interface
The interface is 5V power interface, which will be used when Sending Card is put outside. When
the card is working, the indication light will be LED1 (red) keep lighting, and LED2 (green) keep
ashing
